The Philippines remains poor largely because past governments have failed to invest in a modern national electricity grid, leading to frequent brownouts. This lack of infrastructure makes it difficult to attract serious international investment. Meanwhile, the government seems content to rely on sending Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) abroad to serve as laborers for the world. Until significant changes are made, the country will continue to struggle with poverty and widespread begging on the streets.
yes true 👍 those who do get a leg up, educate & professionalize, usually move abroad as well it’ll be a long time before the Philippines makes any significant move as a Tiger Economy
Filipinos remain poor because they get paid by the day. 600 pesos a day, is not enough! Filipinos should be paid by the hour, just like the rest of the world.
In the interests of contributing to the discussion, I offer my humble input as follows. FLICK OFF usually works well for me when the begging is a little much. A cold stare in addition gives that extra OOOMPH to put it over the top; to let them know you mean business, so to speak. Think of it as encouragement to go and hit a softer target when you have reached your limit for the day. Use your discretion in the mix also. I find it disgraceful and disgusting that certain adults have kids for their own selfish reasons and care little or nothing about getting these kids educated and speaking fluent English so they have a chance in life. Have an excellent day ya'll.
I'm with you, the beggars can be overwhelming and know oh so well how to take advantage of a good natured person like yourself. It's hard because you want to make a difference in the community you live in but giving them small handouts just reinforces their behavior as you mention.
theyve been starved of tourists with rainy season and walking street construction these last few months so if we have a little gathering at the Hot Spot like in this video they come running
The brainless people who give to beggars create the problem. I never give to beggars. Only one time i gave 50 peso to a man with one leg, because my father has one leg, and he can't help it.
parents send their daughters to work the bar in AC so the girl can send money home. i was talking to a girl earlier this year who told me she sends money home because her parents are old and don't work. i asked, "how old are they?" she said, "50 years old."
So sad to see that in AC but it’s everywhere. During the Xmas holidays so many beggers standing outside churches here in SoCal or on intersections as well as the exit from freeways. That’s just part of life
I've never had the pleasure of bumping into you on my occasional Weekend in Angeles but I did bump into Ace. Was surprised to discover that he's actually a nice guy and nothing like his onscreen persona! As for that honey guy, he's a pain in the butt too!
One of those 'honey' guys got uncomfortably aggressive with me on my last visit. Started swearing and cursing when they realised I wasn't interested. Think it might of even been the dude in this video because I remember it was a younger gent.
i dont mind some vendors like Sammy and even some honey guys but the honey guy in this vid didnt understand No and the whistle blower girl not filmed was out of control annoying
@@chubsDubCthe honey is not real honey, it’s a known scam. Ask the tourist police. Don’t let your viewers believe it is real honey as the scammers selling it tell you. I’m surprised your gf doesn’t know about the honey scam.
The so-called raw bee honey is cheap 10 peso sugar syrup they sell to (in their opinion to stupid foreigners) for 500 pesos or about 9 bucks. Tell your friends. If anyone doubts this ask the tourists police. We need to expose these scams, it’s not right.

Keith looked awesome!!! Great video. Beggars break my heart.
lol Sorry Keith 🤘
Could be worse, Keith should wear Manchester united jersey.
Junior was my biggest pain for begging. Like a hemorrhoid that won't go away. I had to stay away from that area.
yes i can see that 👍
NICE APARTMENT
AC Is brutal for beggars
Or say meron na, I already got that.
They are probably changing the sign from Walking Street to RED STREET.
i believe you’re right 👍
You look good in purple Keith hehe.

My girl friend plans to be out of town Sunday. She already has been told I am going to Score Birds for the Bikini contest.
Tell your GF that even before you go, you are certain that you will not see any girl who comes close to matching her beauty.
yes i tell her that every time 👍😃✌️

Ayoko.....I don't like
Who is that Barney?

it could have been 👍 this guy was getting aggressive and discounting like i would eventually think it was a good deal, i dont like honey
@@chubsDubC Tbh it doesn't even taste like any honey ive ever had before lol. Something is off with the taste.

Ace, i don't like him or his channel
a lot of people don’t
Say walang pera
Ayoko
You should do a video correct, you claimed you buy the brown sugar syrup that foreigner’s are tricked into believing it’s raw bee honey from Baguio
i told the vendor i bought some to keep him away from me, it didnt work… i would never buy honey or whatever that is from a street pusher
@ new visitor’s don’t understand that it’s a complete and total scam. Just correct the record live
I make it point to never give money to kids - nothing good ever comes from this. If you're going to give, I recommend limiting it to senior citizens.
yes good advice 👍
Seems too always increase this time of year.
yes i believe you are right 👍
