Is this available anywhere? I too agree with what Taha Mansour has said about seeing the MO process being performed poorly. I would enjoy learning his technique.
I just got volume 2 of that billet project and I'm only half-way through but omg thank you so much for the reccomendation! Billet chi is literally a perfect routine.
Dan - Out of the top 5 effects, the only effect that you may have an issue with is #2 - Figmental although in the book, it is mentioned how the force works in other languages as well. There is an example of how it is used in the Japanese language and they also give you an out or two even though I have never needed it. Thanks for asking because I completely forgot to mention that!
Thank you so much David. I am definitely checking out the complete elementary package, right&left, and billets for the modern mind reader. I will probably get Doug's book eventually too. I am always looking for non-mainstream mentalism effects and creators to spark creativity and grab new routines that participants have never seen. So, thank you for dedicating time to enrich our lives. Happy New Year:)!
Fantastically useful list. Thank you. One effect I really enjoyed this year was Alexander Marsh's close up automatic writing routine (and its variations) from his second Penguin Lecture.
I love your reviews! If you look at other reviewers it’s almost as if they copy and pasted each other’s top 10 list, I love to see that you actually take the time to show hidden gems! Happy New year!
amazing honest reviews as usual, your personal informartions and tips that you add in your reviews worth to be a set of paid DVD's. always grateful to you. please keep up 💪💪💪
Hello ! aww, thank you , I sent a message to Nestor he was super happy and thankful and so am I ! And yep, I totally agree, his routine is terrific ! I was super glad he allowed me to include it in Billets for the modern mindreader vol.2 ! Happy new year everyone !
Julien - I have tweaked your handling a little... I found a slightly better way to perform it. One of these days I will need to show you. You might like it!
@@UnbiasedMagicReviews i'd love it ! Let's have a zoom session soon ! Tbf, Nestor doesnt perform it that way, i'm just doing it this way cause...i'm very comfy with my switches hahaha 😅😁 but the structure can be adapted with any switches !
Doc, I always love how you pick stuff that's off the beaten path and not some overhyped commercial thing (I'm looking at you, Nexus Wallet). I've been doing mentalism a long time and try to be competent in all the basic techniques, but I hate billet switches. I've never found a routine that I liked where I had to do a switch, so all I know is the most basic Annemann switch. But upon seeing Billet Chi, which looks so startlingly real, I know what I'm doing with my hands while I watch Cobra Kai on Netflix tonight. :) Thanks, man. Oh by the way, my favorite wallet this year was a tie: the Shadow wallet--and the manuscript to construct the SwitchCat wallet (brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, sort of the $15 version of a Viper wallet that you can construction in about half an hour). The Climax Wallet--which is better in some ways than the Stealth Assassin Wallet--gets an honorable mention.
Chris...yeah... I played around with my friend's Nexus wallet which I was shocked got such rave reviews here on the popular magic review channels. Sadly my buddy told me that the zipper on his Nexus wallet already broke. You have to be careful with all the hype out there.
Can you mention your opinion on Peter turners how to control mind and the follow up which I cannot remember the name of ? I’m not convinced his stuff is bs or not I would line to hear your opinion please
I think they are both great. The Banacheck version is perfect for your own personal version of Mental Epic whereas Figmental is a complete routine on its own with the patter and presentation already included. Figmental cannot be customized or the force won't make sense.
Great well thought out review as always. Where can I get Nestor Dee’s -Billet Chi and Scott Creasey’s Trident please. I found all the others on your list Sincerely and happy and healthy holidays
You can pick them both up at your favorite magic dealer. Both are available at Penguin. Check out Julien Losa Billets for the Modern Mindreader volume 2
As always, love it. Thank you David. Please keep 'em coming. The doctor stuff should really come second to us fans of your videos, they won't mind, right? 😁
Liked the review... Will differ in only the Best Magic app of 2021 going to Cognito by Lloyd Barnes. I Got the Billets for the modern mindreader Vol.2... Nice concept & liked his SEE too. What switch do you use for Billet Chi? I think the Anneman's Crab version was easier for me than the Unfolding + Folding switch...
I don't own Cognito but from what I have seen, I wouldn't buy it. So many better magic apps where you don't have the spectator go through some strange process on "your" phone. Having them scroll through photos as you ask them questions just telegraphs a process of elimination method. When it comes to any mentalism/magic that involves a phone, its always much better on the spectator's phone. BTW - I have my own handling for Billet Chi.
Amazing Review as usual. thank you. I am glad I bought Doug Dyment's book although I did read about the magic squares and others, did not realize that Figmental was a direct effect from that book. Your review is always the best with so much information. Thank you again for the Luke Jermay effect which I just downloaded after your review. This is how reviews should be. We miss out some gems, we go to your review channel and we get the updates. Thank you.

Wow I'm so humbled to be part of your honorable mentions, thank you so much David ! Means a lot !
Thanks for stopping by! Looking forward to your next project....
Did he pronounce your name correctly?
Is this available anywhere? I too agree with what Taha Mansour has said about seeing the MO process being performed poorly.
I would enjoy learning his technique.
I waited 366 days for this.
Sorry to keep you waiting but we had to wait until the end of the year!
Thank you so much for the kind mention David!
Awesome! Best magic Review and Knowledge Channel Out there. Thank you so much for your Selection and Assessment 🙏👍🏻
All of your reviews are outstanding, and somehow you found the space to move up a notch in this champion review.
Thanks so much! Really glad you found my review helpful.
Another yet mind boggling packed well researched powerful insights and materials. So appreciative for taking the time to share with us.
Glad you enjoyed the review.

The person who said he has been "waiting 366 days for this" expressed my feelings perfectly.
Thanks Dan!
Hi there 👋
First of all, thank you very much for this list.
Does any of these effects require you go perform it in English language?

Excellent as always
Thank you!
You should put links in your description so we know where to go to get these tricks.
I'm sure he doesn't put links because those who really want to get these effects will take the time to search for them on their own.
Seriously - I'm not here to advertise magic. I'm not a magic promoter. There are other magic "review" channels on youtube that do that.

I would love to see a performance of Billet Chi to see what the billet switch looks like in the real world.
Based on your past review..Would you say that Figmental is better than the one by Banacheck in the Mental Epic compendium?
I think they are both great. The Banacheck version is perfect for your own personal version of Mental Epic whereas Figmental is a complete routine on its own with the patter and presentation already included. Figmental cannot be customized or the force won't make sense.
