You have officially made my day. Can't wait for STAR WARS
Please react to Red Shoes and the seven dwarfs It’s a fun movie with a beautiful message about loving yourself
You look really cute without beard Nick
I can’t wait to see you react to Star Wars,Nick! I have a feeling you might like Harrison Ford in those movies.
I love this remake
"I am actually so shocked how scary she is to me."
Glenn close (Cruella's actor) actually said in an interview once that she had a kid walk up to her with wide eyes. She just laughed like cruella to be in character and it ran off crying and she found it pretty funny. X'D Poor kid but man this queen of an actress is literally one of my biggest idols.
So just like Ralph Fiennes doing Voldemort to a kid passing by or Anthony Hopkins hiding in theater voicing Hannibal Lecter in your ear. Deliciously evil!
I'm pretty sure that kid now must be so glad to have know Cruella in real life 😂😅
Right? I love Glenn Close ♥ Emma Stone did pretty decent but she'll never measure up to Glenn.
At a convention, Victoria Smurfit who played Cruella on the TV show Once Upon A Time, told a similar story about a kid who recognized her when she was out.
Side note: She's absolutely hilarious and so sweet IRL.
Apparently, her scariness is quite tame. Cathy Moriarty (Who you may remember from Raging Bull or Casper (1995)) originally auditioned for the role but, the studio thought her voice was going to horrify audiences more than Close.
Definitely one of the better, if not the best, live action remake of Disney’s old films.
That isn’t saying much though given how bad all the others are.
And this was before it became a trend and having it's own sequel
@@jamesmoyner7499I agree, i don’t like the others they’ve done so far, like any of them 🤣 this movie is amazing though, at least to me it is
Knew you’d be terrified by Cruella… Glenn Close is a freaking legend in this movie!
Glenn Close was Soooo ICONIC as Cruella. No wonder she produced the “Cruella” prequel that Emma Stone starred in.
She produced it?
She did ? I didn't know
@@a.g.demada5263 I bet we all thought that she would be Cruella again once we heard about the prequel, Huh.?
@@morganspider-manmarvelfan6110 maybe 🤔
She produced it AND served as executive consultant to Emma Stone as well to understanding this role.
The fact that the actress for cruela got to keep all of her costumes is ✨ ICONIC ✨
That’s amazing! I never knew that. Glenn Close is such an icon
That's fucking awesome! 😍😍😍
She'll never be without a Halloween costume lol.
I think the marriage scene is a representation of how in all child's movies they automatically fall in love and skip the entire relationship and get married all seemingly in one day
I feel like Cruella as a villain definitely got a spike in popularity after this film, and that was definitely because of Glenn Close's genius portrayal. I feel like you can tell when an actor/actress is just doing what they need to, but the most memorable are the ones who just embrace it entirely. Glenn Close just went all the way with her Cruella, pushing a meter past the animated one, making her so unhinged behind her glamor and smiles. You fear her just bursting out at you and my WORD, that laugh has got to be up there with the greatest villain laughs in cinema.
she was so beautiful
One of the best animation to live action villains ever. And i’m glad it was when they actually made the villain a villain and not a sympathetic anti-hero
Awesome, Nick! I love the live action version of 101 Dalmatians better than the remake of Cruella :) I'm so glad you decided to watch this movie. I recommend you to watch the sequel 102 Dalmatians with Glenn Close as Cruella again. This woman is the only one who can play as Cruella
I think it's interesting that the dog's don't talk in this version. It really is a credit to the animal trainers and of course the animals themselves that you can still pick up exactly what they are feeling in the moment. Of course not all the animals are real, and they had to animate some shots, like the puppy sliding down the tube, but most of the dogs are real ones!
Behind the scenes fact, when the cameras weren’t rolling Glenn Close would be playing with the puppies still in costume, and I find that absolutely adorable.
Who wouldn't? Not everyday you get affection with a puppy apacalpyse
@@notavailable8201 I love that you called it a "puppy apocalypse". 😂
Aww, I love that! 😍😍😍
11:32 "a dog ripped out his throat and tore off his vocal chords. "
Nicky: 😦..... I didn't realize this actor was going to be in this 🤔 (basically)
Lol😂
The dogs are definitely cute😍this is a really good live action film. And I still can’t understand how Cruella would wanna harm the puppies. They’re just too cute.
