The product of a three year restoration which utilized many original and NOS parts, this pristine Beetle wraps a date-correct 4-cylinder, 4-speed drivetrain in a correct Light Bronze and Ice Blue color combination. If you're looking for one of the best and most unique collector cars your money can buy, welcome to the 'people's car'!
Sporting a slick coat of correct Volkswagen code L-245 Lichtbronze paint, this highly detailed California bug recently benefitted from a three year, nut and bolt rotisserie restoration which cost at least twice our asking price. Using a combination of NOS and restored original parts, the car's sculpted body was massaged and tweaked until its panels were concours perfect. Once that foundation was solidified, a smooth layer of basecoat/clearcoat urethane was professionally sprayed, painstakingly sanded and buffed into a spectacular wet-look shine.
Powering this sharp Volkswagen is a date-correct 1.2 liter air cooled 4-cylinder which wears a 2268804 serial number and produces a perfectly adequate 30 horsepower. Naturally, the peppy engine was completely rebuilt during the car's extensive restoration; and it runs strong, creating that famous and distinctive boxer gait which has become synonymous with all classic VWs. At the top of the block, a black 'Olstand' oil bath air cleaner funnels wind into a correct Solex 1-barrel carburetor that's piped directly to a Volkswagen fuel pump. To the left of that carburetor, a Bosch coil shoots spark through a traditional Bosch points distributor to fresh gray plug wires. And to the right of that carburetor, a Volkswagen generator spins between a Bosch voltage regulator and a correct silver "OEL" cap. Like the rest of the car, the engine bay is clean, road ready and nice enough to set up at any show, anywhere in the country. And with its high quality components, fresh gaskets and low maintenance design, it'll likely putter along forever!
Take one look under this solid VeeDub and you'll find a straight, fully-sorted chassis that's seen plenty of indoor storage and years of impeccable maintenance. The car's torsion bar front and rear independent suspensions have been completely rebuilt and feature both pliable bushings and fresh shocks. At the ends of those suspensions, traditional drum brakes are all it takes to bring this welterweight to a stop. At the back of the floor, power flows from the flat four into a date-correct 4-speed manual transaxle. And at the corners of the car, bronze 15 inch wheels spin 5.60-15 Firestone Deluxe Champions around pristine, highly detailed Volkswagen center caps. The bottom of this Beetle is virtually spotless from its front sway bar all the way to its straight-out Volkswagen dual exhaust; and you can cruise down the strip with the confidence of knowing that there aren't any hidden surprises waiting for you just below the surface.
Pop open this bug's solid closing doors and you'll find a correct, and stylish, Volkswagen code M-134 Ice Blue and Derby Gray interior that's an extremely comfortable spot to spend an afternoon cruising. The driver and front passenger enjoy large bucket seats which feature detailed white piping, and the rear occupants ride on a firm bench that's positioned directly between two pop-out windows. At the front of the car a restored and painted dash, which looks attractive in its simplicity, hangs a chrome trimmed speedometer over an innovative Bambus cargo net. At the base of the seats correct Volkswagen pedals, a painted emergency brake handle and a painted shifter anchor a cool combination of like-new carpet, color-keyed floor mats, and new rubber floor lining. At the sides of the car, body-matched door jams and window frames contrast well against two-tone side panels that feature tight map pockets, new chrome window cranks and traditional chrome door handles. Above the seats, a tight headliner stretches from dark tinted, chrome trimmed sun visors all the way to color-keyed sail panels. And in front of the driver, a restored original steering wheel makes good use of the car's small turning radius.
If you're looking for a fun and unique classic that's stuffed with charming VW character and so much more, this fully-sorted Type 1 is your ticket. Call, click or visit RKMotorsCharlot... for more information on this awesome car!

It says "correct" L-245 Lichtbronze paint, but it does not look like that color at all. The correct color appears to be L412 Diamond Green

"Perfectly adequate 30 horsepower". What an embellishing, smooth talking salesman but the car is beautiful. The only thing missing is the classic oval window which it just misses by a year.

I think a nice coffee brown interior, with tan seatbelt, and tan/oatmeal carpet would have been better

VW color code leatherette for the L245 Light Bronze was 75 Green/Grey. This is correct according to TheSamba color code swatches.
