- A very useful idea for every man! To the garage or workshop !!
Friends, my name is Sergey! I am the author of the channel HandiCrafts.
On this channel I present everything that I have done with my own hands.
Creative ideas, useful tips !
We turn simple things into unique ones! Subscribe, it will be interesting! #craft #wood #diy
Let’s be clear to all those welders, not everybody owns a welding machine in the world. Not everybody knows how to weld. This is a lot more practical for a person with basic tool knowledge who needs a small project done. Just like me.
He spent the money on a grinder so why wouldn't he spend the same amount on a cheap DIY welder? Oh he has a welder because the rod he was using to point with is a welding rod. Also the title is misleading as it's not spoken about as it's a waste of money when talking about structural steel work
Real welder here, and the real reason we don’t tell these secrets is because well we don’t waste time building things this way. Time is money and wasting time on a project means it’s costs me and the customer more to get it done. Also tube not pipe. Everyone knows that.
Why do all these type videos call it “profile pipe” instead of the square and rectangular tubing that it is? Certified welder here with over 40 years of experience, and I can tell you that the American Welding Society has no “tab and slot” joints in any of their procedure books! I always worked under D15.1. Oh well, as long as he’s happy, all is well!
Tom T I’ve always worked under D17.1 or the various structural codes. It’s always tubing and not pipe.
Correct
@@tomt9543hello , could it be stronger this way ?
@@jlkenzo7551 No. what it does do is run up labor costs doing something that gives no added strength to the joint over that of a standard butt joint! If you’re building something for yourself, that’s fine, but if you’re in business doing this stuff you can’t be competitive making all these extra preps to an otherwise simple joint! Time is money!!
Excelente tu trabajo .
KEREEN trimakasih Om pelajarannya...salam sukses untuk Channelnya yaa, Aamiiin !!🤩🤩🤩
Thanks for sharing
The fold down tabs remind me of the way some toys used to be put together before plastics took over.
Excelente idea !
Needs to lose the jammies. Real welders don't use a CLAW hammer on metal. Finally, nobody in their right mind would waste that much time on that joint
Takes way too long and not as strong as welding and getting proper fusion between the two metals but if you don't have a welder, very cool idea. angle grinders are much cheaper so it could be a solution. Me personally, I'd recommend they get a cheap harbor freight flux core welder and some magnetic 90° angles and just weld it together. You can get them for around $300 and then you have a tool you can use on dozens of other projects or side hustles to make money
Thank You
Excelente! 👍
Couldn't you not do that. Get a 90 magnetic clamp and just weld it?
@@lincolnjasper3687 bullshit... u got 2 accounts bud. why spam advertisement in this youtube channel? Anyone internet savvy knows that password hack websites DONT WORK! and most actually hack YOU and get your info....
This one is not a terrible idea. I'd use this only on personal projects for more strength.
Nice 👍
what does this have to do with welders?
Nice
What you did makes it no stronger than a good but weld done professionally. Just a lot of extra work.
,Hello sir,, I ask permission to use the video for education and learning. Thank you
the best title is.. "how to make sturdy joints without welding machine"
completely ridiculous - no welders speak about this because they don't do this pointless activity.
Asking because I know nothing about welding: wouldn't doing it this way and then welding the pieces together make for an even stronger joint or connection or whatever the term is ?
@@Papa-Rah nope. The extra cuts can easily create more errors with spacing resulting in blowouts (hole where the molten metal has let go) a crap fillet or butt weld will hold longer than the folded (weakened) tube. This is something that an artisan may do for looks but anyone doing a job understands that time=money and if it is weight bearing it should be up to code so that the welder is not screwed when it fails
Now the tube is weaker unless you remove the bent over tabs ABD weld so a waste of time
Nice Glove? Anyone know what brand?
Supper bro. ...
Excelente enseñanza gracias
I guess Im asking randomly but does anyone know a method to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow lost the account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Kellan Anakin instablaster ;)
@Solomon Elisha Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Solomon Elisha it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass !
@Kellan Anakin you are welcome :D
Excelente idea...!!!
Muchísimas gracias...
Very good Idea.
Show.
What is the point to this? You still need to weld around the joint. Inefficient, wasteful of time, material and energy.
Can understand why supposed welders don't talk about it..