Fashion.
I know right? I mean she's a psychopath, but still. 😂
Yay, excited about this one! I saw this in theaters when it first premiered 🤣 Glenn Close is THE Cruella! Hope you enjoyed it Nick and have a great week!
Also explaining the bit with the newborn puppy - he was stillborn in both versions, which does sadly happen now and then IRL due to lung or heart complications, so Roger massaged the heart in order to get it beating. ❤️
This movie was my childhood, I was absolutely obsessed with Glenn Close as Cruella De Vil! Thanks as always for the review and reaction, keep up the awesome work Nick 🙂
My two dogs growing up used to be scared when Cruella would show up on the screen. It was specifically Glenn Close as Cruella. They would whine and whimper whenever she would cackle.
Aww. 😞 I guess her performance was better than we thought. 😂
Glen Close I think her name was, the actor who played Cruella really SOLD THIS MOVIE
I've always preferred this version over the cartoon one. The woman who played Cruella Deville did such a good job getting into this role. She was the best part of the movie my opinion.
She also voiced Kala in Tarzan, and was also in Guardians Of the Galaxy.
Glenn Close is a living legend
Me too.
@@joshwilson6077 THANK YOU! I was wondering what her name was again.
Glenn Close is an absolute *LEGEND* in this role!! She is just spectacular 😍
With a lot of these films where big plot points come along quickly *ahem* (like MARRIAGE for instance 😂), I usually just envision some kind of time jump that's skipped over. Funny enough, I actually know a couple who also brought up the idea of getting married while on their first date! It wasn't something that was gonna happen the next day obviously, but they were honest about wanting to pursue this as an end goal. I think they were tired of casual dating at that point. They tied the knot after only about 3 months, and are still together after 10 years! Roger and Anita kind of remind me of them.
So there you have it, kids. True love and happy endings *could* still happen, even if the marriage idea is floated right off the bat. 😂
the actress you recognise from spiderwick is Dame Joan Plowright. she was married to Lawrence Olivia and had a broad stage career
I’m surprised you didn’t recognize Jasper (the tall thief) as that was Hugh Laurie best known as Dr. House. Also while I enjoy this film especially for how over the top Glenn Close is for Cruella I do prefer the original film. One thing though I like is how while Roger had suspicion it was Cruella in the original you actually see her arrested and the police involved. Also when Cruella was making the offer for the puppies they were never going to give them the lack of response was more out of shock rather than thinking about it. The part about them only realizing why it was Cruella and why she took the puppies was because with the early in the film interaction with Cruella. Anita thought it was mearly a dark joke and she didn’t actually mean anything by it.
Yeah he was also the dad in Stuart Little which Nick saw not so long ago.
And the guy who plays Horace is also Arthur Weasley in Harry Potter.
@@trevorbarker6695 He said that in the reaction at least twice, tho
its so humiliating how she got defeated poor beautiful woman
21:51 that’s actually the proper way to hold young puppies it’s how their mom carries them, common name for it is the scruff its pretty much a big flap of skin.
Glenn Close did an amazing job of bringing out the wicked nature of Cruella in this film. To think she went from that role to Kala from Tarzan. It’s like Sterling Holloway going from Kaa the snake to Pooh Bear.
You mean the other way around .
Agreed.
i love this film!!! My childhood!!!! Love Jeff Daniels and Glenn close 🤧🤧🤧❤️🔥 and the other henchman besides Ron’s dad is hugh Laurie. He was the dad in Stewart little and he’s Dr house in the show House MD. :)
Fun Fact:
This movie was written by John Hughs, the writer of the first three Home Alone movies.
I love how 2 wholesome dad characters (mr Weasley and Stuart little dad) play the thief’s in this film 😂
Glenn was the cruella we wanted to see... She was dangerous, insane, terrifying, elegant and so much more. Glenn already made a villain before in fatal attraction with Alex character.
absolutely beautiful woman
Too early to read through comments as I watch along 😭 can't wait to watch this!
Nick never apologize for saying aww when cute puppies are on the screen. it is wonderful! Actually most of the what pongo does in the beginning are tasks that service dogs can be trained to do! i loved seeing it in a movie! hope you enjoy this movie!
I never knew John Hughes wrote and produced this movie.
