Sorry for the late reply mate. I'd say Mick Carter if I'm honest. Not because I'm a massive Mick fan but because of his previous examples of strength. He's not afraid to throw a punch when he needs to and also Luke only managed to beat Ben up from sucker punching in the face and beating him while he was down. Mick has fought blokes who are even bigger than him and still won. Stuart, Osman etc. Plus Mick has a brilliant punch in my opinion 😂 he's knocked Dean out while in water, and all his punches tend to floor his opponents. Neville, Woody, Stuart etc. He's also quite dangerous when he's angry

I'm sorry but Max isn't a very convincing villain. He's never been the best fighter, he's always gotten manhandled by anybody who has the slightest bit of street cred, Carl never fought back against him because he was trying to get Max sent down or he was trying to turn people against him. You guys always focus on the isolated incidents of people doing okay against other people, Max Branning can barely qualify as a hardman, before or after prison time.
Darksul Yeah you have got a point I've never looked at Max as a hardman, but I think he did change somewhat after prison time that made him into a sort of force to be reckoned with, but more mentally than physically, and I agree that most of the characters who he's fought with have beaten him sometimes easily, even Ian Beale managed to out strengthen him for a bit during the Christmas fight. Physically I think Max is mostly just an average man really.
he's gone down to Bradleys punches like he's been punched by George Foreman and thrown around by Alfie and neither of these guys would make EE's top 40 hardmen. Ian did better v him than he does against most people.
Max did have a lot of hardman moments so I do class him as a hardman, but I wouldn't put him in the top 20. Maybe top 25. He's also got a really good punch.
