Great video thanks, I remember being frustrated by Ocean's Kong on the Spectrum, bad collision detection and far too easy to get stuck on a ladder. Crazy Kong by Anirog on the Vic-20 was one of the first games I played on a mate's computer, hard but impressive at the time. I'm relieved you nailed the Falcon Crazy Kong story, too many lazy retellings refer to it as an unlicensed bootleg, I have one in my home arcade as that's the game I remember playing not DK itself. Time to check out your back catalogue then...
I finally realised why the sound was screwed up and echoey in this video... It was down to my ShadowPlay capture software using my webcam mic, instead of my Samson Meteor mic... Boy do I feel like a bit of a dunce, I thought my microphone was broken, but the issue is now fixed so all future videos should not suffer the same fate!
Hi there Daphe, I'm glad you liked it, there were plenty more that I could've put in it too, I even had a 2 minute montage planned, without vocals, just to fit some more in, but the work involved in putting that together for the difference it would've made to the overall video, just seemed too much... And Krazy Kong on the ZX81 is an amazing game, especially considering the extreme system limitations, I commend anyone who coded good games for that machine!

There is something very nostalgic about the ZX81 graphics. I love it
Yeah it certainly brings back memories...
There were some surprisingly good games on the ZX81 considering its limitations!

woohoo! We had the ZX81 version as kids and liked it. My sister could get to level 2 but I couldn't as I was a bit shit :)
I remember having it too, on my brother's ZX81... it certainly wasn't an easy game!
