Bloody awesome Jamie it's not always about the kill but about the chase and the beautiful breath taking Victorian high country is a great place to do it .I've spent well over 50 years roaming around the Alpine regions of Vic and NSW and never get tired of it ,better luck next time .
Great effort fella’s and some fantastic footage as always. Those two young stags remind me of my younger days in the pubs and night clubs of Melbourne. Here’s to a safe and productive deer hunting season for 2023.Cheers, Rob.
😄 🤣 think we all have a story like that in our youth! All the best for you too; looking forward to chasing goats, pigs, reds, sika and possibly sambar again this year!
Cheers Steve! Looking forward to it; maybe we could tie in an ADA pres night if the moons n stars align (literally lol), I'm thinking late October early November
Another great sojourn into the Vic high country Jamie! Really enjoyed this one, it’s not all about taking big stags. Awesome to see you passing your knowledge onto other keen hunters! Look forward to another Mountain man hunting film soon.
Good stuff mate! Great to see another video from you 👌 Nearly guarantee those shots weren't missed from being over compensated though, most likely lack of rear support. Millimetres of movement at the rifle become many many centimetres down range and only increases the further out the shot. Try use a pack or anything you can to act as a rear bag/support for those longer shots and you'll stop the high misses 🍻 Keep up the great work mate
Back in your natural habitat Jamie. Have I heard you mention not liking "long bombs" in previous videos it's all about getting close or am I confusing your video with Matt Merricks. Haha either way you both missed mate haha
Great video mate I wish these clowns that go on about the so called damage samba do to the the landscape ,bugger all , the gains of samba and other deer certainly contribute wealth and well being to many 🦌👌
Full tank of unleaded... now we can roll all day, if I can ride all night 🙌 that song sounded just as good on the treble speakers hooked up to the tandem bicycle in whangamata , summer 2001 - yeaaaaaaaaah boi 😆
Adreno, the spear fishing n wet suit shop. They're flipper socks. I'm due another pair though and would recommend reef booties instead of inner flipper socks
Choice one bro taking the other bro in to great samber country he hasn't been in before.plenty of deer4 him 2 shoot stay safe and shoot straight go the bay of plenty steamer's nz

Fantastic to see you back chasing Sambar again Jamie. Thank you for all the effort you put into capturing your adventures
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Really enjoyed this hunt, despite the two missed stags!
Great vid. Alot of patience needed for sambar in any country. Ive shot a few in nz now. Never ceases to amaze me how much lead they soak up
They're a species to invest time into! And as good'er landscape!
Good one Jamie. Thanks for mentoring the branch members.

Good stuff fellas 👍🏻
On ya mate, thanks for supporting!
Loved the footage and the commentary and made it through the first bit of the music but leaving now as the second bit of that type of music starts.
Apologies the music wasn't bearable

Great vid, maybe stand back from the winch line though?
Sound advice!
Excellent video guys.
What is that multicam bino harness that Jarvis has?
Its called a low vis gear harness, a small Australian business. The magnetic straps snap shut pretty effectively according to Jarvis
Feature length hunting video, and a cracker too! If I could give 10 likes I would!
Cheers Simon 🍻
Hi mate great video. I was just wondering where you got your hunting sock things you used . Thanks
Adreno, the spear fishing n wet suit shop. They're flipper socks. I'm due another pair though and would recommend reef booties instead of inner flipper socks
@@MountainMan_NZ awesome mate thanks
Been awhile, hope all is well.
Ah cheers mate, good to be able to travel and hunt again!
Snow and..did you have tyre chain's...?.
No I was borrowing a mates 4wd, and as it turned out, I didn't need them anyway. It was the other 4wd who got into a spot of bother..
@@MountainMan_NZ I'm surprised that none in Australia uses them..just saying they make life easier in the high country.....
