- Prince Harry did not make it to his grandfather Prince Philip's memorial service on Tuesday, and the royal family are reportedly "disappointed" that he didn't attend. The Duke of Sussex claims he refused to travel due to ongoing issues with an adequate security detail for his family since they stepped down as senior members of the royal family. Richard Griffin, former royal personal protection officer for Prince Philip, spoke with Sky News after the memorial and said it was a "pathetic" excuse.

I have already said this, but clearly need to again because it is beyond me, that anyone is dumb enough to think that it is Harry who is being discriminated against by not being permitted to pay for Met Police security. The Police are not for hire!!! They never have been and nor should they ever be! I don't want to live in a world where I have to worry that I or someone I love may be in dire need of help from law enforcement but might not get the help needed, because those with deeper pockets secured the services of local and state law enforcement for something as ridiculous as keeping photographers at bay. That is not the way it should ever work!!!! Harry could very easily employ the services of retired Met Police which is what his father did for Camilla before they married. Harry could also stay at Windsor Castle with HMTQ or with his father at Clarence House with his family, as was offered by Charles and within those walls, he and his family would have had more than adequate protection that he would not have had to pay a penny for!!! But he and his liar wife want a cavalcade to escort them wherever they go, as they continue to try and film footage for Netflix. That is why staying with HMTQ or Prince Charles was never going to be a viable option for this disgusting duo. Harry is clearly dumb AF because he did not think through what the optics would be, using safety concerns for not returning to the UK when reigning Monarchs and Royalty from other countries felt safe enough to attend this memorial.

@@rosemarie3251 only senior royals who serve the Monarch by doing public duties are allocated security like Charles and William and their spouses, Anne only when conducting public duties, etc. They stopped giving royal security to Andrew’s children because they are not senior royals. Harry used to have security because he was a senior royal but then he gave up his senior royal status and public service duties. Ergo no more security like all other non-senior royal family members who are not doing public service duties on behalf of the Queen. Harry was clearly told this at the time of his exit. He is probably just using it now as an excuse to not visit UK with his family.

The funeral was scaled back because of COVID. This was them doing the things that had to be left out of the original plan. If his reason for not going was security, he would have been safe.