He did Breakfast Club, Home Alone, Ferris Bueller, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, and Christmas Vacation
Finally out. Have been waiting for this one. Thanks 😆😆😆
Glenn Close as Cruella is unmatched.
I don’t want to watch the Emma Stone version cause I’m worried it would ruin how vile Cruella is and should be. I don’t think it hold a light to this or the animated original. BUT if Nick does a reaction on it, then I def will watch his video on it :)
In my opinion, the Emma Stone film is good, and she does a good job... but I don't feel like it quite 'explains' why she became so evil, and I think the backstory to her evilness was the whole point of making it. BUT there is a sequel coming so I'm hopeful they will get into it. I'd say if you can watch it as a stand alone and separate it from this a little, there are nice little moments where you can see this character building.
Edit: but also- I do kind of like the idea that we never knew why she was like this.
It's honestly fine if you forgot what happened in the first movie. All movies should be seen as different things, even if they were similar
Alonzo is my favorite character in this movie even though he's not in the original. He's still so kind, loyal and loving to Cruella no matter how "CRUEL" she is
So glad you seem to be doing better Nick, love how much content you are giving us!!
Hi Nick! I hope you and all the lovely viewers are doing well. ^-^
Also you’re right to see the similarities to the Home Alone movies in this - it’s the same writer after all, John Hughes! 😄
The book has quite a few differences compared to both adaptations. I remember Perdy was a brown spotted Dalmatian that they took in to help nurse the puppies because “Mrs Pongo” couldn’t manage nursing on her own. I also think the butler is meant to be like her husband in the book. She had a wimpy husband that she bossed around, he even took her last name when they married. I also remember Cruella invited Roger and Anita over to her mansion for dinner and she put copious amounts of pepper on everything even her ice cream 😂
Isn't that, the dinner in question what happens in the second film?
@@kitty3999 oh maybe now that you mention it! They could be referencing the book there for sure!
@@vixiestarfire It's been such a long time since I've seen it, but its' possible they used that for an idea for the scenes.
I just remember the dogs taking over the dinner and eating everything XD
@@kitty3999 i remember one hacking up a bone onto the table and it was sooooo gross 😂
@@vixiestarfire had to look up the scene XD and that's where the dog came onto the table to eat whatever the other dog hacked up XD then more chaos, and creulla just laughing. XD
I love the animated version more but I've always loved this one too. The dogs are adorable and Glenn Close does an amazing job of being Cruella. She truly embodied the character. 🖤🤍
This is one of my favorite animated movies made into live actions ever! Glenn Close kills it as Cruella :)
Little fun fact, John Hughes wrote Cruella DeVill a lot softer and lighter. Glen Close wasn't a fan of it so she decided to add some of the lines from the 1961 film during her scenes which included the "poison them, drown them" monologue. she wanted the world to see the evil person that Cruella is and because of her brilliant acting in these scenes, they decided to keep them in the final cut.
Really ? Well, it's good she did it
Fun fact: there actually IS a 101 Dalmatians video game, featuring characters from the sequel. I played it all the time as a kid.
I used to play that game too
Fun fact: when trying to chose someone for the role for cruella, glenn did a movie called fatal attraction and she was a psycho in a good acting way and it still scare the shit out of people. I swear she had so much fun doing the role and wanted make the character as hated and unredeemable character
OH GOD YES!! I grew up on this one first when I was little, I didn’t watch the animated one until I was an adult 😅 By far the best remake of a Disney animated movie ❤️
Maleficent was good,too!
@@morganspider-manmarvelfan6110 That one too! I was pleasantly surprised with Maleficent and the sequel, and they further cemented her as my favourite villainess/Anti-heroine ❤️
And so is Pinocchio
YOUVE SEEN SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES! SHES FROM THERE?! So much great news in so little time!
The most perfect villain, played by a great actress is why this will always be a hiking favorite of mine! ThNks for the react!!!
OMG I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH 😭😭 I'm in school right now but as soon as i get home I'll watch it and im sure im gonna love it. Thank you sooo much for this reaction, Nick, i Can't wait 🥰💞😁
Have a nice week, and ill be waiting for the next videos 🎉
Did you recognize the other bad guy as the dad from Stuart Little? Lol
Haha I did while editing it, not while watching. Thanks for letting me know!
