I have one baby in babyland at Cedarhill Cemetery, Port Jefferson NY, for nearly 27 yrs now.. I lost my 21 yr old too and they allowed me to put her close to her in the cemetery, even though she was 21. I can't even describe the pain of losing your child. There is no pain greater than that kind of loss. My heart goes out to the other parents that have lost their children as well. Those two were the only ones I had.
Midnight Brian, your losses are so similar to mine. There is no time clock on grief and your words are so true..... The loss and void cannot be described in words. You are in my thoughts, my heart and my prayers.
In one of the local cemeteries here is a section for infants and babies. My father has a first cousin who lived a day and is buried in this section. For nearly 70 years the grave was unmarked. Since I have a good rapport with a local monument company, I was able to buy a marker and have it placed on the baby's grave.
My grandparents were married in 1914. They had 10 children but only two lived past one year. My grandfather always cried when he talked about those babies.I know they are all in heaven.
One of my twin girls died 3 days after her 10th birthday, we buried her in baby land just because she loved little children and we wanted her to be with other children.
There is nothing more difficult than losing a child. I've lost both of mine. The first was 9 1/2 months old and the second was shortly after his 23rd birthday. Thank you for acknowledging these precious souls.
So sorry to hear about your loss, it's especially heartbreaking for Mothers because you have carried your Son or Daughter inside you and that is the very closest of bonds.❣🌹
There is a grave in our local cemetery of a 3 year old little girl and her headstone is shaped like a beautiful pink princess castle. So sad but so beautiful at the same time
There are dollhouse graves that the people of the city have kept in good condition, even the women replacing the worn out furnishings. One was a dollhouse the father built for his daughter to give her for Christmas. It sits at her grave. I can’t think of where these are, but I’m sure the internet has it.
My mom is buried in Ogden, Utah and near her grave are the tiny headstones of five siblings, who died on the same day in a house fire. My mom always said that they were the five babies.
I lost my firstborn(daughter) in 1961. She was 4mos old. You get "through" it, but you never get over it. It looks as though they take care of the cemetery there. Thanks for the post.
Thank you for this tribute to all the little ones. My parents are buried in OKC and every time we go visit we pass the Babyland near their resting place. It brings home how precious life is. I also appreciate the respect you always show on your videos.
@@Whittdocs It just moved me that something so beautiful came out of such sadness. I like to visit cemeteries and see the history. While I understand that young deaths were the norm, especially early in the last century, seeing young lives cut short still makes me cry. There is a grave at the end of the row where my friend is buried, and that happened recently. When I go and see him, I visit his mom's grave, then the little one. In that cemetery, there is also a row of children. I was visiting my friend and saw his dad, who took me on a tour, pointing out the children from his family.
I know what it is like to burial a baby. I have one buried in Baby land at the Vinita, Okla cemetery. He was only 22 months old when he died. Keep up the great work that you do. I try to watch every video you do.

I worked in a large cemetery years ago. One day, a man came in asking where Babyland was. I tried to get a name to look up. He got very nasty, just tell me where is Babyland. So, I told him there were seven Babylands at that cemetery. He looked like a balloon that got punctured.
I’d never considered that someone might be surprised by the existence of Babyland, but I guess that just means you haven’t been touched by that particular tragedy. My mom had a baby girl who was born sleeping about 14 months before I was born. I’ve visited my sister in Babyland all my life and always take a moment to look at the graves and pay respects to all the other babies there. Some graves are clearly kept up and visited. Some are not. I always guessed that many people who chose to bury a child in Babyland did not already have an established family plot nearby. Most people aren’t expecting to lose a child. I know my grandparents plan to be buried in the same cemetery as my sister, but they’re not there yet, nor is anyone else from my family. (I’m from Texas, for reference.)
Friend, I know folks think that loved ones have been forgotten if there are not flowers or tokens of memories. I lost my brother when I was 16, he was 17. I lost both of my parents. I noticed 2 babies next to each other. Both of the same Jones parents. They died a year apart. So sad. My 2 died before birth and were in a mass cremation with others. They are buried behind a lovely old chapel.
Tho I don't understand why we have to lose little ones... I can only assume it's because God needs more angels, but the hurt that it leaves behind is so unbearable for the families😢💔I could not live through such a tragedy. Many blessings to everyone who has had to endure such a horrific journey. May they all Rest In Peace and the ones they have left behind may they somehow find the strength to carry-on. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.
