This movie is not just about Aliens attacking earth, it's about love, faith, religion, family, and. man trying to keep it together after losing his wife. A great movie, one of the best.
I just watched the movie for the first time today (March 6th, 2019) and I have to say I was not expecting it to be as deep as it was. I was in tears at several key moments throughout. Especially when he was holding his wife’s hand when she is about to breath her last. Most alien movies are about the action with not too much brain power needed but this was something so different. The overall theme I got from it was that things happen for a reason and do not just happen by chance. I don’t wanna get all preachy but I was raised Christian and it spoke directly to my faith in God such as it is. Too often do I take the things I have for granted and not value the many gifts that I have been given. Each and every day of my time here on this earth is a gift (no matter how bad or how good I’m feeling at any given moment.) This film kinda opened my eyes to just how precious life is and I’m really glad I watched it. The film score is really impressive too! A lot of thought went into the making of this film! God bless everyone!
The Aliens are a spiritual symbol for malevolent beings, i.e. demons, and they were killed by "holy water". Watch it through the eyes of faith, it's a spiritual movie about looking for signs/miracles & that there are no coincedences there is a grand design & we are looked after by God, even if it may not seem so. Such a beautiful spiritual story as are most of Shyamalan's movies, about believing is seeing & there's more than the eye can meet :,)
What a wonderful words man :-)
And forgiveness
Great comment.
This movie is criminally underrated
"Thats why he has asma" always gets me.
@@kabellion thats one of the intricacies of the film that never ceases to suprise me everytime I watch it 😌
2020... and still crying at the end... lovely scene
2023 now 😢
This track...makes me cry.
to me too, it's a beautiful and very underrated soundtrack
Of course ... it's called God, and our exposure to it/him changes everything. The film was about "Signs" but the music itself is a sign - how perfect is that? Don't know why God operates like this, but He does - through the Holy Spirit.
That part at 2:44 has given me chills for a almost 20 years. My mom bought the soundtrack back in 02 and would play it in the car for my sister and I. Absolutely phenomenal musical score.
Truly a beautiful soundtrack.
Sounds like you got an awesome mom. My first memory with this movie was watching it with my mother and sister when it was on tape. I will never forget my mother’s reaction to the Alien that was shown on the television in the closet.
kids were laughing
@alexnegrete7835 no kids laughed in the theatre in 2002. And my mom pissed herself and had to leave.
@@alexnegrete7835 I was a teen and this movie scared the hell out of me.
As an adult, I seriously love it.
Still scares the hell out of me!
A lot of people talk of this movie as a horror movie and that the music is creepy. My impression is that the music actually has some kind of happines and a feeling of curiosity to it. Wanting to know more about the aliens and being excited that we arent alone in this world, that is what it sounds to me.
yeah, everytime i hear this song it gives me hope
It's God...
I lost my mother in 2018 so watching this movie again hit in a whole new way. Lots of tears...I miss her so much...
She misses you too, and she is always with you, waiting to see you again. When the time comes. Make her proud.
Remember that.
Very beautiful soundtrack... I wish more scores were like this... you can feel the emotions of the characters through the notes
Tangle wood317 check out his score for "Snow Falling on Cedars". equally an emotional marriage of music and film. my favorite of his
Mike K Sounds good, I will check it out. Thanks.
Tangle wood317 you really can. It’s so powerful in my opinion. I really liked the movie honestly, it made me feel things that I think are important & meaningful in a healthy life. I was actually planning on watching it again very soon, it’s a relevant movie no matter the times.
I wish it was on Spotify, but for some reason you can’t listen to it there, which is REALLY dumb cause this is my favorite soundtrack from any movie.
I will forever be obsessed with this.
Agreed, hope the effect the film and this music have on me NEVER fade. It's all in the Psalms - look at how those writers PLEAD that God/the Holy Spirit should not desert them once it has been with them.
my grandfather just passed a few days ago and for some odd reason , this song got stuck in my head the day it happened .. the emotions from the song connect with how I feel and it just keeps replaying over and over in my head .. one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard , it's amazing what music can do to you throughout everything in life ...I honestly think music is everything
The Holy Spirit works through music, but something like James Newton Howard's "Wyatt Earp" music is amazingly good and beautiful (actually TOO beautiful for the times and circumstances present in the movie). In contrast, this theme emanates from and matches the theme of the movie. The movie is about signs of God's presence, yet the movie and its music convey that very presence to us who live in the real world beyond the move! Can you see the wonder of that? So there is music, but then there is THIS music as a direct conduit from God via a film that was also a direct conduit from God through M. Night Shyamalan.
From 03:00 to 05:30 is the reason James Newton Howard and Shyamalan should always work together. From Graham realizing that things happen for a reason, Merril grabbing the bat off the wall, the glasses of water, then to him praying that his son survives had me on a major emotional rollercoaster. If Signs came back to theaters for a couple days I would go just to be surrounded by Howard's amazing score.
Beautiful and eerie. One of the best soundtracks for sure
I listen to this whenever I get down about the passing of my dad from covid a year and almost half ago. It reminds me how precious and beautiful life itself is and gives me hope
Great soundtrack.......couldn't find this on cd anywhere back in the day......i looked in a dumpster behind a book store one day....there it was..couldn't believe it!!!
Just another "sign", as life imitates (true and near-perfect) art.
This movie always leaves me in tears. The final minutes are a roller coaster
If you look at a recent interview with M Night Shyamalan, you will see that this movie "came to him" as an antidote to 9/11. And unlike his typical films which only come with great effort, this one apparhently came easily to him. Of course it did. With the Spirit in us, we are still us, but the version of us in which love prevails over hate and fear and doubt. How can a mere film possibly do anything to make good for such a sick tragedy as September 11th? It seems impossible, yet the good and love in the movie - and emanating out from the movie to all of us here - is greater than the evil done, as it must be. Evil is random and stupid, but good is eternal and has meaning. Good powers the cosmos, empty as it may seem. And we just know all that ... if we allow ourselves to "see"...
This movie is about so many things I can't finish counting. Love, forgiveness, letting go, aliens, fear of the unknown...
It's another shining example of Mr. Howard's genius. The man can do no wrong when it comes to turning music into a central character of every single movie for which he composed the score. That 3-note trill he uses is quite amazing. Like a modern Mozart, he is a gift to those of us who love great musical scores.
I always thought John Williams was Mozart of the movies. Maybe I was wrong
I can show love to others. But deep inside I still feel emptiness. I don't exaggerate showing love. It just comes out naturally some how. In a way I think it's showing me to be the light for others.
It may not be emptiness you feel, but overriding melancholy. I had that for most of my life - I could see the beauty in things, but it always seemed to be associated with the sadness of time passing, the beauty going on but our lives being short and maybe meaningless within it. Then at last the Holy Spirit came and showed me that whatever it is from the cosmos that is encapsulated in the music we listen to here (which I call God) is actually joyful and beautiful and full (and of untold power because it IS eternal). And for me the melancholy has now gone, even as the beauty remains and is far enhanced. A problem here is that our frenetic daily lives and news events happing in the world keep trying to stamp again and again on all this wonder - on the world we could have if only... And I am NOT sure how to combine normal everyday life with the spiritual ecstasy of whatever it is that is present in "Hand of Fate II" - thanks to the Holy Spirit flowing through James Newton Howard; but a part of my coping and striving and building is my writing to you, my dear brother somewhere out there, Manuel. May peace be with you... instead of that emptiness. It can happen for you, as it did for me.
I love this movie. One of my favorites of M. Night Shyamalan. The sound track makes the movie come alive. Awesome!
1:20 the moment you realise all of your pent up angst about yourself and where you fit into the world finally makes sense. You don't need to worry, you never did.
This made me Cry every Time when i hear it!
I miss my son Jack Andrew Gamez 23 Aug 2010
Joseph Gamez All will be well. Stay Strong.
Rip his soul......
Sorry to hear that. Stay strong!
He's alive, I just miss him whenever he's away. Thanks
Dont worry he is in the hands of God now, you will see him one day
2:43 this part is forever in my mind
This song is so perfectly beautiful it really makes you feel grams faith is restored and returns to his church to spread God's divine words about not losing faith and Hope even against his other creations from different worlds👽
uno dei film più belli che abbia mai visto
Once listened to this song coming out of a ridiculous lsd trip, it matched the experience so well
Understandable, the afterglow is peace incarnate

