Hi Rosie, Ronan here. Thank you so much. I appreciate your comment :) I'm interested in knowing more: what's something about this video that spoke to you?
Ronan!! Thank you for this second season of videos! I commented a while back (around the time of Advanced Home Workouts) because your videos were great. This is one of the questions I asked (how much protein and what types of protein would be best). Thanks a lot for following up on that and making this series! Really really enjoy the way you explain. From this video, my main "aha" moment was the explanation of how many calories we need to "budget" to get a gram of protein. I even paused at that point because that way of thinking will be super helpful for my planning going forward. I have some catching up to do on these latest videos (busy month at work) but looking forward to catching the rest throughout the weekend. Muito obrigado! Muchas gracias hermano!
Best Tips:👇👇 Do not skip breakfast. Skipping breakfast will not help you lose weight. Eat regular meals. Eat plenty of fruit and veg. Get more active. Drink plenty of water. Eat high fibre foods. Read food labels. Use a smaller plate.
Also if you are exercising regularly, your body will tell you what it needs. You won't crave junk food and fast food. You won't need to restrict calories. It will tell you exactly what you need to eat for optimal health and to keep exercising. But yes all of your other suggestions are great. Lots of veggies and fruits, whole grains, lean meats and proteins, and healthy fats.
@@guidedbysunshine333 hi, Ronan here. The way I think about it is whether your breakfast happens early in the day or at 11am is still breakfast. I mean, it's the meal that breaks your fast, right? In a way, there's no way you can skip a breakfast meal :) I tend to do the same and have my "breakfast" later in the day.
Hi Rosie, Ronan here. To me, listening to your body is an art form :) You develop such a level of personal awareness when you dedicate time to pay full attention to what your body feels like at any time, right?
Breakfast? Regular meals?? But intermittent fasting and time restricted eating is proven to be very beneficial in weight loss, body fat to muscle ratio optimisation, reducing inflammation, triggering autophagy, healing the gut, improving glucose sensitivity and increasing BDNF
I found that going full carnivore made all the difference. When I occasionally allow a "Stupid Day" and eat carbs, I find my mind gets clouded, my gut gets bloated, and my attitude goes down the tubes. When I lose the carbs and go back to fish, fowl, meat, using only butter or coconut oil to cook, my attitude immediately improves and I have more energy. The Stupid Days I allow to remind me just how important the carnivore way is for me. I do a few supplements in case you're wondering including Cod liver oil, D3 DHA DHEA, and a couple others. I drink mostly and a lot of water. I add a bit of salt to my water for electrolytes. (Like Gatorade strength, no more I even add a bit of salt to my green tea.
Hi Sam, Ronan here. I spent a few months last year reading about and researching the carnivore approach and this year I tried it as a 3-month experiment. To my body and lifestyle, it worked wonderfully well. I reintroduced vegetable and carbs for another 3 months and right now I'm on another season of the carnivore approach. I'm planning to cycle on and off. Here's something that made the difference for me when it comes to electrolytes: besides adding salt to my water, I also keep the eggshells and make a powder out of them. We have some studies showing that this is one of the most bioavailable sources of calcium. I also keep the fish bones, then bake and grind them and add as a topping to omelettes or use as a rub for steaks. I can feel from my training performance how this helped and I believe it's due to the electrolyte content.
Mindvalley Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I like the ideas and may try them out. I allow myself cheese and eat the skin when I eat smoke salmon, a personal favorite. I make sure to eat beef liver now and then which I bake with butter and a BBQ rub/spice. No sauces with sugars. I find butter and various rubs/spices are a great substitute. Also, I used to suffer from daily headaches with frequent migraine flair ups. Since adding salt to my water and tea, I now only have occasional headaches/migraines when the barometric pressure fluctuates from weather. Much better overall. I find that going carnivore makes me WANT to work out. Never joined a gym until a couple of years ago AFTER I lost 75 pounds doing carnivore. For years I failed with the low carb approach because the cravings would always bring me to eating crap. I eventually got to over 250 pounds. (I'm 5'10"). After getting to about 166 I started the gym thing and now mostly work out at home with free weights so I've gained some muscle mass which brings me to about 180 as the new normal. I also do a monthly 48 hour fast and earlier this month did my first 72 hour fast. (74) It's weird how great it makes me feel. Also, it's way easier coming from a carnivore diet going into the fast.
@@Mindvalley In the world that we live in, advising going crazy on the meat sounds pretty selfish... Human AND earth health and well being is something to consider! #eatlentils😂
@@nicolasblum9975 hey Nicolas, I see your point. Personally, I don't advise anyone to do this but I will never hesitate to engage in conversation with someone who's already doing it. I do this as a personal experiment to address specific digestive issues but because we don't have enough studies that can show the long term effects, that's something I keep for my role of studying edge cases and using it as a tool when appropriate. Hey, Ronan here. Love the comment :) the one on the left art I did with FeRod from Brazil. The colorful one on the right arm I did with Dynoz Art Attack in Greece. Both artist are mind blowing. FeRod has such a technique that when we were doing my tattoo there were other artists who travelled just to come and watch him do it.
Hey John Mario, good to see you here, man :) bone broth can be a nice complement as a protein source. It does provide protein but usually the servings give you only 5-10g, which is not too much. So I’d not make it my main source but definitely include it as a complement. The cool thing is that bone broth provides good nutrients like collagen and different minerals that are good for your gut and digestion, can support you joint health, immune system, and other possible health effects. You want to be mindful of the source though. It’s common to find cheap brands that add a lot of preservatives and other ingredients that wouldn’t make sense to ingest if you’re trying to improve your health.
Delete the Music Track. It's completely distracting. This is not a commercial / infomercial so it is not needed. Much more powerful and less distracting without it.
