ifelajulo fasina Lol, I know this babe and I know she’s a hustler even as she’s back home she’s hustling way more than she was here as there’s more freedom. If someone wants a luxury lifestyle at the end of the day how’s that bad? Me I want a luxury lifestyle at the end of the day and I have my plan to get there. I’m not going to follow the norm of immigrants always “hustling” here almost forever or that who hustled the most people like doing. I’m on the FIRE path 💃🏾🙏🏾. Thanks for watching! 💕
Your guest is very correct BUT 1. If your guest was from a middle class family back in Nigeria, with only one source of income that can barely go round the family or have a degree but no job, I strongly believe she would remain in Canada and work things through to her growth. 2. I have been living in Canada for 6years now, work in the oil and Gas industry in Canada, in a very small town with less than 30,000 population and make 7grand a month. Most Nigerians have the mentality of wanting to live in the big cities so they can enjoy city life style they can't afford, brag to friends with instagram pics, living in this cities comes with high career competitions and less chances to grow in their careers as compared to the smaller cities. 3.Don't pick your destination in Canada because your friends reside in the province(friends won't pay your bills) 4. My advice, have a career plan set out even before coming, avoid going in debt with your credit card (live below your means) and stick to the saying "You have to start from the bottom to get to the top.
richlam where Yes, you’re 100% right! People have their different reasons for moving to Canada so if someone moved to be able to sustain their family back home they definitely will endure anything here. And we spoke about the “people wanting to live in big cities/ just following their friends to live somewhere”. If you watched the full video, it was an advice to new and aspiring immigrants. I have also spoken about that in my other videos because that’s what I see a lot of people doing, this video in particular - ruclips.net/video/0Ojt-PX9KP0/видео.html and some others. Great advice! Hopefully people read your comment and learn from it because it’s very important!! Thanks for sharing & watching! 🙏🏾
There are so many reasons to remain in Canada. I live in Calgary, and it is safer, calmer, and more sane here in Canada. People who move back to Nigeria have gotten their PR or Citizenships... and they all have the option to move back to Canada anytime. Don't fall for the hype...
Charles Nwaozuzu Oh definitely! She even mentioned that a lot of people move to Canada because of the peace it will bring because Nigeria ehn 😩🙆🏾♀️😂. You’re right but She didn’t move back after PR or citizenship, sometimes happiness comes first..everything isn’t about that for some people. But most that move back go after citizenship and some feel there’s more to life so they don’t wait for it cos it’s another 4-5 years wait for international students after school. Thanks for watching!💕
Guy dont always think everyone wants to live abroad. I wonder what people now born in Canada Canada the oyinbo wey get Canada should now do oo If Canada is so important to you.
I rarely comment but i must say your guest is really on point. I have been abroad for over 15 years now and must say no place like home. I disagree with lots of comment saying she's probably from middle class family, guys happiness is all that matters. No matter your background. People really need to be here to know what life is in Canada. Maybe if she had lived in Toronto she would have seen a different side of Canada but I must say, you made the right choice as long as you are happy, that's all that matters
i agree no place like home. i live in america and nigeria social life is amazing people say vegas nightlife is the ebst i disagree the ebst nightlife i had was in lagos nigeria resturant farm city strip clubs concerts you name it rsvp
I'd say Everywhere in Africa is the best when you have money.lol..Even Canada is lit when you have money. But nothing beats Africa though.I enjoyed your video.
@@JR-ek4xy I'm really glad to hear you're having the time of your life!!Did you just return from Canada?I'll be coming to Africa next year.Just invested in some businesses so next year will be time to celebrate. We the youth are the future billionaires of Africa.
