    Thank you for the great tip about sizing. I'm a l/xl and I was shopping/ thrifting just the other day at a thrift store in my community and I saw a beautiful dress/tunic in a 2x from "free people" (which as you know can be very pricey). So I bought it and will wear it belted as a dress or over a pair of white jeans with a pair of heels. I got the dress/tunic for $7.99 -25% on sale. When I went on live to see if I could find the dress on line, I found one very close for $169.00! Thanks again for the tip.

    If you tie a black hair bobble around your belt it creates an adjustable loop to tuck into rather than folding it over at the front! Love the video ♥️

    Also, if you are altering garments yourself for yourself, you can use curved safety pins instead of straight pins. Makes it a lot easier because you can take the garment on and off (even a few times) without worrying about pins popping out. LOVE your channel.

  • @elite1426

    Your work is great, especially on slippery fabrics which are usually more challenging to work with!! To help ensure symmetry, you may be interested in folding the skirts in half so you're working with half of the back side and half of the front side. That way, you have symmetry from front to back (back is usually a little larger for our hips). Both sides of the back will be equal to the other as well as both sides of the front will be equal to each other and the front will be a little smaller than the back (back is larger to accommodate our hips. If you try this tip or not, you're still fabulous!!

  • @kellyswain7308
    @kellyswain7308 4 года назад

    You can turn your sewing pins sideways (so they will be crossed). SO, initially they can be straight when you have the dress on as you are trying to get a true fit, but once you take the dress off and before you sew it put another pin in it in the opposite direction (cross them- they'll look like a lowercase "t")and then remove the straight pins. This way the straight pin wont get caught in the sewing machine track and it will keep both sides of the material together to ensure its even on both sides.
    Love the ideas!
