He makes the game much more approachable. The fact that he doesnt get stressed over score or really even pay much attention to it helps to find the fun in the game and just loosen up.
These Bandon videos have been at once a delight and a little bittersweet for me--my dad and I were supposed to go earlier this month but delayed the trip due to Covid. Can't wait to return. In the meantime, Rustic Canyon will have to satisfy my links cravings.
Erik another great vlog, thanks. Your comment on caddies, yes they take away your green reading etc, BUT, you can always shake your head yes and just do your own thing. Also the only links golf I play are on video games, otherwise I would start drinking!!!! Take care and be safe.
Just got back from Bandon. Great weather in January. If you haven't been, go. The practice facility and the Punch Bowl are epic. Thanks Eric for letting me relive it. Old Mac was my favorite but by far my worst score. Butt kicked. No Cap!
Nice video Eric, thank you. Hello Patrick, it's good to see you back on the Tube, miss the videos with you and Brodie, so I am glad to see you playing with Eric.
Great video! Played Old Mac a few years ago and just played Sheep Ranch last week. Almost holed out for eagle on number 1 at Sheep ranch, only good hole I had that day though, in really tough winds lol.
My wife surprised me for my birthday in Feb with a round at Old Mac. I'm a horrid golfer (avg 97), but we gave it a go. Pretty course, not for the faint of heart. Wind was blowing the flag halfway down at one point, horizontal rain. The golfers we were paired with made an excuse to abandon us after the first hole (and we were glad they did cuz we were hacking it up from the start.) We couldn't navigate where to go and I twice aimed for the wrong hole before figuring it out. Minimal signage and no cart paths to guide you. The bunkers there are insanely deep at times (at least one hole had stairs to get down). I remember being in one bunker, staring into a literal wall on the green side that was buttressed with railroad ties. You could see balls plugged between them. Most of the players we could see eventually quit due to the weather, but my wife and I stuck it out and it eventually cleared and we really enjoyed the last 5 holes, just taking our time, no more players pressing us from behind. I think I got one par all day. Too spendy, too elite for my level of play, but we checked it off the bucket list. I'm sure better players would love the course.
So cool. Played it twice, very fun course. My favorite of the group is Bandon Trails, just because of the change of scenery from front 9 to back 9. I havent gotten to play Ranch yet though. Great content!
Great video as always. I am so happy I never had the bad habit of chewing on my tee. First, it looks incredibly douchy and second its actually pretty gross if you think about all the reclaimed water on golf courses.
Great job man,,, i.love the humor and the swing you no doubt have game but as you say on the bogey train lol thats me by the way IAM an 17 HC lol so I live on the bogey lol !!! Great stuff again Man totally digging your channel ty again for sharing !!! Great Humor I love it!!!
Not a huge golfer, but do you think it's possible on your lag putts you are pulling up a hair early and not contacting the ball low and flush? Noticed it on the 18th. Might just be Bandon Dunes greens purely being slow though. Love the series 👌
Thanks Erik! You need to come play and vlog the Ocean Course at Half Moon Bay. I’d be happy to help set it up for you. Lmk. Cheers and keep up the great work.
Thanks for the content Erik! I remember Pat from Brodie Smith's disappearing act golf channel, wouldn't mind some footage of both of you- he's a pretty entertaining golfer.
If it makes you feel any better, our caddie said he’s never seen anyone play the 10/11/12 stretch under par from any tees. This guy was an Aussie pro for quite a few years and plays with some serious sticks. Those holes are just brutal.
glad Patrick found a new golfing buddy since Brodie decided to start throwing frisbees. Honestly though do a video with him, he's really fun and entertaining to listen to.
Hi Erik, quick question for you! Of all the Scottish golf courses you have played in your life, which are your top three? If you do reply, thanks! By the way this is one of my favourite YT channels. 👍
I usually ask for a "B" caddy at a course I don't know. Usually just means a guy who'll carry your bag and pretty much ignore you otherwise, lol. But they know the lines off the tee...good enough
Erik, what lens do you keep on the course vlog camera? I'm just starting out and the 135 to pin on #11 looks massive! Much farther than it looks on the range
I just came here to comment and ask about Patrick. I have seen him multiple times on Brodies videos. But who is this mysterious guy? He has his own channel? Do you know? And how did he come in to play with EAL? Does anyone have any background info?
veterinaren I’m in the same boat as you...not sure how they know each other. We need some details from EAL. I think it would be fun to see a best ball scramble with EAL and Patrick.
