This resonates so strongly with me. People tell me that what I paint is good, and people want to buy what I produce, but every time I start a picture I wonder - is this the one where I'm going to be rumbled? That they're going to talk amongst themselves and say ...'You see, she's not really very good after all.'
But I keep going, and I'm always surprised (and relieved) when what I'm doing turns out ok. Thank you for posting this, it's so good to know I'm not alone. Onwards and upwards 😊

Improvement is inevitable when you keep working. ...also... there is room in this world for other than the super skilled and talented. What you make contributes to the world even if it is far from perfect. Perfection is not required. ...except from the pickiest audience. ...and they are not all that matters. Besides... taste differs and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Absolutely a thing. I have AuDHD and just started painting a year and 9 months ago at age 68. When people started wanting to pay me for my art, it was the weirdest mix of pride and fear. That is the only way I know to describe it.

@@tessarotmify i can't speak to the 'tism but I completely understand. Everyday people watch my stuff and like it...it's weird to me. Also for further ADHD viewing I made this: ruclips.net/video/x40kdaw0GmY/видео.htmlsi=2tdrYdy58zRhpULJ but it's kinda long and people like us might get bored 😅
