Faith is not centered around logic that is why it is faith. The probability of any god or religion being right about what they preach is the same as them not being right, because it is an unprovable thesis. As a thought experiment, think about how people irl live in their own realities. Every person expiriences thinks in a different way, sometimes for physical reasons (for example a blind person "watching" a movie) and sometimes for mental ones (non religios person goind to a temple vs a reiligios person going to a temple). So you can definitly say that to some degree we all live in our own realities because of our different perceptions. That does not mean that one is more or less right than the other just different. Objective realitiy is hard to prove, as everything is to some degree based on what we can perceve with out senses, which makes it hard to prove that reality is real, because we can definitly trick our senses (similar to the matrix argument). As far as the show goes, I don't think they made definitiv statements on whether the gods or god exists in the series. They just show different perspectives of the characters in the story.

Or maybe it is a tragic twist? While Ragnar THOUGHT that he is free, and decides his own fate, maybe as a twist Odin decided, that he will take him to Valhalla? Perhaps not because of Ragnar beliefs... but other people beliefs? That would be tragic for Ragnar. To know, that in the end, he did not have any control over his life. Just because since that first raid, he always did what people, or at least SOME people, expected from him?

Watched the episode last week blind going into it, hardest i have cried for a hero in my life. Watching Bjorn growing through the show, becoming a man, a hero for his people and the true king of all Norway even if it was for a moment just makes his character so powerful to remember. To me, Bjorn is the only son of Ragnar in Vikings that had everything to prove to the gods and yet, had nothing to prove to his people because they already knew how powerful his will and spirit grew since he was a child, thanks to Lagertha. A true son of Ragnar to the very end, a true king for his people.

Even though the show became much less engaging after Rangner's death, the scene of Bjorn's death is the most epic and touching scene of the whole series which is quite extraordinary and ironic at the same time. This makes the show alive in my soul from the first season until the last second of the last episode of the last season.