Different strokes for different folks. For me, I've been here for a year plus as a PR and I have no regret one bit. It's one of the best decisions I have made for myself and I will be glad to bring my entire family here. Relocation is not for everyone, pray for God's lead before thinking of immigrating abroad! If your destiny is tied to Nigeria and you forcefully come here, you'll be frustrated. Truth be told Canada isn't heaven but in my opinion, it is better than Nigeria in myriads of ways. Not everyone 's destiny is tied abroad. Pls don't come on student visa, try to come as a permanent resident and don't live above your means. Once again ,my family and I have no regrets ! Do I want to go back to Nigeria? Hell no! Probably for a visit in the near future. I wish everyone the best! Between ,you've got a nice RUclips content.
There is a current program now, which is study and work. It allows you to work while studying. Don't you think it is a good program. It is kind of easy to migrate to Canada with this program. What is your opinion about this ? Please advise me before I make any choice
@@okuonghaeosayamen If it's legit, why not? You can explore the option. There are several streams available to enter Canada. I only advised against coming in as student because your work hours will be restricted. But if that's what works for you, please grab the opprotunity.Just make sure you're coming in via the right source.I wish you the best
I visited Dubai in 2019 and enjoyed it a lot. My friend visited for 10 days and "rushed" back to Nigeria. She said she can't cope with the lifestyle. The silence/ mind your business lifestyle is crushing her soul. It's really what suites one's happiness.
Happiness is free. My prayer everyday is that God raises passionate leaders in Africa, leaders who would develop our continent. So our people can succeed without having to leave our continent. God bless you, Tobi
I love how honest she is 😂. On the contrary, I schooled in UK and didn’t want to go back to Nigeria cause the Nigerian “everyone is family” culture annoys me. I’m a private person and loved my alone time when I was away. Canada really isn’t for everyone but it’s definitely for me cause I’m loving it! 🥰 Nice video! 👌🏾
I know right! Loool 😂😂😂🤣 I feel you sis! That can be really annoying sometimes. Yeahhh, same here.. I don’t see myself leaving except my career takes me to another country, if not, I’m okay here. Thanks for watching sis! 💕
Angeljoy Kip Lool 😂. I wish I was like you! I thought I would love living alone ..when my brother moved out I was so happy for the first 4 months then I missed living with someone 😩. It’s been 16 months now tho so I’m a bit used to it. Thanks for watching! 💕
I can so relate with this. Experiencing both worlds will help to make a better decision. Being in the UK too for 5 years, finished my masters degree and I plan relocating to Nigeria next year.
We need more contents like this. I think there's a misconception about life abroad. Anyone intending to relocate should watch these type of videos to have a balanced & informed view about living abroad.
Chibuzo Okoye Yup! It’s nice to listen to all sides with an open mind, doesn’t mean it’s discouraging you from coming abroad. It’s just you doing your research to make informed decisions. Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
Nobody has misconceptions about life abroad. Most of the stories we hear are true. Life and economy is easier than Nigeria. However, if u prefer Nigeria Good for you. There are no misconceptions, that's my point.
Very true, even if a lot of people may NEVER want to go back to Nigeria, they can still relate with some things or will know someone who can relate since we have different experiences. Thanks for watching & commenting! 🙏🏾
This is becoming a recurring theme in Canada. People immigrating, stay a few years and then return to their home country because they can live a better quality of life back home. I know a Vietnamese couple that came to Canada, stayed about 10 years and then returned back to Vietnam because their life there was better. Now that we are in the time of globalization the developing world is coming up and one can find that being in the developing country can be just as good or better than a developed country.