If you have fun making all these extra cuts, power to ya. But it’s not practical.
Extra steps = extra mistakes. More mistakes = bigger gaps to fill and more wasted material.
I see no reason to do this kind of joint unless you lack confidence in your welds or want to avoid welding altogether.
But what about doing this and then welding the pieces together ? Would this make it doubly strong ?
@@Papa-Rah. Welds can easily have tensile strengths over 60,000 psi and shear over 40,000
Doing this "slot and insert" method spends more time cutting and creates more room for error. Errors will compromise your project long before a weld gives out.
The next issue is blow out. Because you cut 2 slots to slide one tube into the other, you may have a gap that needs filling. If the gap is too big, and the tube is thinner (like maybe 1/16" - 1/8" ) processes like flux core and certainly stick may blow a hole making the weld weaker.
Lastly, if you're being paid to do a project. Time is money. This method adds 0 practical benefit and creates dramatically more mistakes. Imagine doing this 4 times to make a basic platform... Imagine blowing a hole and having to fill it... Imagine warping caused by the extra heat from filling the hole... This makes a 5 hour project into a 10 or 15 hour project.
If you have fun doing it, power to ya, but frankly it's dumb.
@@dizimz Thanks for the detailed reply.
@@Papa-Rah no prob
I’ve never seen anyone use a cutting disc with their arm in the front .... crazy
Sergey, one-armed future man
Too bad he doesn´t use a circular saw.
That is what I was thinking, that's just looking for a accident to happened.
Come on guys, this is a option, my respect to this guy.
Nice work.
Yes it's an option but welders are looking at the time to cost ratio and is it covered by a code so when it fails the welder is not at fault
a lot of work instead of just welding
Super idea
Cara ini aku baru tau praktis kuat tanfa baut.
That was awesome
The spirit of creation continues, my friend👌👌👍👍
god job,fantastic
Why is everyone blasting on this guy? Ok, maybe he shouldn’t use the word “welders” in the title, I get that. I find very useful what he just showed here. I completely get that we live in modern age and welding is quicker but not everyone has welding equipment or the knowledge to use it. I’m not going to buy welding equipment to use it once in a blue moon. I’m more than happy to use this type of joint in case if I ever need because I have all the tools needed.
When people first started using/working on metal, there wasn’t welding equipment. Bridges, railways, steam trains just to name a few were made not using any welding at all and they still exist nowadays.
Impresionante
Its overkill for my use. But a fine Idea.
Welders don't speak about this because it has f**k all to do with welding...on another topic there dude please stop wearing your wife's yoga tights.
Jedrgsej
Very nice
your way of doing it as well as my way of doing it
They don't speak about it because they don't like click bait I imagine. Shhhh, don't tell anyone the secrets, it might destroy the world as we know it.....
Que material utilizas
Wellder. Like Me. 😘😘😘😘👨🏭👨🏭👨🔧👨🔧
Cool!
Nice idea!
Tuyệt vời 👍
Great method for a shop rack or such. Would not meet ASTM industrial standards.
Fantástico 👏👏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I need that shirt
This is waste of time,we welders don't want to waste our precious time...time is money
Just butt weld the pieces together and call it a day already!
Muchoo trabajo...
If welder not speak about it,just let it silent
parabens mestre.
that's not art it's stupid, you don't waste time doing so much nonsense that's why they invented welding and its different types
wasting double of the time if you want a pretty one weld with tig
Muy bueno..!!
Like
👍👍👍
That IS a great idea, but I think I’ll stick to J-B Weld.
I wonder why they don't talk about it.!!!!
The reason is …. You waste alot of time and materials for just doing the same welding … only a weld is faster, stronger and if done correct even esthetically more pleasing to the eye then the monstrosities you present us with. Learn to weld and save money heck make even more money because your a proper welder at that point.
Nice job..
Support also 😀
Best way to waste time, just fucking weld it.
Was ist daran geheim?
This would be fine if you don’t have a hot metal glue gun.
Welders dont talk about it because it a stupid idea... whats the purpose.... just weld it together , save time and time is money. And its not as strong. Dumb idea. Just because something can be done..........
PORQUE LA GENTE SUBE VIDEOS QUE SOLO HACEN PERDER EL TIEMPO!!!!