Why have you changed your name?!!! You had such a great brand before with your actual name.. Idk if it’s just me but just preferred your old setup soooo much more
In hindsight, this was a good reminder that Old Mac was actually my least favorite course at Bandon. Holes aren’t as memorable as the other 3 courses that I played. Not bad, but 8.5/10.
Me: Pulls jacket out of golf bag and proceeds to find the nearest ironing board. Erik: Pulls light sweater out of bag as if he has a personal dry cleaner inside provided by Jones. He proceeds to walk off the back 9 onto a golf runway show to model said light sweater. Not jealous...just sayin
Something about these course vlogs just desperately makes me want to go out and have a fun, relaxing day of golf.
He makes the game much more approachable. The fact that he doesnt get stressed over score or really even pay much attention to it helps to find the fun in the game and just loosen up.
Amazing how Erik will play 9 holes in Oregon, fly to Scotland for a golf date, then come back to play the back nine.
The scotland videos are from a while ago
FREDDY SHRED HEADS whoosh
@@JebSones somebody missed the joke
Is it sad that I’m just getting the joke now?
FREDDY SHRED HEADS no it’s okay :)
the little flag detail at 11:11 was hilarious

I take my coffee with these course vlogs on Saturday mornings. The perfect tonic to ease my way into the weekend.
Currently recovering from a shoulders surgery. These videos make it much easier to keep my mind off of not being able to play. Thank you Erik
I love the "Endless Summer" feel of your vids!
Erik another great vlog, thanks. Your comment on caddies, yes they take away your green reading etc, BUT, you can always shake your head yes and just do your own thing. Also the only links golf I play are on video games, otherwise I would start drinking!!!! Take care and be safe.
Totally agree with the birdie statement. A birdie after a full day of bogies just makes you remember why you started playing in the first place.
Nothing better than a beautiful course and a great swing like yours thanks for the entertainment during quarantine.

I can't wait to go visit this place. Sand valley looks as good if not better. Hard to be the ocean though.
watching you putt his round stressed me out so much. HIT THE BALL!!! hahahah < 3 you
Another great one. Your videos are soooo consistent
Love the universal language of the missed putt hand gesture.
Pure class as always, many thanks

I just played today and played from the green tees and shot a 40 and 56 for a 96, had fun but super tricky course
So cool. Played it twice, very fun course. My favorite of the group is Bandon Trails, just because of the change of scenery from front 9 to back 9. I havent gotten to play Ranch yet though. Great content!
Did anybody notice that was Patrick from Brodie Smith Golf
Lovin' these course vlogs!
Great video as always.

Have to say I love your vids and commentary.
Man you make me want to play some links golf! Not quite certain of where to find links courses in the Virginia area though. Great vid as always.
Heading there in August. CAN’T WAIT!!!! Thanks for these vlogs.
Amazing! Which courses are you playing?
Random Golf Club Films Old Mac on Monday, Pacific Dunes on Tuesday, and Sheep Ranch on Weds. Seriously... is it August 10th yet?!?!
FINALLY PLAYING IT SAFE ON A SHORT PAR 4! NICE!
Nice course vlog!! The course looks tough!! I hope to get a chance someday to play a links style course!!
If it makes you feel any better, our caddie said he’s never seen anyone play the 10/11/12 stretch under par from any tees. This guy was an Aussie pro for quite a few years and plays with some serious sticks. Those holes are just brutal.
Loving the content Erik!
got my Ace Cam is Live hat today, love it 🤙🏼🤙🏼!
I've never played a course with caddie I wish we had one close buy .
glad Patrick found a new golfing buddy since Brodie decided to start throwing frisbees. Honestly though do a video with him, he's really fun and entertaining to listen to.
