Nick Chapsas! Keep doing what you do and I hope honeypot keeps making great content like this! Your C# content was much needed for on RUclips where there really wasn’t a whole lot of quality c# content.
I like these two points: 1. Everybody wants to own the user experience. Everybody wants to be the top of the value chain. 2. We stopped pulling against each other and start pulling together.
When I look at the photos of these people who changed the world by believing in the idea 💡 and pushing it makes me think I want to be in team where we do the same. This documentary made me cry 🥲. Love Kubernetes 💙.
I love this sentence: "The truth is, there was no zero-sum game. The best ideas from that race, are still with us. They're consolidated now, and they're consolidated so far into the latest checkpoint which is kubernetes. But the truth is there's going to be something that will replace kubernetes." "Typically the higher you get, gives freedom for the system underneath you to also evolve and sometimes become simpler."
I love that even though division was created for the "Container Wars" Kubernetes was still accepted and used as a way for servicing any business and creating the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Unity is the best way to push us further as a people!
Me, 30 years, trying to be a Developer. I would be proud to be part of this process of Innovation. To be part of that level. I am inspired to make a positive impact.
Same. Because in a way it almost feels like Docker was hurt by being open-source. Like they said, Swarm commits went to zero when Kubernetes launched. So Docker develops a revolutionary technology that becomes a standard, and Google takes it and adds all of the things corporations need from it, and Docker's future model is sort of cut off? I could be wrong, but Docker is now running their company as a subscription service and I wonder how many people need what Docker is selling when the most important part is open-source, and all of the major advances are happening outside of the company.
But Google always had that orchestrated implementation and tools, containers have always been there Kubernetes works with containers Not Docker Kubernetes is just better than docker But easier and more efficient if you use both of them Container Ocherstration platform
These people are unsung heroes. They are fighting against money hungry management boards to make better products for all people around the world and ease the process of software development/deployment. Thanks again Honeypot for this amazing documentary.
Congrats to ALL contributors on this project! This was something I've only dreamed about back in 2002 when I was playing with early container tech like OpenVZ and LXC. Anyone remember Sun Grid? I'm so glad everyone played well together and pulled this off. The documentary was so spot on in that this type of innovation will groom the next generation of engineers and enabled them to do so much more with computing advancements that's not proprietary to only big boys with deep pockets.
Man, the production value is so high. I've used kubernetes a lot in my job and I'm thankful Honeypot came out with this release to detail the entire development of k8s.
Man Kelsey is a visionary. Dude's spitting fax left and right. His book with Joe Beda titled "Kubernetes Up & Running" is a must-read for any k8s learner.
Brilliant!! Can't be more proud of the whole open source community and how they took container orchestration to a completely new level. This was never possible if k8s wasn't open sourced. And Yes there would be some new tools in the future which would do better than the existing one.
Developing a successful software starts with having a solid infrastructure. I always claim that with the right team, it is possible to do things right from the beginning but if you do not have that luxury, the code needs to be refactored from the ground up very soon before getting big. Due to that, K8s team thought they weren't ready for Pokémon Go despite the fact that they were. Besides the great contributions of the open source community, K8s would not exist without the amazing team behind it.
What an amazing documentary! This really gets me excited to go explore and contribute to open source. As a freshly minted developer, understanding the thought process that goes behind making products like K8S successful makes me all the more curious about other projects. Thanks Honeypot!
Great documentary! It would be great to have a Part 3 (spokespersons from other areas, and a view on what's next in the evolution). This lays a foundation; where will it continue to evolve?
The guy who comes up int the white shirt is Tim Boring. He was just an SRE at Google at that time. He has written a book on Orchestration. One hell of a book.
Amazing community! Really love to work on this space. And indeed amazing evolution and I think who ever run docker run or kubectl is actually part of it.
I've used Docker a little bit for some personal projects, but I'm kind of intimidated by Kub. I guess I need to just dive in and make something with it.
Amazing documentary guys, you put so much effort and quality to develope this content, i hope for more of this documentaries on the future like react and next. Keep it up with the great job. By far this is the best tech documentarie channel and tech in general for developers, devops, managers etc.
This is so inspiring, it give me another strength to continue my work in this area. BTW, is there any way for me to contribute on Korean version of subtitle?
this is so cool, I wish it would be the same as a positive sum game for the javascript front-end framework lol, even the backend framework too haha. Something like CNCF for frameworks.
like i said before there are a lot of topics to cover , now i think you MUST cover . This tech documentaries is an idea that you should commit to it like kubernetes team did .
This documentary couldn't come out at a better time. Much love to all the open-source developers and maintainers out there.
Nick Chapsas! Keep doing what you do and I hope honeypot keeps making great content like this! Your C# content was much needed for on RUclips where there really wasn’t a whole lot of quality c# content.
C# mentioned. Let’s go!
"whatever war these people were fighting, there's nothing to actually fight.," - Doing things together is always powerful.
Perfect statement by Kelsey Hightower at the end of this documentary!
Kelsey never ceases to amaze me with his vision.
The closing statement is on point.
This is not the end of the road.
I like these two points:
1. Everybody wants to own the user experience. Everybody wants to be the top of the value chain.
2. We stopped pulling against each other and start pulling together.
want to see this in the js ecosystem lol
When I look at the photos of these people who changed the world by believing in the idea 💡 and pushing it makes me think I want to be in team where we do the same. This documentary made me cry 🥲. Love Kubernetes 💙.
Thank you so much for this Doc. You guys have no idea how important it is to tell such stories. The whole world dreams a new 🥇

So true ✨ UNITY
I can't wait!! The first episode makes me cry!! so nice and incredible this amazing tech!!
as a software Engineer , this kind of content is what i need to be motivated and contribute to the open source community !
Me, 30 years, trying to be a Developer. I would be proud to be part of this process of Innovation. To be part of that level. I am inspired to make a positive impact.
Dude this is movie worthy , grateful to know such an inspiring story. Would love to know , the docker side of the story !

@@drownthepoor Totally Agree with you
But Google always had that orchestrated implementation and tools, containers have always been there
Kubernetes works with containers
Not Docker
Kubernetes is just better than docker
But easier and more efficient if you use both of them
Container Ocherstration platform
Truly brilliant filmmaking - thoughtful, engaging, and heartwarming - well done! 🕺🙏

Feel sad to not see Solomon in this documentary but I'm happy at least Arnaud had time to expose some his thoughts.
The music in the credits at the end really get the goosebumps flowing. Something about it is very, very inspiring
Finally, part two is out. Part one's really good.
This is my one of favorite RUclips channel
Man, the production value is so high. I've used kubernetes a lot in my job and I'm thankful Honeypot came out with this release to detail the entire development of k8s.
The end of the documentary with Kelsey's quote, "the fight wasn't worth it" 🙌
Man Kelsey is a visionary. Dude's spitting fax left and right.
His book with Joe Beda titled "Kubernetes Up & Running" is a must-read for any k8s learner.