Saw this in the theaters with my parents and we cracked up laughing!
List of more movies I'll watch this week:
Tuesday, The Great Wall, Cars 3
Wednesday, Battle Of The Sexes, Baywatch
Thursday, A Quiet Place, Early Man
Friday, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, Fighting With My Family
Saturday, Flawless, Supernova
Sunday, Midway, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker.
Joan Plowright (the Nanny) is probably in all the 90’s movies that I watched as a child. Baldo. 101 Dalmatians. Back to the Secret Garden. Dennis the Menace.
Glenn Close was so great in this live-action remake of 1961’s 101 Dalmatians.
She not only served as producer to 2021’s Cruella, but also served as executive consultant to Emma Stone as well.
When I worked for a costume shop for an acting company, they had a whole section in storage for furs. Like animals you wouldn't expect (along with mink and other rodents commonly used) like monkeys, foxes and even a lion. Out of curiosity, I picked up the lion coat and it weighed way more than I expected. Poor animals.
Such nostalgia- its fun re-watching these movies with Nick!
Need to watch 102 Dalmatians next. The acting in this was perfect and the dogs used were very good in their training and roles
Movie: (description of horrible grisly dog attack happening)
Nick: omg Arthur Weasley
LOL I predicted you would react that way
Back when live action remakes were well done! They took the classic and kept true to the heart of the original story and the changes that were made, were tastefully and respectfully done. Too bad they didn't continue to do so with remakes in recent years.
The Roger actor in this movie, Jeff Daniels, is a very versatile actor. Dry comedy. Laugh out loud comedy. Drama. He brilliantly co-starred with Jim Carrey in Dumb And Dumber. Hilarious movie!!

Glenn Close was a perfect Cruella De Ville
Before they all went downhill
The last puppy who was still born was inspired by the true story that happened in author Dodie Smith's real life. Her Dalmatian had 15 pups but the last was still born, her husband massaged it and it woke up therefore saving it's life.
There are some parts of this film I'd forgotten from when I had it on VHS as a kid and a lot of it I still remember
That laugh is one of the all-time greatest villain laughs in the history of cinema.
beautiful
This is the only live action remake I will ever love. It felt real and at the time they weren't thinking about butchering their classics for a cheap buck. Glenn Close was the perfect Cruella, Emma didn't capture her at all.
Right!! And I love Emma Stone but I think so too. She’s a great actress and was probably following directions perfectly, but I just don’t think the vibes of the film fit the original tale overall. Totally different thing. It lacked charisma
This movie is iconic! Disneys best live action movie hands down. I don’t think anything they do will top this. I love Hook too but I don’t think Disney was responsible for that
Still amazes me Miss Glen also voiced Kala in Tarzan one of your older reaction videos she really is an amazing actress. Fun fact the og Cruella from the animated one commented on Glen's portrayal of Cruella. She said Glen Close is a Marvelous Actress though she can't quite wear furs like I do while doing her own iconic Cruella voice.
Now for the Peter Pan remake 🤞🏼
I love this movie. The dogs are so cute. You should take a look at the sequel as well.
Oddball was the cutest and by far, the smartest puppy, in the sequel. The only thing I have against it is there’s ABSOLUTELY NO mentioning of Roger, Anita, Pongo, Perdy, or any of their other puppies besides Dipstick, and possibly Dottie.
Glenn Close made such a terrifying and amazing Cruella
It's hard to be better
Don't feel bad for not remembering everything about the original movie Nick! You watch SO many movies. We like you just the way you are!
The older lady that was with Anita was in Chronicles but also the 90s Dennis The Menace with Walter Mathau. She played Walters' wife.
31:35-31:45 that’s what I have in my mind, when I was a kid. Also, you should watch home alone 2: lost in New York next Christmas 🎄 38:55-39:07 😆 40:43 🦨 41:58 can’t wait to see you watch 102 Dalmatians.
Been waiting for this reaction ever since you did the cartoon version. You gotta react to 102 dalmatians next 👏
Just want to let you know how much I appreciate your reactions! Your honest reactions and smiling eyes really get me out of my worst moods
That clean shave tho, lookin good Nick. 😎
I know Cruella is suppose to be terrifying, but I just can't stop laughing at her. This was the movie that made me a huge fan of Glenn Close 😄
why???