Loving the vids Erik 💪🏻
Hi Erik, quick question for you! Of all the Scottish golf courses you have played in your life, which are your top three? If you do reply, thanks! By the way this is one of my favourite YT channels. 👍
ERIK PLEASE DO A COURSE VLOG OF ANY LA GOLF COURSE IT WOULD BE SUPER COOL SINCE I LIVE THERE TOO AND LOVE GOLF
I usually ask for a "B" caddy at a course I don't know. Usually just means a guy who'll carry your bag and pretty much ignore you otherwise, lol. But they know the lines off the tee...good enough
Hey Erik, what software do you use for the shot tracer in your videos?
What’s the difference between Ballybunion and Bandon Dunes?
You can actually get to Ballybunion.
Made my day
Always happy to make a day!
Erik, what lens do you keep on the course vlog camera? I'm just starting out and the 135 to pin on #11 looks massive! Much farther than it looks on the range
Is the guy playing with you Patrick? The guy that plays with Brodie all the time? I know this 5 months old, but that looks like him.
Would love to play this course how Beautiful
Glad to see you’re friends with Patrick. I was worried he was going to switch to disc golf 🤣
Got any room for another passenger on the bogey train?
I love how Eric’s bad days are my best days lately 😂
What is your intro song? It's catchy
Thing I love erick is we know your an excellent player but you arnt afraid to hit a bad score cause it shows off the difficulty off the course
Do all guest players get a caddie on the bag?
Is the guy in the blue jacket with you the same guy that used to be seen in Brodie’s vlogs? Great vid Eric!
Are you playing with pat !?!? Need to make a full vlog with him plz !?
The word you’re looking for is “Nail” 😂
Please do a break 90 video for the pga
Coming next Friday my guy
We want more Patrick! Let him talk!
Whats the music at the start?
11 at Old Mac is a replica of the 17th at St. Andrews.
Super🎉🎉🎉
How long until we get Erik commenting on PGA events?!!! 🔥🔥🔥☄️
Why have you changed your name?!!! You had such a great brand before with your actual name.. Idk if it’s just me but just preferred your old setup soooo much more
Hey erik what do you do for a living? Erik: I play golf. Oh like professionally? Erik: no I play good golf and just post it
Sounds like Patrick at 8:30
The only real problems with Bandon is that for us east-coasters (absent a pandemic) it's easier to get to Scotland and might be cheaper.
Why do you put 100 feet if you can easily chip it? I just don't get it haha
11:40 a nail maybe? Idk
Come play some golf courses In iowa
That’s Brodie Smith’s old video pal. Dunno what’s happened to Brodie. Haven’t seen him put out a video in forever.
11:40 I think that would be a nail
The greens looked slow and hairy, hard to make putts when you have to smash 10 footers. You will break 80 soon, I believe.
Is that Brodie Smith’s friend Patrick?
Yep
Patrick!!
3 putt bogey train has to be the worst train... Way to shake it off
I did Bandon without a caddy and didn’t feel like I missed out.
You know what they say about your 3rd Bogey in a row.... 4th one is Free ;)
Hi Erik
Hi!
Bandon = Day 1 = a really scary proposition = spend 3X more time at the practice area than normal.
In hindsight, this was a good reminder that Old Mac was actually my least favorite course at Bandon. Holes aren’t as memorable as the other 3 courses that I played. Not bad, but 8.5/10.
How on earth do you end up so short on EVERY SINGLE PUTT
Your narration is really good though. Good voice
Erik, you're not going to recognize the fact that you hit a 330 yard drive on 16?!?!
respect
Me: Pulls jacket out of golf bag and proceeds to find the nearest ironing board. Erik: Pulls light sweater out of bag as if he has a personal dry cleaner inside provided by Jones. He proceeds to walk off the back 9 onto a golf runway show to model said light sweater. Not jealous...just sayin
the 7 was no Bryson 10 though...could've been worse
Mi piace
Why does Riggs get to have your job lmao
You look like you should be shooting 75 not 85
You're A Murderer Erik Lang !
