Man, watching these videos and hearing these stories about your sifu makes fictional kung fu master from the movies seem kinda tame. It really feels like a case of truth is strange than fiction. Thank you so much for these videos! I look forward to your online classes, please take care of yourself and don't wear yourself out!
Thank you for the kind wishes.. Actually funny you say that, Juggling the preparation for the online school, running an actual school, training and having a very young family is all pretty challenging and yes, absolutely I need to ensure I don't burn out. Thanks again
I’ve definitely bothered you on Facebook hahah. But I do appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions, as well as staying humble through your teachings. And yes I think we’d all like to see some sparring videos with different students of sizes and disciplines.
Cheers for the kind words and apologies on the late reply on this one :) Since this comment, there's been some sparring videos on Facebook and I think there is one on this channel of Lawrence fighting another guy. He's going to be having a lot more fights once we get through this 5th covid wave (it's a sideshow here and we're on lock down) so win or lose I will definitely be posting his fights either on Facebook or here
Hi Nima, a few things: thank you for taking your time to answer each one of us. It must be exhausting and very repetitive (I imagine a lot of us ask the same thing) to answer us and yet you still do it in the nicest way. About the online course it’s a great structure to have these videos as theory and some exercises along for homework. Can’t wait for it. It’s humbling to see you mentioning that you still can’t do some stuff, it’s a role model thing and very honest. Very cool of you. Cheer as always!
Yeah there are many things that i can't do. The 'problem' was that I had so many thousands of hours of hands on with CST that I know what the potential is, and using that as a reference I'm still very much a beginner myself when compared to him :)
Hello Nima ! Could you describe Chu Shong Tin's training in details ? Maybe someone will achieve what he was able to perform by following the same training :) Thanks
Hey man, He trained 6 to 7 hours of practice every day (7days a week), He did 80% self training and the other 20% Chisau. Majority of his self training was standing and SNT practice on the rooftop when he was living with Ip. He started Chum Kiu within 2 years and Biu Gee 2 years after that. He started the Dummy before Biu Gee but he taught it after Biu Gee. for fitness, he did 10thousand chain punches and 3thousan kiccks per day. he also swam in the ocean for 3 hours on most days and went hiking a lot with his students. He completed his training under Ip after 14years when he finished learning the Knives form. Then he opened his own school and from then on. majority of his practice was Chisau (teaching it). He would teach his students to attack and he would just defend. In terms of what he was thinking during the practice of the forms, there are some info on this channel but I am currently working on setting up an online school which will go in great detail about the practice of every aspect and every form as taught by CST. another 6 months and it should be live...
Another great video, really appreciate your honesty when you talk about things that you cannot do. With Chu Shong Tin gone, how are you developing your own Wing Chun? Must be hard without a reference?
Hey Ken, cheers and glad you enjoyed it. Well it would be great if he was still around. But I had well over 10 thousand hours of training under him and he showed me all 6forms. Plus I have around 2TBs worth of footage of his teachings :) So with all of that, I am progressing pretty well. At a certain level, we know what to look for as we can feel the correct or incorrect things ourselves. So a teacher is very necessary to teach you all the forms but after a while its up to ourselves to continue on the path and find our way
nice. Nima you mention the many watchers and community conversation, is there one place or forum this is at (or you prefer it to be), such as your mindful wingchun website, or facebook? Or somewhere else? thanks
yeah I'm sometimes active on the main Wing Chun Forum on Facebook. there are many on Facebook but the biggest one has around 80k members. I have recently stayed off all forums cause I dont have the time for back and firth discussions with people who are not willing to listen :) Once the Online school is up in 6 months, I will set up a forum for members and I think that will be a great community for ppl interested in the CST method
Yeah man, a few years ago I did think about getting in the cage, but now, to be honest with 2 babies and the online school project that I have got, I literally dont have too much time for sleep let alone adding conditioning and fitness training required for mma fights. To be very honest, If I get in the octagon and play the MMA game, I need to be a lot more conditioned and fit than I am now otherwise Ill gas out in 2 minutes.. So my plan is to, in time, find the right candidate and train them up for it... Having aid the above, in my teens I left home and lived the street life which got me into many combat situations and later I was a bouncer so have had my share of street fights and know what works..
Mindful Wing Chun i understand being a father is more than a full time job. i dont doubt the technique, and i appreciate u demonstrating the actual application with the pad work. ill keep watching. keep up the good work
86mods, i think you can check out sifu alan orrs , his students are in mma. personal l really like CST wing chun, I will get into Sifu Nima King's on line course.Thank you for sharing.
@@MindfulWingChun It takes a lot more than a couple of street fights to be an expert on fighting, just about every aussie has been in fights when they were younger
Awesome video Nima! Do you reckon the energy sigung was using was thought-force? I've been able to make people move away from me when they are in contact with a part of me, I don't need to move at all to do so, just relax as much as possible while intending the energy flows into the persons centre and starts pushing them off me. When I add movement to that same intention it seems a lot more effortless to move against brute force and it can't stop my movements. I wonder if he was doing the same thing or if he was still at a higher level then that. He was truly amazing to be the only one of ips students to figure all this stuff out so technically, can't help but admire that dedication he had. 😊😁
Yeah he termed what he was doing as Nim Lik which can be translated to Mind Force. I'm not sure what level you are up to as I would need to see a video to see whats going on. For example if you are able to tangibility decompress the joints of t=your spine to a point where someone touching your spine could feel it. Or to be able to hold out a Tan Sau and fully relax the biceps so that again someone can tangible feel the muscle coming off. These things give a better insight into our level compared to what we can do with a partner because we cant always be sure how compliant a partner is (sometime to the point where the teacher doesn't even touch the student and the fly back) . So yeah again I cant comment on your level as I would need to see what you're doing. Hope that makes sense
That's fair enough, you can see videos of our students sparring on this channel. And pls do drop into our school if you are ever passing through HK to check it out in person.

The questions I’ve asked, I’ve definitely incorporated into my Si Lum Tao. Thank you Nima.
Cheers Scott. This was 4 years ago before you started the program right. How far you've come since then...

Babies do this naturally.
Try lifting them up and they don't want to be lifted, they will naturally use their body mass.
exactly! however obviously they can use it in a ounch or kick but they give a hint of it in many other Natural movements
