- From WMAR-TV 2 in Baltimore, MD, here's some early-mid 1983 NBC breaks sourced from the PREMIERE of Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever! Yes, the special wherein Michael Jackson popularized the moonwalk dance during "Billie Jean". This video contains the commercials that aired during this event!
Sponsored by Commodore, so there's a lot of computer stuff here. And a lot of computer GRAPHICS too, it's unreal how incredibly 1983 this is. And how it looks so GOOD too! It's retail VHS-quality, I think whoever recorded this used cable. You can't make a better looking copy of this airing
I own nothing. Happy birthday Michael
My *God* that's clean! Excellent find there!!
Thanks! Always wanted this airing, but always thought I'd get a really grainy OTA copy with no commercials. I didn't even know you could make recordings look *this* good in 1983
the clip of michael jackson walking off stage after his premiere of a new song called billie jean and the first time he did the moonwalk. amazing to be transported back to to 40 years ago!
THANK YOU!!!! My parents used to have Motown 25 on tape and, outside of the local Baltimore commercials (we were in New York), I remember almost all of these commercials! You've made my day!
The night Michael Jackson premiered Billie Jean and his iconic first ever Moonwalk on Motown 25, on national tv. Cant believe its 40 years ago!
Channel 2 in Baltimore was WMAR; WBAL (a CBS station at the time) was channel 11 in the city. My mom lived in the area at the time and was 15 then.
I just realized I put in the wrong affiliate. To be fair WBAL is the current NBC affiliate (and was an NBC affiliate until two years before this recording was made) so I must've mixed a few wires there

Might be the oldest recording you have.