mola4shissle A thanks for commenting, yeah people have their different experiences here..some can relate and some won’t. I’m still enjoying it here in Canada tho. Thanks for watching! 💕
@@TobiDerin I totally agree with you. I came here as a student in 2014, graduated with Electrical/computer Engineering in 2018 and recently just got my PR. What I like about your video is it uniqueness. It was something have been looking forward to, coz I was just tired of all this video online asking people to migrate to Canada. No doubt it a land of many opportunities but then it comes with many many challenges which people rarely talk about.. You will think that with my Canadian education couple with 1yr internship, getting a job will be easy but I tell you it was one frustration to another. I particularly got tired wen I see my white friends get job easier and that was when I began to understand how the system really works. And when I look around it was mostly same thing with alot of my nija pals. Yes we are working but how many of us are working in our choosen profession. It one call center job to another, or social worker taking care of the elderly ones. My cousin literally relocated back to naija in 2016. On the flip side, I still love it down here in spite of the many challenges, for someone like me who grew up on the street of Lagos, going back is not even an option.lol Just recently I got a sweet job with a US company as a remote technical analyst, this was only possible coz I stop applying to jobs but instead reach out to my white friends for job referral...Lest I forget I was also able to bring my long time girlfriend here under the spousal visa during my final year of university and together we've been able to weather the storm. Canada is no doubt a land of opportunity but mehnn, it requires perseverance, patience, hardwork, focus and most importantly God...
mola4shissle A honestly your comment is 💯 . I wish I could double like or even triple like!!!!!! You hit the nail on the head, you just spoke for like 85% of the international students/ young millennials here!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!! This is a great video. Canada is a great country with a lot of opportunities. However, Canada is not meant for everyone. You have to consider so many factors before moving to Canada. You need to understand yourself, your purpose, your timing and many other things. To some their coming to Canada was for life, to some it is for a decade, to some it is for a short season, to some they have no business coming here. Please know where you fit in in this whole puzzle . Thanks
Thought provoking dialogue! Very best wishes to @Bisola Adeniji in naija. She's still relatively young and can hit the reset button at this stage of her life. Her Canadian degree in Accounting is nothing to sniff at and she would eventually find her groove! Every country on earth has its pros and cons - but what really matters is where each person finds favour! In my humble opinion, Canada still ranks much higher on the global quality of life index. It's just the Corona pandemic that has disrupted the economic equilibrium during this period. But regardless, you don't have to worry about prolonged power outages here or kidnappings or armed robbery or crazy traffic or environmental pollution! May we all find favour wherever destiny takes us!
ad stix Yes o! Thanks for this comment, you’re right! Lol, Azin no traffic, there’s traffic here but not like Lagos traffic..that one will humble you ehn😭😂. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏾💕
I moved out here to the US in 2005.. i was ready to run back to Nigeria. I visited after two years.. extended my stay for 5 weeks cos I didn't want to return. I was lonely, I missed my friends, my life back home! I started spending time again in Nigeria btw 2009 and 2013. Once I started having kids, my mindset changed completely! Now it was all about my children and the life I wanted for them! I am a single mom now with 3 kids..and u know what that means living abroad as a single mother but I am lucky to have mom's help. I say all these to say, our circumstances determine the course of our lives. I love Nigeria, I miss home but for now I choose to be here cos of my kids. And honestly, you can soar... dont limit yourself!
Iroro Edosio Yes, that’s so right! I feel it really depends on your “why” some people move for their children’s future, some for greener pastures for them, some move to be able to eventually bring their other family members, some move just for the money etc. Nice to hear your story sis, your children will definitely be grateful! 🙏🏾💕💕. Thanks for watching 😊
I feel you I was the only one that came back home, out of all my siblings. They all told it is because I did not give birth there, they told me it will be hard to remove myself if I had kids
Olota Mustapha Yeah, honestly it’s only God that is keeping us safe here in the western countries and back home in Nigeria 🙏🏾. Ohh how long have you been here for?
Very interesting episode. I personally enjoy living in this country, but I can appreciate that someone else has had a different experience. I wish her all the best and I agree with you both. Carry out extensive research before coming. All the best to everyone on their immigration journey!
Yes, same with me..that’s why I’m still here, lol. I feel one has to just understand how things work here and if it fits your end goal then you’ll love it here but if it doesn’t align with your goal you might not enjoy it. Research is so important! The research never ends because we still have to do research here for things like buying a house or rental property, business etc ..there are many rules here so you can’t just do things blindly. Thanks for watching & commenting! 💕
I can relate. The night life of Lagos, the parties, weddings, social gatherings are things we miss in Canada and they can make one feel a little depressed.