So many woman cant even get pregnant and so many get pregnant and deliver a dead baby. Those mamas would do anything to experience a live child and mama relationship no matter how short the time was. Always remember that no matter how sad your grief is there is always someone who is sadder. Amen .
I just found your channel (again)! I started watching it awhile back and then somehow got off track! But now I'm subscribed and enjoying cemeteries like I have all my life! I will continue to enjoy your channel. Thanks for sharing! Pat
I really enjoyed watching your channel today. It brack's my heart to so many little one that have a chance to grow up and enjoy there time here on Earth. But we all know that God has other plans for us all and he wasn't ready to let these babies go. God please you and again thank you for this video.
At Holyrood Cemetery in Westbury, New York they have dedicated part of it to infants and babies who were stillborn or died after birth. My twins are buried there. They were born in 1989. One lived for 3 days and the other was stillborn. They will always be with me. 😥❤
In my area (North West Wisconsin), all the cemeteries have areas like this but they are not named. Part of the reason is that the plots are smaller and cost less. As medical things improve, there are fewer children in these areas.
This isn't an unusual custom...I live in Des Moines, Iowa and at least two of our city owned cemeteries and many cemeteries have sections for babies and young children. My cousin was born with cerebral palsy and died when he was five or six. He is buried in the Glendale Cemetery children's section. My dad's cousin's baby was beaten to death by a babysitter and is buried in the children's section of Laurel Hill Cemetery.
How on Earth did you manage to find the strength to walk through this part of the cemetery without completely breaking down? I have an eight month niece. Being an aunt is the most special thing in the world to me. Losing someone her age, even younger; I don't know how a parent manages to get out of bed in the morning. My heart breaks watching this. God bless you filming this with such sensitivity and compassion.
I don't know if this was answered or not. But at the cemetery I worked at we had a baby land too. It was not just so the babies could be in one spot. Mostly it was for the parents. If the parents did not have space or were going to be cremated and they needed a space asap they were pointed to baby land. Sometimes the family moves (like in the service) and they don't know if they will stay in the area, so they place the care of their baby with us. Yes, years later we had to exhume the casket and send to another state, area per the parents request so that parents can reintern the baby near them. We've had times when there was no one in the family who had the funds to bury their baby and were put in baby land. Because they are so small, no vault is needed and their caskets are made that they don't need one. We have some families who still come out to lay flowers, but for the most part, they just want the worst part of their life behind them and so they go without. We try to keep the area clean and make sure that everyone has a flower once a year. I hope this helps.
God bless you for sharing your videos of Baby Land I have a baby girl in the beautifulest cemetery of Ellijay Ga Chancey Faith Marlow However her head stone says Faith Marlow. She was asked in faith gave in Faith and Faith took her home Praise God in Jesus Mighty name Amen
In the town my husband, and I are from there is a cemetery with a section called Babyland. It breaks my heart to see,and to think of the anguish of all those those who loved these little ones. We nearly lost our second son who was born prematurely, and coded 6 times. There is a lot of diffence though between nearly, and actually losing your child. My heart goes out to each of the families represented here.
lots of those babies Graves down from me in eastern Ky. lots were from 1917-1919 influenza outbreak one has a mother and 3 or 4 of her infant to toddler Graves and it breaks my heart when I go visit but know they are all in Jesus arms now
I remember those pictures of the Angel guiding the children over a dangerous bridge. I wish I could find a vintage one of that scene. Guess I’ll have to hunt for it. I’m a pretty good hunter. At least these graves looks like they are doing maintainence. Some graves they are in a corner and lots of overgrowth.
Watching your videos have you ever been to Covington KY around the Linden Grove Cemetery? There's so many important people. It be great to see a. Video of it 😀
All cemeteries have a baby section, a lot of stillborn babies are buried for free by funeral homes, and the cemeteries have a plot of ground that is donated free.
My parents buried my older brother in July 1971. I was able to locate his grave as an adult; I had very vague memories of visiting his grave as a young child. My husband and I were trying to have our own baby at the time and it just made me ache to walk among all those children.
There is a beautiful, very large, “Babyland” part in Lexington Cemetery in Lexington KY. My sister, Jahala, is there, passed at 10 days old in 1951. Beautiful pink granite stone with angels.
@@Whittdocs I haven’t had the opportunity to go there in the last 20 years as I’m now in Missouri. If you do go, would you please visit her and send my love. Jahala Tate, Oct 10 - Oct 21 1951. Mom and Dad went home to her last year.
