Thank you very much for the video! This video proves that the quartz clock moments can be repaired. By watching this video I had understood that if the motor and electronic circuit board are functioning and the gear wheels are not functioning we can disassemble the gear wheels, clean them and reassemble them so that the clock will function again. So that throwing old dead clocks into garbage or by the side of road or street can be avoided.

Care should be taken to avoid damage to the teeth of the delicate gears, as the plastic teeth are likely could damage with slight pressure, which may affect its engagement with other contacting teeth

If it ever does die ,ebay and Ali express sell those clock motors for under 2.00 ,but that oil will make it quieter, and it will last londer ,I would use synthic super lube oil with teflon.just a thought it thicker and would hold on to the places you oil

never use high viscosity or thick oils on watch or clock movements

I would use clock oil personally. Sewing machine oil in a pinch but not ideal

Just buy a silent smooth movement which costs about USD$2 from aliexpress.com, remove hands, take out old movement, put in new movement, install hands all at 12 o'clock position. Size of silent movement is same. The only thing to take note of is the length of the shaft, be sure that it is similar in length.

Most likely it is bad battery contact to circuit board. The part where the metal touches the circuti board often corrodes when Alkaline batteries are used. U can try soldering some small wires from circuit board to metal battery contacts. It is very rewarding to be able to bring a dead movement to life, but like what Mariano says, these days, if u are able to order a new movement, it's much easier to just go buy one. Costs about USD$2 with shipping.
