@vandogg14 the supercharge kit runs around 6500$ plus install.the motor has a bore and a mild comp cam as well as associated boost upgrades and a heavily modified transmission and after-maket drive shaft and lowering system.
I own a 99 Chevy 4.8. I want to install Comp cams and a supercharger.I accept any suggestions.(Which are preferrable for this type of engine?) And of course I'm installing a Carven muffler
Was that blower originally for a 454 big block chevy cause I found one that looks just like that and I was trying to figure out if I could make this work on my denali 6.2
Andrew Casper the kit is bolt on and nor much modding is needed just cutting some plastics ,if your referring to the drivetrain with your question ,you will break almost all the stock drivetrain components at some point after install with exception of the motor depending on how much boost you run.stock will last for a while but 460le will give out as will the rear diff and u-joints in rare cases they last but eventually the low end torque wins the battle .thanks for watching !
Hi may I ask you a question I just want to know how do you put the oil in the truck I have the same engine same supercharger and I cannot put the oil in it
You have to swap the valve covers. I have the same setup, you have to put the oil fill on the driver side, it ends up close the firewall and you have to use a funnel with a hose to reach it.
Hi bud, I own a 2000 Chevy Suburban with a 5.3L V8 engine. I am looking to increase HP for smoother driving on highways. Initially I thought about buying a low mileage 454 V8 or an 8.1L V8 GM engine for a swap. I looked into it and the cost was close to $10,000. My next option to increase HP is to add a nice supercharger. From your experience, how much HP did you gain? How much of a difference did it make on highway driving? driving my Burban on highway sucks because going uphill forces my engine to kick into overdrive which is extremely noticeable and very annoying. It sounds like my engine is fighting to gain more HP to maintain the speeds or even accelerate when going uphill. Did you do the work yourself? How much did the entire project/upgrade cost you? My last question is did you have to add a inter cooler and where did you place it? I would really appreciate your feedback. I appreciate it bud. Thanks
+Kudro Rico hi, ill try to answer your questions in order ,in most cases 6 lbs of boost on the ls based motors 4.8/5.3/6.0 add about 120hp and 150ftlbs .highway drivings main advantage is passing power ,when the truck is at idle speed most chargers are not applying boost. super charger kit alone will run you between 2500-7500$ depending on the model. how much money is put in by now over 20k , I dont have a intercooler ,I have a cooled blower and use water methonal injection spray to keep boost temps low. hope i answered your questions .my opinion is if your looking for more power and dont wanna break the bank ,look into an Lq4 6.0 swap ,and a 6l80e trans .thanks for commenting new vids coming soon.
Track N Trap thanks for video and input 👍👍 could you give me your opinion on what I can do to get the absolute most out of this 2017 Chevy express 3500 Lt engine to give this 1 ton van some big muscles ? Cost isn't really an issue right now as to this isn't something I'll be doing right away. Like I was telling kudro rico this is a project van for me I wanna build my dream van over time. Just making a really big wish list lol thanks man
I use water/methonal spray kit from snow performance ,under full boost my intake temps are rarely over 90 degrees with that said I now run 16lbs of boost on it.
Hi there , i am going to be getting one soon for my 2000 silverado 5.3 single cab , is this thing going to spin my tires ? Would u recommend i get it ?
+danibthefreshest sorry I don't have the instructions,if you have all the parts it's fairly straight forward to install ,however you will need to relocate oil cap and valve covers and some of the throttle body will require changes .thanks for commenting anything else feel free to ask
i have the exact same supercharger i want to install it on my 2002 gmc sierra its stock i was told i can out 6-7 punds without damaging the engine isbthst true? also i need the crank pulley fir it do you know were i can get it?
hi.yes that sounds correct 6-8 lbs is usually safe on a stock setup provided the motor is running properly prior to boost .for pulleys i would check with whipple or john bond performance also has the older model supercharger parts.as of recently i find jon bond to have the best selection , imo. thanks
Been over a a decade and 50000+ kms ,still strong as ever .build it right or have someone who knows transmissions do it for you and you won’t be crying like the “LS” fan boys do over their busted trans . Been doing this LS thing before most people knew what it even meant .
not 100% sure ,if i recall the 2005-2007 might have a different intake style ,pretty sure you can make these work on any LS style motor however you will need the mounts and pulleys ,most of them can be found online through whipple or jon bond performance, thanks.
no sorry i dont have a link ,I believe they stopped making this roots style blower and have replaced them with the radix model, but I would try jon bond performance as he has a good selection of parts and may be able to help you out. thanks
SVT BEAT Honestly I would now go with the Magnuson TVS1900 supercharger. It is the most efficient blower on the market, they have revised the design even more and they still make them, and it will still make a ton of power on your truck with a proper tune.
ay bro i bought the same whipple side mount for 5.3 stay updated watch my videos rite now im only ls1 218/227 stock heads electric fans.. imma only do 60lb injectors & bigger fuel pump & stock supercharger pulley 4.5inch once im done imma upload a video sometime this month & dyno tune it.. you dont mind me asking how whp you made in the dyno
Back when I made this video it was on 6psi ,it made about 380ft lbs and 360hp ,some thing along those lines ,I now run a new setup on 15psi with progressive water meth injection based tune, truck has gone through a lot of major changes since this video .ill be posting vids this week ,thanks . Any questions feel free to ask
Track N Trap ay thanks man at least sharing your info many people like to be private but nice set up man & are you intercooler or just straight methanol??? in couple weeks imma finish throwing whipple & methanol & dyno tune im gonna upload videos when its done
Polin Jimenez García just go on the whipple supercharger website and look up your engine.. here just did it for you make sure you really know what to do man cause best belive u will invest some good money lol whipplesuperchargers.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=21
David L been looking into an e water pump. Just don’t know how to wire it up and all that. Plus I know if water pump coming off I might as well swap cam while I’m at it. Upgrade from a stage 2 to a 4 or something better
I own a 99 Chevy 4.8. I want to install Comp cams and a supercharger.I accept any suggestions.(Which are preferrable for this type of engine?) And of course I'm installing a Carven muffler