I love this video. Honesty and reality on display. Abroad is not for everyone. If you have ever lived abroad you know this is so true and real.At the least this video would help inform intending immigrants of the reality on ground. Nice Job from you and your friend Bisola who spoke so frankly, you could feel her experience from her reactions.
Chigozie Iluno Yes o, it’s not for everyone. Yup that’s what this segment of the channel is about..sharing different stories so people can make more informed decisions and know the reality of things. I really appreciate her honesty! Thanks for watching! 💕
For all those who want to move here, this is for you! Dont let this video deter you, people have had much better experiences. 1. If you get laid off here, you can apply for EI, you can get paid by the government until you get another job. 2. You have to make the effort to make friends here. Friends will not fall into your laps. Reach out, call, invite friends over for Sunday lunch. Approach people at Walmart and get their phone number. 3. Thriving in the workforce here depends a lot on your personalities. If you're kind, outgoing and generally a good person, you will thrive. 4. Pray for God's grace. God's grace will give you rest in all things. 5. Have a generally positive attitude. You can have a great experience here. My friend moved here In 2018, she only just got a job this month! She stayed positive through it all but guess what, she got a bomb job in oil and gas! I'm not saying this lady's experience is a lie, but if you have a positive attitude, you will be happy here!
Thank you for this Stella! 🙏🏾💕💕 The video wasn’t made to deter anyone, it’s just one persons experience, there are more videos coming and my channel is actually about moving to Canada/life in Canada but I believe people can learn from others so that’s why I decided to start this segment, there are more experiences coming both good, better and all. At least they can take her advice and learn from her mistakes and learn somethings from this video...we just watch it with an open mind. Yeah, but some people don’t qualify for EI especially new grads because of requirements, you have to have worked a certain number of hours to qualify (420 -700 hours) so that can be from 3 - 4 months of work to qualify and sadly people might get laid off before then. Government benefits have requirements. For instance, my friends cousin couldn’t qualify for CERB because he started working in February, a month before the benefit started and had been in Canada since 2019 but didn’t reach the $5,000 income requirement because he got laid off after 4 weeks of work. 100% accurate, you’re right.. this is so important!!! One has to really step out of their shell in Canada. Yes, positive attitude and patience are what newcomers need! But even with a positive attitude and patience we need to understand that people are different and have different paths in life and happiness & mental health come first for some people. God has different plans for everyone and we all have different & unique stories and experiences. At the end of the day, Nigeria is for her and it’s not for me. Glad you & I are both happy here in Canada. So happy about your friend’s experience! Congrats to her💃🏾🎉🎉 Thanks for watching & commenting! 🙏🏾💕
Thank you for this... its actually her personal experience... I have people that prefer it there, in Nigeria, the struggle is real... to get a decent paying job in Naija is God's help
Idara Okposen Yeah, Lol I myself prefer it here. But just because I prefer it doesn’t mean everyone will. I’m in Canada and my channel is about educating new and aspiring immigrants on moving to Canada and life in Canada. Thanks for watching! 💕
About the networking and being nice and polite is important. Put yourself out there. This buisness of moving to Canada and gravitating towards your fellow Nigerians is not going to help at all. Connect with people from different countries. There are free networking events. Lots of apps that you can download on your phone that have free events and free meetup groups etc. People are willing to help as long as your put yourself out there. I know in Africa we have a tendency of sticking to our small clicks and keeping our jobs within us. It wont work here in Canada. Be open minded and volunteer. Volunteer as much as you can when your a student in order to get some experience. I'm not sure how else to put this but Canada has worked for me through and through and I encourage every young person who is struggling back home to come here.
