U are one of the best guitar teachers online. U are able to disect lines and phrases and make meaning out of it. Not everyone can do that. It makes u special. Kudos.
Thank you, I appreciate that feedback 🙏
Chase, you are a great player and a gifted teacher. I also feel compelled to mention that despite owning some very expensive guitars, I own the same exact Ibanez you play in your videos and it may very well be my favorite. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Love that guitar 🤘
Yes pretty please with the essential jazz vocab video. Definitely one of the bigger sticking points for me
Thanks for watching!
As always, I enjoyed the lesson and got so much from it thanks. I love the NO BS approach ! and examples
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
Epic lesson!
Nice work! 😎
Another excellent lesson! I really like the concept of bits of vocabulary like words in a language, and the idea that you can incorporate them and piece them together in order to learn to speak it.
Thanks Adam! 🤘
Great stuff
Thanks Enrico! 🙏
Hey Chase, I just re-watched your "The MOST Important ii-V-I Line to Learn First!" and "Full ii-V-I Workout". I love the structure where you go through different Principles and applying it to actual Tunes. Do you think you could do an updated short series of videos showing essential lines over the most common Jazz Chord progressions?
Like a full workout for:
Minor ii-V-I;
Rhythm Changes;
#4Dim7 in Jazz-Blues;
ii-V-I to the IV in a Blues;
Take the A Train changes ... etc etc?
And maybe how you would apply it in the context of a tune?
I think it would be a really successful series and with the tab included on screen would be a really useful set of resources for beginner jazz guitarists? Just something to consider.
Also, would you consider doing a video of your top 20 Jazz Albums for everyone to listen to to get 'inside' the genre (not guitar specific)?
Great ideas! I’ve got another full workout coming this week that’ll help you with that #4Dim7 👍
@@ChaseMaddox Great man! I'm really looking forward to seeing that! They must be so much work to produce, but they are so appreciated!
I'd love to see a minor ii-V-I workout as well as maybe a Comping workout? I feel like I can comp through a standard using Shells pretty well now, but beyond that it would be great to have a workout that starts with Shells and shows where you could take chord comping. I'm unsure how that would work in practice (maybe over a standard?) but anyway - loving the content and please keep it coming!
It's so beatiful lesson...
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
Weird comment but I love your coffee mug. Now back to jazz. Great lesson! Thx. ✌
Thanks! Got them from Target. Was gonna send you the link, but they don’t sell them any more.
somewhere in the video, during the 2- 3 note enclosures together, sounded a lot like Ellington's Do Nothing Till You Hear From Me. I looked in the Real Book. Sure looks like 2- 3 note enclosures linked together. In this case over the 5 chord targeting the 3rd of the tonic 1 chord. Then exact same phrase to target the 7th of the 4 chord. Thanks for another great instructional video!
Thank you for watching! 🤘
Fantastic. (!)
Thanks Tim! 🤘
Been calling this “Jazz Lego” for a while now, great stuff!
Haha I dig it! Thanks for watching 👍
Yea vocab ! Easential jazz vocab would be great .
I have an entire course on it!
Well structured lesson, the EJV licks are downloadable in a separate sheet ?
Thanks! Yes they are! EJV is it’s own course inside Chase’s Guitar Academy of 100 essential vocab and me demonstrating and analyzing each one.
lovely, I will check your site - but I have never seen such an Ibanez before, what is that?
Thanks! It’s an AG-85 👍
I like the color :-) Interesting , since it's not an expensive guitar.
👍
have you done a analysis of Henry Mancini pink panther theme?
I have not. What analysis would you want to see of that tune?
Why do you use economy picking when you ascend and don't when you descend ?

@@ChaseMaddox ok, thank you so much!
This lesson is fine, but definitely nothing “secret” here.. very well trodden basic stuff. Many well meaning teachers looking to earn a living on YT eventually use such marketing tactics. But there’s so much more to jazz, all of which creates a bottomless well a teacher can draw lessons from forever.. so, they’re not going to give you “The Secret” and undermine their business.
Lol. Would love to hear your suggestions for better titles!
Ok, that’s our dose of full blown stupid for the day. Great, GREAT LESSON for those of us interested in improving. Probably should block dummy from this awesome channel.
@ili626 do you have a RUclips channel?
I agree. Calling a scale a jazz pattern is just useless for anybody beyond beginning.
Is a scale not a jazz pattern? The pattern being a series of 2nd intervals.
Are you sure you respect wood? Ok....
You said Cm but the chord you used wasn't Cm was it? and the tab says C7. this is where you lose people Chase.
When in the video are you talking about? Please give a specific timestamp so I can clarify and fix if necessary.