It is not unique! In Jacksonville,Florida on Main Street is Evergreen Cemetery that is miles and miles long. There is at least one baby section there. There is a Jewish section there and even a black section that dates way back into the 1800s. Before vaults were used. So watch it when you sink up to your knees! I have done that when I worked there for At Need! There are sooooo many famous people there it would be hard to count. But they surely have a section for babies. Keep up the good work!!!
It's so sad those precious little ones didn't get their chance...But one thing for sure babies and children are really going to heaven because they don't have to be judged like the rest of us, they are purely innocent.I'm just being honest, I hope I get that chance one day to see my older sister who passed when she was 3 months old!
My brother passed away at 2 1/2 years from a birth defect in 1979 and my parents couldn't put him in a babyland in the cemetery. My mom still can't even look at a child's stone without crying. While my parents knew they would lose my brother I was born in 1978 and there was a cord accident that cut off my oxygen before I born, I was born without a heartbeat and I wasn't breathing. My parents almost buried me and my brother in 10 months times. I asked my mom one time if they would have put me in a babyland in the cemetery and she said never! "They break her heart"
In the UK we have in cemetery specific place for babies who have passed, it's known as the baby section, I'm one of the mums who has a little girl buried there, it broke my heart, but see more & more all the time it's heartwrenching 💔💔 the UK started their plots in the 1990 so all babies are together the same as the crematorium Gardens. So many of us have angel babies 😔
Where I'm from the cemetery has a baby land my great great grandparents are buried near those infants I think of has they are watching over those precious babies
I know some mamas who have lost children before thwy were borrn say "but I never got to know my baby" let me say this. You did get to know your baby. You knew what you really liked eating (cravings) and disliked (made you throw up). You knew that certain loud sounds would make your baby jump or certain movements would make them kick you (if they were old enough for you to feel them). You may have craved certain foods that you completely disliked but seemed your baby may like. Also you may have craved non-edible things. For those that had babies lost at a much younger age, I can say that you too built a bond that you didn't realise. Such as foods you used to like and could not have during those times in the beginning or certain smells that made you feel sick or you could rea ly smell for the first time. Yes they are small things but those are the things you need to hols onto. Even though the woman's body changes and most of these changes are due to hormones but I believe that in ways the baby is involved in some of this also whenever a miscarriage, stillborn or death shortly after birth happens. This is what one needa to cling to whenever they lose their baby. To all those mamas out there that lost a baby or more than one baby/child, I am sorry for the loss of your little one (even if they were adult when they passed, they were little once too). We each go through different levels of loss and is can be gut wrenching no matter what. No I never lost a child but I did lose a parent when I was a child and I have also lost furbabies (true not a child either but they are very close for me). Each experience of loss is extremely difficult for everyone and if only I could just sit down with someone and let them talk about their baby/ies I would. Find help and support if you are struggling cause you are not suppose to live in the pit forever
Would love for you to come to my neck of the woods, Wisconsin. Plenty of famous to see, from politicians, the creator of Betty Boop and even a munchkin! Love your channel!

One headstone for a young lady the Faces of the forgotten came across said ‘so many hopes lay buried here’ and that’s so true for babylands everywhere
That is so very true.
I love this comment. Thank you so much.
So many woman cant even get pregnant and so many get pregnant and deliver a dead baby. Those mamas would do anything to experience a live child and mama relationship no matter how short the time was. Always remember that no matter how sad your grief is there is always someone who is sadder. Amen .
I think One of the saddest or hardest thing a parent/s have to do is, to bury a child especially so young
I agree. So heartbreaking.
🤗❤😇
I just found your channel (again)! I started watching it awhile back and then somehow got off track! But now I'm subscribed and enjoying cemeteries like I have all my life! I will continue to enjoy your channel. Thanks for sharing! Pat
Thanks so much, Pat! I love cemeteries too. And I’m still visiting. Thanks for joining again.
May their precious souls rest in peace.
Thanks for that comment.

I really enjoyed watching your channel today. It brack's my heart to so many little one that have a chance to grow up and enjoy there time here on Earth. But we all know that God has other plans for us all and he wasn't ready to let these babies go. God please you and again thank you for this video.
I really appreciate you watching. Thank you so very much.
At Holyrood Cemetery in Westbury, New York they have dedicated part of it to infants and babies who were stillborn or died after birth. My twins are buried there. They were born in 1989. One lived for 3 days and the other was stillborn. They will always be with me. 😥❤
I am so sorry to hear this.
Here watching from Indonesia,, i believe they in heaven, and i like backsound music.. 👍
Hello to Indonesia. I believe they’re in heaven too. Thank you for this kind comment.