Tindi Saggy Yes, you’re 100% right and if you listened to the end of the video those things were discussed as an advice to immigrants. I’ve also mentioned that a lot for my viewers on my other videos. At the end of the day, God has a different plan for everyone in life. Canada has worked for me, I’m doing extremely well here but it doesn’t mean it will work for every other person. My channel is here to guide and help immigrants and new comers to transition and succeed here. People should do what works for them based on their goals, we all have our individual race in life. Thanks for watching and sharing these points! 🙏🏾
Thank you Tobi and Bisola for the insight and for being real. She indeed seems happy to back in Nigeria 😁. Your content is great. Keep up the good work. I have been hooked on it for the last 3 days.👍👍
You’re welcome! Yes o, she’s so happy. They should give her award for Patriotic citizen for Nigeria 😃. Thank you so much for watching! 😊 glad you’re enjoying it.
It’s not easy anywhere, it all depends on what rocks your boat, what you want in life, reason for relocating. But if you put both countries on a scale, Canada surpasses Nigeria in so many areas; health, education, security... just so your research and be certain about what you want .
Yes o, my sister! That’s 100% right. It’s just based on the person. I’m still here in Canada and it rocks my boat. The research is 100% correct!! People need to do their research and not come blindly. Thanks for watching! 💕
Those who move back to Nigeria have their PR or citizenship already and if not, probably they are from rich family or have a good job. Dont be discouraged, Canada is worth staying for a good life, abroad doesnt equate success but it equate good life for more than an average Nigerian. I have been in Canada for a year now and i can completely tell the difference. All i can say is, its way better and better.
I agree with you... Rich kids come back home.. from UK, US and different countries, when they come back to Nigeria they have a house and things waiting for them . So they prefer this
So true. Living in canada does not equate to success but it sure can quarantine safety and security to a much greater extent than what is obtainable in naija..
Rubbish, not all that glitter is gold , u can't compare Canada to UK, I live in the UK for 30 years and to be honest with u on one part I thank God 🙏 and on the second part I really regret but instead of me complaing I made that move one day and am here in Nigeria over 3 years now , though we have our challenges , but it's home for me .
@@regieregieom5068 u lived in UK for 30yrs, even though u faced lot of challenges, I'll still say that you have some cash to live a comfortable live in Nigeria. You can't compare yourself to an average Nigerian.

So true! People just assume you made a bad choice for leaving "their own dream country" to come back home without a clear understanding or experience of the life the person left. Great conversation.🙌👏 I love the enlightenment you are giving, everyone should be able to make better and informed choices. Bisola is not smiling with us though, she gave us without hiding anything 😂😂😂
Girl to Mom Yes!! I like that she said that in the video and at the end of the day everyone’s journey in life is different and she chose her happiness. There are still useful tips people can learn from the video even if they want to live in Canada forever. She didn’t o 😂😂😂, thanks for watching! 💕
Tobi: This is very good balanced interview you are doing a great job. To Bisola, as a fellow returnee myself :) I came to Canada as a PR and left in 2010 after just 3 years with my citizenship sha..have been working all over West Africa..I wish you the best..(I havent had time or energy to even set foot in Canada for vacation since 2016 ..vacationing in Africa is more interest. Travelling to Canada is like an itch let people scratch hahaha...a few years will clear eyes..the rest is mostly prodigal child syndrome. Worried about what people will think when they come back. No experience is wasted..my time in the US and Canada has made me very efficient. Get it and get out!
You were smart enough to ensure you get your citizenship. You didn't leave empty handed and you have an alternative country with a good government. For that, I say kudos.