I’m glad you reacted to this one! This has always been one of the my favorite comfort movies. The music, comedy, the dogs and cruella acting just makes an enjoyable watch. I hope in the future you’ll react to 102 Dalmatians a sequel to this movie I love watching these movies back to back
@NickFlix so anxious about the Cruella live action reaction with Emma Stone 💟 love you, and good job!!!
This is the only Disney live-action remake I liked because it took a great story and made changes that I like to it. Like I love how Cruella actually paid for her crimes and they made the humans SO much smarter because in the original, Cruella was never found out to be the culprit.
cruella was humiliated the worst out of them all :( poor beautiful woman
You should DEFINITELY check out 102 Dalmatians and 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure. I think you're really gonna like them, but I haven't seen the former in YEARS.
Also, speaking of Glenn Close, you could also check out the Guardians of the Galaxy movies if you haven't yet. 😍
One of the better Disney remakes. I also loved Cinderella, Jungle Book, Aladdin, and Lion King. But then came Mulan, the worst one of them all, and in my opinion the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.
I actually liked Mulan 2020,
@@angusng816 Seriously? Are you sure you didn't watch the orignal by mistake?
11:44 I must say, it's pretty funny seeing Dr. House and Arthur Weasley in a movie together.
HI NICK! Have you seen Narnia? Before the Avengers, before any superhero epic movie or any battle, this was and probably is the most epic movie I’ve seen and it was a great part of my childhood. It’s a great movie, with great special effects, AMAZING score, and it’s just… beautiful. I’d love to see your reaction to it ❤️❤️❤️
Glenn close is amazing she also voiced kala (Tarzan gorilla mom) in Disneys Tarzan
anyone remember that one brandon rogers video where he said " my kids are at their age where their starting to have s*x with each other"?
the ending of this movie took it literally.
I love this movie. I never watched any of them until someone gave me a dalmatian.
I love this movie so much just s much as the original. Glen Close is the perfect Cruella.😊😊 The only issue with this film is that the movie Babe came out the year before, so the technology to make the animals talk was around.
Honestly, this, and the 1994 live-action remake of Jungle Book were my favorites of the remakes of the older Disney animated classic films. Glenn Close was excellent as Cruella, and I loved the rest of the cast as well. I also liked how they changed a few things up here and there from the animated 101 Dalmatians. Anyway, great reaction once again!
This is hands down my favorite Disney remake. So glad you reacted to it
I used to have the computer game 101 Dalmatians: Escape from DeVil Manor. The game was based on this live-action movie. Patches and Wizzer work together to escape the manor and get help for the rest of the puppies. Who else owned that game? 🙋♀
I haven't seen this in so long but it definitely is a good movie!! But I was laughing when I realized that they got engaged in 1 day 🤣🤣
Great reaction!!
Coming back to finish the second half of this, and I just now noticed that Nick shaved his face!!! 😅
hope you watched the animated one after this some time for a fresh comparison and a reminder of the dogs eye view of it. I'd definitely recommend watching the borrowers sometime too, it is sort of same era of films and familiar family fun feeling
I actually saw the animated one a couple months ago! But plan on rewatching it soon just to see it again for comparison! And have that on my list.
Introducing Hugh Laurie and Ron Weasley's father
I was a huge fan of the animated version growing up, so seeing this as an adult, you lose a lot of the innocence, and it's catered for the child audience. For me this was a way for me to see animal training in action, and how it would meld with CGI puppies, which you could tell. There was a lot of cheese in this movie, but aside from the animals, it's ALLLLLLLLL about Glenn Close. I've rarely seen her as a villian where she doesn't just command the screen each time she's on.
Now, of course, I've had a career in veterinary medicine, so I can't watch this without cringing in some areas, but it's still a fun film if you wanna watch Glenn Close.
I really liked this movie as a kid but even then I was a bit annoyed about the skunk and the raccoon when this is supposed to be set in the UK, those animals are not found in Britain at all and as a child who liked their animal facts I was sort of salty about it lol
My grandparents knew each other for 3 weeks before they got married and were together for 44 years until my grandmother passed.
Glenn Close was who we ALL feared in our childhood!
The raccoons weren't trying to drive, it was just a distraction.
Also, it's fiction; it doesn't have to make sense. 😂
Mark Williams (Horace) went on to play Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise.