Thank you for sharing this sad yet so full of love & untapped potential taken too soon.
Thank you so much for watching.
This is so heartbreaking and sad!!!💙💙❤❤😞😞🙏🙏
In my area (North West Wisconsin), all the cemeteries have areas like this but they are not named. Part of the reason is that the plots are smaller and cost less. As medical things improve, there are fewer children in these areas.
God bless all those little souls.
It's always so sad to see small graves where my parents are buried the cemetery has a plot for babies we visit it very time it breaks my heart
Thank you for the video. You are a kind and sensitive man
Very kind of you to say. Thank you.
Often times large areas of infant and young graves reflect the community helped burry the children.
Thank you for sharing that.
I didn’t know that. Thank you so much for sharing.
My brother is in one of the baby sections in another state. 1950
I really appreciate you sharing that with us.
It was a tough visit to make. I just wanted to film this to honor those young lives.
Owensboro Kentucky Is Where I live Sorry I Missed You Thanks For Up loading This Video
I can't imagine losing a child it would rip me apart 💔 But God has alot of angels. God rest your little souls RIP
I really appreciate your insight. It definitely helps. Thank you so much.
How sad. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching.
So sad! God Bless these little Angels

I’m so sorry to hear. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Thanks for this heartfelt comment.
We have a Babyland area in our town’s cemetery. Forest Hill, Morganton NC. Thanks for showing this one in Kentucky.
Thanks for sharing that with us. I didn’t know how common these were.
God Bless you sir..
I truly appreciate that. Thank you.
lots of those babies Graves down from me in eastern Ky. lots were from 1917-1919 influenza outbreak one has a mother and 3 or 4 of her infant to toddler Graves and it breaks my heart when I go visit but know they are all in Jesus arms now
Respect not only to the children who didn't get a chance to grow, but also the family who had to bury a child. Or Children. Uncomprehensible.
Thank you for this comment.
In my hometown we have a Babyland plus something else rather unusual is a plot for peoples dogs/cats.
Video of it 😀
I have never been there. You inspired me to look it up. I need to go now. Thank you.
We also have a Baby Land section at Conrad Memorial Cemetery, Kalispell, Montana. The sad part to me are the unmarked graves.
I appreciate you sharing that with us.
Thank you Whittdocs, beautiful video tribute. 💕💕
I appreciate that comment. Thank you.
@@Whittdocs My pleasure 💕
All cemeteries have a baby section, a lot of stillborn babies are buried for free by funeral homes, and the cemeteries have a plot of ground that is donated free.
My parents buried my older brother in July 1971. I was able to locate his grave as an adult; I had very vague memories of visiting his grave as a young child. My husband and I were trying to have our own baby at the time and it just made me ache to walk among all those children.
Oh I understand. It was a very sad experience.
The cemetery where my husband is has a very large babyland section like this as well as its own scattering garden and columbarium
Sympathies To ALL Who Lost A LOVED One Too early!!! If This Doesnt Give a person a Tear, They Be TOO Hardened Of a so-Called Heart.
I cannot imagine the heartbreak of losing a child. I honestly think I wouldn’t be able to go on.
It would be devastating.
There is a beautiful, very large, “Babyland” part in Lexington Cemetery in Lexington KY. My sister, Jahala, is there, passed at 10 days old in 1951. Beautiful pink granite stone with angels.
I had no idea. I go to Lexington cemetery every so often. I need to visit. Thank you.
I really appreciate your comment and insight. Thank you.
It's so sad those precious little ones didn't get their chance...But one thing for sure babies and children are really going to heaven because they don't have to be judged like the rest of us, they are purely innocent.I'm just being honest, I hope I get that chance one day to see my older sister who passed when she was 3 months old!
Thanks for this heartfelt comment.
May they rest in peace.
I’m so sorry to hear this. Your mom sounds like a strong lady.
I’m so very sorry to hear. Thanks for sharing that with us.
It is so sad to lose a child
It sure is. Heartbreaking.
This is so sad you do such a a great job in paying respect
I really appreciate that. Thank you so much.
Such as foods you used to like and could not have during those times in the beginning or certain smells that made you feel sick or you could rea
ly smell for the first time.
This is such an inspirational comment. Thank you so very much.
Very moving .. thank you for sharing,, may they all RIP x
I appreciate that. Thanks for watching.
Would love for you to come to my neck of the woods, Wisconsin. Plenty of famous to see, from politicians, the creator of Betty Boop and even a munchkin! Love your channel!
