    This is the best Oscar introduction video on RUclips. Start here, then watch the rest of his videos. Highly recommended

    CPAP friend gave me great tips on reading my OSCAR data. As a CPAP beginner, I've learned that OSCAR is unknown by many in the community. He was very thorough and took his time explaining things to me, including how the manufacturers miss a lot of events/arousals that are then reflected in our "Events Per Hour" on the machine. CPAP friend truly feels like a friend!

    Thanks mate for getting on a call with me to discuss my OSCAR results and about my experience with sleep issues. You did a great job explaining to me some of the things I should look out for (leaks and flow limitations) to further improve my results, and also gave me some peace of mind to talk to someone with a similar journey. Cheers!

    Nice timing! I'm going to have a CPAP machine from next week. I didn't even know they had SD cards. As a data geek, I'm looking forward to using OSCAR. I can feel myself being sucked in to your devilish monetization scheme....

    What time zone are you in, if a person wants to schedule a zoom meeting? The calendar doesn't really say what time zone the schedule is booking for - thank you.

    How can I make sure I have UARS? I bought a resmed cpap to self diagnose myself.

    • @CPAPfriend
      @CPAPfriend  Месяц назад +1

      UARS is just a catchword for people who don't have conventional OSA, and as of more recently the AASM has conflated the two (OSA and UARS). Meaning, you don't really need to figure out if you have UARS but instead should figure out if you have sleep-disordered breathing that leads to physiological and other consequences. The best way to do this is to do an in-lab sleep study.

    I can't figure out why my "graphs are switched off." At the bottom RH corner it also says (0) graphs..(in Daily tab) how do I turn them on? rezmed air sense 11.

      Make sure data is imported for that specific day, and then you should be able to enable them in the bottom RH corner. I hope this helps!

    I have a Lenovo yoga and it doesn’t have a place to put the memory card. What do I do as far as that goes? Can I not link my ResMed profile info?

    • @CPAPfriend
      @CPAPfriend  8 месяцев назад

      Not all CPAPs are OSCAR-compatible. You can consult this list: www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php/OSCAR_supported_machines
      You might have to get a different CPAP if you would like to use OSCAR, if it's the case that yours is currently not supported. There is a chance it's supported down the road, if it's not already. You can reach out to the developers on apneaboard to ask. Your machine may have a modem in it with the data files being sent somewhere? That might be worth looking into too. Sorry, I don't really know what you mean with the resmed profile question.

    Ok, I rent my cpap through my insurance through a device company. This company is refusing to let me take out MY sd card?! Is this legitimate? USA. They say they will sit down with me and show my info, but no appointment on hold told will call back. Days and no call… This seems bogus!

      There's a discernible effort to harvest as much out of new patients as possible by these intermediaries. Some are genuinely helpful, but it's been my experience that most are just there to upsell you on stuff and monopolize guiding your care despite them not understanding PAP therapy very well. I can say with confidence you're better off on somewhere like apneaboard.com than paying for an RT.

    I have a windows desktop which I don’t use since I got an IPad. Downloaded Oscar but I can’t put in a Profile. Did miss some preliminary screens asking about sleepy head since I didn’t know what they were talking about. Can you point me to someone that can help? I’m 82, been using a Resmed 11 for about 30 days. I’m trying to figure out if the number of what I think are near awakening (arousals?)show up on the time lines

      hi! I personally would go to apneaboard.com and then to the 'software support' section. I would be beyond surprised if they didn't know how to resolve your issue. Good luck, and let me know how it goes!

    I have A long full beard. My leak rates are high. I ben told shave it off. Using a fisher & paykel simplus mask with a res med air sense 1. I just started downloading oscar 1/1/ 24 after stumbling across our channel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

    • @CPAPfriend
      @CPAPfriend  11 месяцев назад

      It certainly could be contributing to your leaks! Some other troubleshooting steps: adjust the tightness of your mask, switch the cushion size of your mask, make sure to wipe it down before sleep of oils, make sure you're not using a pressure that's higher than needed by reviewing your data, chinstrap / soft-cervical collar, purchase some mask liners, etc.

      I've used a stretchy girl's hairband for a chinstrap. It's soft on the skin, stretches to adjust, and wide so it cups under my chin and cheap. Works well for me.

    Can I do this on an iPad?

    • @CPAPfriend
      @CPAPfriend  8 месяцев назад

      If you can insert an SD card, I believe so, but I'm not certain. My advice is go to apneaboard.com and check the 'Software Support Forum'. They're pretty helpful in this area.