Music to my ears 😎
Do you have the stock 706 heads or did you upgrade to different heads?
Hey I got the same truck. How much was it for the supercharger and what else are you running besides the exhaust.
What kinda millage you get in that thing roughly?
What model whipple supercharger is this? I have one and can't find the serial number
What's the power running thought about getting one for my 6.0 lifted cat eye the gen 4 or something like that replaces the intake with the blower
where did you get your sc kit
How much you spend for the whole set up
How do u add oil ? Because the supercharger covers up the oil fill pretty much
How much hp gain. And what kind of exhaust?????
Do you know the name of it I have the same one but can’t seem to find a serial number for it
Do you got any more vids? just pull out my 5.3 on my 2000 silverado still donk know weather to turbo it or supercharge it
yes i have more videos ,i have done a lot of work since the original video ,i will be posting videos soon as it is not summer where I live yet.thanks
What brand is the charger?
@MrMrpreston11 on 6lbs of boost the kit should safely add about 125 hp and about 160 ft lbs of torque and the exhaust is borla true dual .
Track N Trap I bought an old suburban with this set up what injectors did you use
Hey does anyone know where to get a supercharger in Illinois blower i want one hopefully they got one in stock i need to know where please?
Is that a Paxton or Whipple Supercharger?
When you did this upgrade what all did you need to replace or reinforce to not have the supercharger tear anything up
Andrew Casper the kit is bolt on and nor much modding is needed just cutting some plastics ,if your referring to the drivetrain with your question ,you will break almost all the stock drivetrain components at some point after install with exception of the motor depending on how much boost you run.stock will last for a while but 460le will give out as will the rear diff and u-joints in rare cases they last but eventually the low end torque wins the battle .thanks for watching !
@Track N Trap - Where did you get this supercharger setup? Im struggling to find a blower setup for my 2000 silverado 5.3
Thanks in advanced!
???
i got one for sale
Christian Ochoa how much
Kevin Taylor I sold it already they make good power & even more on a 6.0 .. im going turbo
What kit is it ?
I sound like a moron but along with the supercharger what else did you have to upgrade/replace?
Valve springs and rockers. Depending on boost levels: rods, pistons. You could get away with just valve-train really
Hi may I ask you a question I just want to know how do you put the oil in the truck I have the same engine same supercharger and I cannot put the oil in it
Take it for a oil change and watch them😁
You have to swap the valve covers. I have the same setup, you have to put the oil fill on the driver side, it ends up close the firewall and you have to use a funnel with a hose to reach it.
that sounds like a stock cam
You don't need internal modifications to run a Whipple supercharger kit
I have stock cam with my supercharger too
Can u tell me what's done to ur engine I have a 4.8 and I wanna supercharge mine to
Coco county

Did it hurt ur fuel economy much?
Get like 214/218 cam and 2000rpm locking stall converter. Done
@@superjoe3499where did you buy the supercharger?
no intercooler?? Doesnt the engine knock at WOT durings the summer months?
I use water/methonal spray kit from snow performance ,under full boost my intake temps are rarely over 90 degrees with that said I now run 16lbs of boost on it.
Track N Trap you got 16psi out of that supercharger
Hi there , i am going to be getting one soon for my 2000 silverado 5.3 single cab , is this thing going to spin my tires ? Would u recommend i get it ?
Rick Estrada yup i spin out my radials
different crank and pulley, i threw out the whipple module and the electronics and got a custom dyno tune. whipple tune is inconsistent
Track N Trap wat crank and pulley did u use and get it from
Thats a monster ..
So why does the engine cover look different on this truck than the one my 01 has?.
I had to cut some of the plastic to make it fit ,also it's a 2000 ,might be a different design ,couldn't tell you for sure .
Track N Trap do you still have the instruction manual for this whipple
+danibthefreshest sorry I don't have the instructions,if you have all the parts it's fairly straight forward to install ,however you will need to relocate oil cap and valve covers and some of the throttle body will require changes .thanks for commenting anything else feel free to ask
Tommy Hammond his.is a 5.3. They all look alike
Different motors, the 5.3 in 2001+had a redesign
i have the exact same supercharger i want to install it on my 2002 gmc sierra its stock i was told i can out 6-7 punds without damaging the engine isbthst true? also i need the crank pulley fir it do you know were i can get it?

whsts the name of this supercharger
It's a whipple 2.3 axo
what about the 4l60e your going to rip it apart

why do they say their only for 2003 & up when it fits in a 2000 is there somethings you gotta mod
not 100% sure ,if i recall the 2005-2007 might have a different intake style ,pretty sure you can make these work on any LS style motor however you will need the mounts and pulleys ,most of them can be found online through whipple or jon bond performance, thanks.

sleeper
Supercharged. But mechanical fan?
That's embarrassing
David L yeah dude could probably make 40 more hp by going e fans.
Electric water pump would help alot too but just by having the Whipple is firme. Having a propeller noise isn't cool these days
David L been looking into an e water pump. Just don’t know how to wire it up and all that. Plus I know if water pump coming off I might as well swap cam while I’m at it. Upgrade from a stage 2 to a 4 or something better
For a truck? Cam swap n e water pump it's going to cost plus your new belt for the pulleys
I own a 99 Chevy 4.8. I want to install Comp cams and a supercharger.I accept any suggestions.(Which are preferrable for this type of engine?) And of course I'm installing a Carven muffler
