Ken Burns' "The Vietnam War" brought me here - after I figured out that it was a different track not specifically for that production (for which Reznor and Ross also did the score).
It perfectly encapsulates how so many underestimated the Vietnamese and it ultimately led to their defeat. You can just hear the looming doom in the background as the narrator talks explains the French artillery commander who thought he had to much firepower and later went on to commit suicide.
Yeah it took me a whole year to find this goddamn song. Wish documentaries would properly credit songs in the damn credits
The same documentary brought me here. I always liked to check the list of used songs in the credits. A fantastic and very shocking documentary which taught me very much about the Vietnam War which I had known very little about before, because it isn't usually taught in German schools unfortunately.
@@sarcasmenul They did so in the credits, though... it's how I found the song
@@chuckbuck5002 Also when Robert McNamara lost faith in the war, and urged President Johnson to disengage from Vietnam.
I've listened to this well over 100 times and it never gets less terrifying.
This song is odd, in that it’s chilling and a little unnerving, yet strangely peaceful at the same time. So atmospheric. I love it.
knowing what the movie is about dictates how you feel, too.
Bone-chilling and peacefully appealing.
Chilling is right!
One of the best songs off the soundtrack. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross. Masters at work.
"I can't tell you a whole lot about the ambush. I was one of the first to be shot..."
"Marines don't leave their dead and they never, never leave their wounded. And that's why I'm still here."
The soundtrack perfectly captured Salander's character.
The time measurement on this song is peculiar. Most songs have a 4 or 8 beat time measure. This one has a 7 beat measure! Count for yourself!
That soldier Musgrave from the Vietnam doc....holy fuck man. Dude had a hole blown through his chest and was passed by like three docs thinking he was gone.
4:23 "When they put me to sleep I thought; boy this is really it. It was kind of like, okay god. In your hands I deliver my spirit."
When Robert McNamara doubts the whole Vietnam war...
Your heartbeat goes unusual in this ost
imagine walking through any woods at night wearing headphones and this starts playing
They're in the fucking trees!!!
why would anyone do that? FUCK THAT
Listening to this in Da Nang was a different experience
i do not think this track was released
in da nang
My respect goes to John Musgrave Semper Fi

So amazing, like the other songs.
❤️
Does anyone know what this number is called on spotify?
Reminds me of Dollhouse from the Alice: Madness Returns soundtrack.
Another soundtrack written by another NIN former member, Chris Vrenna.
@@rubendacostaesilva8442 Oh really? That's amazing.
