Okay, so why was this so late?
The answer is a long one, but it's a combination of copyright issues and a complication in my personal life. I'm working on some patreon only content to explain a bit about what happened. Know that I'll do my best to keep to my two week schedule in future.

I loved Matt Smith's Doctor because of those little filler words like "really" and "very". It distracts the enemy - and through them, us - by causing him to seem meandering. It adds that much more emphasis when we hear the phrase, "I am talking!" Nice analysis!
another great analysis thanks. David Tennant and his storylines were wonderful I think my favorite is The Family of Blood heartbreaking annnnd I just looked it up. of course Moffat was one of the writers. In the past all my favorites were all his. Anway. I do agree that Matt Smith's delivery was exceptional because his portrayal was of one who had had enough and willing to die for right......but I will say something I told my brother who didn't care for the show.... Dr. Who wasn't THE hero, the people who went with him and died for right were the heroes all along.
This speech and Rings of Akhaten speech get me every dang on time
Capaldi was the best NuWho Doctor. Hellbent is criminally unrated. But this a good speech.
I actually disagree with what you say about Smith, whilst that speech was great, Series 5 as a whole and those episodes were not good and anti-climactic (with extremely wasted potential). I think Capaldi made those scenes work better in Hell Bent, especially since we were finally back on Gallifrey and the villains were the Time Lords. In my opinion, that was much more impactful.
It's been a long time since I wrote this script and my opinion on DW has changed a lot just watching Moffat drive it into the ground with endless self-reference and self-service, so I'd agree the speech in Hell Bent is better placed in the larger world (i.e. Timelords coming back as the baddies) but in the episode itself and that season it's basically really well-executed hot air.
The whole season was just a set up for how scared all the timelords are of the doctor because he's just that impressive and special and rings a lot of Sherlock's problems. Season 5 and Season 9 are almost totally different shows so I can see why you'd enjoy the later rather than the former - plus Peter Capaldi with an electric guitar is kind of amazing.
The pandorica speech is followed by the doctor immediately being punished for his arrogance while s9 basically rewards the doctor for just being really clever and very special.
@@TheAntagonistEssayshellbent and heaven sent are basically the deadly assassin with the two halves swapped. Both are a very clever analysis of grief. Still he must have really hated Adric