Thanks you so much for your comment, thanks for sharing your story! That’s very smart, getting your citizenship and leaving. That’s what people do because living here is not as “easy” as some people think it is. I agree with you, definitely want to start taking vacations around Africa! Oh yes, you’ll learn how to be very efficient by force.. haha. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏾
@ Protektt I agree, you’re totally right! It’s good he didn’t leave empty handed. It takes at least 4.5 - 5 years to get citizenship after schooling as an international student (because of getting PR first) so sometimes people don’t want to wait that long if they aren’t happy here. Having an alternative government is the best thing ever, just knowing you have another country to fall back on. You’ll enjoy travelling and some other benefits. I say Kudos to you also! 👏🏾
yet I have been out for over a decade..exactly what I am saying..get what you need and keep moving with your life. I make more working in Africa..(moved around Nigeria, Sierra Leone even francophone countries like Guinea and now Cote d'ivoire) than getting trapped..there is no utopia..just opportunities
Danlami G hahaha @ you “japa”ing Canada after the 1,095 days, a week after your citizenship application. That’s facts!! You really planned yourself well and didn’t get trapped here 😂
I live in CANADA too, everything she said in this episode is 100% right. Canada is very challenging in so many aspects. Especially in line of good job opportunity and keeping up with the job. Such as co-workers, making mistakes, stress! Stress and stressful to live here. If had the opportunity to find a good job, you're always working and no time for family and friends. Not to talk of you're always being treated like a second class Citizens. It does not matter what level of job entrance you're in. They treat you all the same at different levels. Anyway, very educational Topics, thanks!
BDB2020 Yeah, people need to know it’s challenging and not as easy as it seems. Yup, the work work work life here can be annoying. Thanks for watching and sharing your view! 🙏🏾
You are so right about no time for family. It's so annoying, you don't know what your child is listening to, hours and hours daily leaving them. Public schools not encouraging achievers mentality. Divorce/ dysfunctional family. Parents complaining to me that their 8 years old children are masturbating, watching stuffs they can't believe their eyes they are watching. If anyone wants to stay here with family, attention has to be paid on kids not just money which requires sacrifice, getting informed, be part of their life and literate spiritually.
There are 2 things I believe made this lady to go back to Nigeria even though she looks happy in Nigeria, she is from a family above middle-class and she already secured her Canadian citizenship, even me I will go back if I have both. Let us be saying the whole truth so that other people will not make such haste decision that can ruin their lives. I migrated to London in 2015, if I have those 2 above, I can confidently go back to Nigeria.
Sam Olu She didn’t “secure” citizenship. Sometimes happiness comes first, everything isn’t about that for some people. But some people move back after citizenship and some feel there’s more to life so they don’t wait for it cos it’s another 4-5 years wait for international students after school. Thanks for watching!💕
@@TobiDerin thank for your response, let us agree that she didn't secure citizenship at least she might have secured permanent residency which is close to citizenship, however she was able to go back home because I believe she is not from poor or middle class background like some of us; who many are looking up to for financial assistance. Some of us are happy here while some are not as happy as being in Nigeria but we have no choice than to stay here, that is my argument. There are level of wealth or connection my parents will have that will give me that confidence to go back to Nigeria (they don't necessarily have to be as rich as Dangote or Otedola).
U have nailed it. Fact!!! . I live in calgary Canada so, I am very very surprised about her experience in canada. I have lived here for 14 years now. Sorry about her experience though
Sam Olu I know she’s from a comfortable home, I don’t know about upper class but I know she didn’t wait to meet the requirement to apply for PR. Applying under the CEC means 1 year of work experience then you apply and it can come out early or up to 6months. As I said earlier, that’s the decision she made and everyone has what they want in life. For me, I can’t wait to even have two passports, I’ll be flexing with them 😂😂😂😂 but just because that’s something I’ll love doesn’t mean thats another persons goal. Trust me, when she told me she wanted to move back I was thinking of PR/citizenship first but with an open mind I realized everyone has their decision to make.
nigerborn09 Kelly Smith Yeah, everyone has different experiences here. We are all different. Even my brother and I that are from the same family and live in Canada together have had a different experience. That’s why I’m brining people to share their experience and stories, some people relate to her experience and some don’t. You will probably relates to someone’s very soon. Thanks for watching and commenting! 💕
I understand everything youre talking about in this video. I moved here from naija when i was 10 years and it was so hard for me to adjust initially. Social life in Canada vs. social life in Nigeria are as different as night and day.The only way to be comfortable here is to be in a professional job such as accounting, nursing, engineering, doctor, etc....if youre doing ordinary jobs you will be competing with even more people and you will not be as happy.