I’m not religious but I thought it was quite touching and it made me smile when I saw him returning to his faith again because in the end of the day, sometimes that’s what someone needs to give them hope again
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Did someone save me?
History 10 I hope so brother.
Yeah, I think someone did!
His lungs were closed, no poison got in. That's why you had asthma.
The extremely⏱brief and very simple - yet somehow 'faintly¹captivating' and 'richly²emotional' - musical🎶segments from ¹0:26-0:36 and ²2:43-2:54 are my favorite parts of not only this last piece, but of the whole 𝚜𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚜 👽𝚜𝚒φ𝚗𝚜🛸 𝚜𝚒g𝚗𝚜 𝚂𝙸𝙶𝙽𝚂 𝚜𝚒g̟̼̙𝚗𝚜 sound💿track in general.

Still hits all the right notes after 20 years!
Love Howard and shyamalan’s collaboration
THANKS. YOU CANT FIND THIS ANYWHERE. ALSO IF ITS FOR SALE ITS LIKE $70
HIghly sounds like some thematic pulses from King Kong at places but then it was James Newton Howard who wrote the score for King Kong as well!😆
amo essa trilha sonora, ela me trás boas recordações.
I had my shares of taste of having my fate tested. I have and can prevail on anything. Yet I keep going every time.
2021 and this hits hard...
This soundtrack is a masterpiece. It’s seamlessly terrifying and uncomfortable and comforting and hopeful and peaceful.

I often wonder....
Why?
Whats the point in it all...
Going to work.... money, troubles. It all means nothing whatsoever in the end.
Nothing matters.
For those that believe, there is a promise that it all does matter and someday it will all be revealed.
What if Signs but irl ⛈
But that was the message
@@jacob_massengale I know. What do you think?
@@flouserschird so far it seams the aliens are quite a bit more indifferent than id like. we could use their help. they don't seam as interested in hiding either tho. frustrating. as far as miracles vs luck, I go back and forth. sometimes things happen that make me feel as if God is winking at me, but most of the time i don't see the hand of fate guiding anything.
