      @@kittygomeowmeow984 Vote no and when you get no pay increase don't cry about it. Most of you have zero understanding of what happens when a no vote is cast in the NALC. You don't get to vote again, the contract can be substantially different with none of the benefits, a massive pay cut between prior regulars and regulars after said date can happen. And yes all of this has happened in the past on no votes. But if you think you have more control then you actually do go ahead vote no. I have 2 other forms of income ill vote no with you to teach you a lesson.

    If you work for USPS and you don't handle the mail, your job is an unnecessary financial burden on the service. Time to trim the fat at the top and pay the real workers that are actually doing the job what they are worth! Restore the integrity of the carrier craft by making it an attractive position for quality workers with a quality salary and benefits.

    They could save $ by properly staffing offices instead of mandatory overtime letter carriers have to work pretty much everyday.

    • @arrinstoner
      @arrinstoner 4 дня назад

      Exactly. There is no 8 hour list anymore. It's mandatory overtime every day. The amount of unneccessary overtime USPS pays out is staggering. Easy solution, make every route easy to do in 8 hours. When the carrier finishes the route, they go home. Pay carriers their full 8 even if they finish undertime and go home. This will encourage employees to not goof around and milk the overtime. This will also reduce the number of sick calls. If I'm feeling slightly sick I call off because I know I'm going to have to do a long ass route that isn't timed to 8 and will probably end up being there for 10 hours. If a route is easy to do in 8 and I can go home when I finish, I'll go into work, knock it out in 6 or 7 hours and go home.

This is what causes our customers to use other means. Taking new employees in without entrance exams, allowing them to become career with benefits, creating an entitled attitude, no real commitment, and a bigger pool of union members that has clogged how we do business at an extra cost, a long with delaying FC mail, has been the worst management decision and action!!!

    My now deceased grandparents were retired, loyal, lifelong postal workers. My father, sister and I grew up as postal babies. For me and my sister, this was during the 60's-70's. We spent a good amount of time in our local post offices visiting and being shown off to my grandparent's co-workers and Supervisors. We received lots of hugs and cheek pinches. Every weekend my grandmother would have me walk the block from her home to her local post office where she worked, to take a full thermos of hot coffee to her Supervisor who worked every weekend. That was back in the days when a child could walk a block without an adult in a large metropolitan city. America was much more innocent back then, and people were much kinder and helpful. Those are good memories. It's sad to see what has become of the U.S. postal service over the years. So sad. Our govt is corrupt and over bloated. We need to weed out the corruption and begin spending OUR money on OUR country and needed departments and services. I'm hoping the Trump administration will do what is needed.

UPS will pick up their packages from their home if they want to give the business to them. This is a service that we are supposed to provide, encouraging our customers to use USPS. Your customer can submit an online request the day prior for package pickup that you will receive at your case the next morning. Look into that, it will probably satisfy your customers needs and you will be able to plan for it on the days the customer wants pickups done . Picking up their packages is our job
