His father is a piece of shit, his mother despite knowing his weak constitutions and needs for special attention focused on more towards his big brother. At a certain degree they also neglected him because he is "not talented" "useless" etc. His big brother, despite cares for him doesn't really act like it and bad at communications. His hardships in a war also makes him what he is currently. Can't really blame him for killing his parents...
Im so happy with how you made Deon's personality cause his personality was made by himself to justify all the killing he did in the war. So im pretty sure the non tinted one is his real personality