Was really nice to hear the flip side of the story, not all that glitters is gold and everyone should aim for whatever works for them. I like that your guest went with what made her happy and glad she shared her story as I’m sure it will be useful for people plus the advice and mistakes. 👍🏿
That’s right it’s good to hear both sideshow, more stories coming. Yeah, I’ve gotten some comments and more emails of people that can relate. Thanks to watching! 💕
I honestly have to say that I truly appreciate not just Bisola’s bravery, but her honesty too. Especially on the topic of the nasty people say to you when you go back home. Learning to stand your ground on what you know is best for you is extremely important, especially when it comes to dealing with our elders. I applaud her 👏🏽
Yes!!! She was so honest about a lot of things and I believe we need more people like her so people can know the real thing and learn from others. Sis, that going back home thing and Nigerians forever ready fo bash you if you go back, they always forget happiness comes first and that everyone wants different things and has a different path. That’s when they forget our popular saying - “one man’s meet is another man’s poison” 👏🏾.
Sounds like she comes from a comfortable family in Nigeria which will explain why Canada is "depressing" for her. For those who come from poverty, complaining about Canadian depression is a luxury they can't afford
It's a perspective even people in Canada could use to hear! I'm french canadian, and even I find anglo Canada lonely... it's the whole cocooning thing, people have private parties, not so much public ones, especially now and after this pandemic... it's only going to get worse. Close knit groups are pulled apart by work and large distances, too. Individualism. I'm close to Montreal, so maybe not as boring as Winnipeg... lol But even as a college graduate it's hard to get a good enough job to not live paycheck to paycheck close to the big cities, unless you have some generational wealth. And when you get out of big urban centers, well... that's a whole other truckload of isolation and potential unpleasant encounters with uneducated, closed-minded folks. (Those lurk in cities too, unfortunately..) And a large portion of us also hate the cold.. lol Personally I don't mind it, but we have a concept here called "snowbird", for when old white people retire and purchase or rent a small property down south, mostly in Florida or in a tropical country, to spend their winters in the sun, like migrating birds, haha. P.S. I don't mean to spit on the privilege our citizenship comes with (relative stability, mostly clean air and resources, free healthcare and a good education system), but one has to wonder what we sacrificed in order to achieve "success" as a country, as a "model colony" of the British empire... losing our relationship to nature and to each other, in a never-ending quest for "jobs", ready to do whatever for a paycheck, even if it doesn't benefit us or society in the slightest. We treat people like we treat our consumer goods, marketable, replaceable... disposable. I mean it's hard EVEN with white privilege and the right name and face, to find a space, so if anyone reads this and you're in Canada as an immigrant, and you need a friend who won't judge, or need help decoding canadian "culture", or just want to bitch about racist white people...lol I'm here! I'm not a social worker, but I'm a sociologist! I use the same name on Instagram, no spaces, feel free to reach out! Especially this year, it's tough to get social!
Facts my sister! The most important thing is your happiness. Not just Canada, even Europe oo! I cant wait to round up my studies and go back home to Nigeria. I say that and people think I am foolish. Germany is not for everyone too. Save enough and go back to Afirca and invest. You can be successful anywhere. The chances of real success in these developed countries is for a lucky few. If you want an average life with little savings, loneliness and a small circle of friends/family, living abroad is an option. Is also about being content with the little you have in Nigeria and try to be very creative, there are opportunities in Nigeria. We have the demands, population and market. That 1mil and above you want to relocate can be used in Nigeria to build an empire.
SHUPization You’re totally right!! Your happiness comes first. Just because my own happiness is here in Canada doesn’t mean I should question someone’s decision if their happiness is back home. Go for what works for you and put always yourself first and not satisfy “society”. Thanks for watching! 💕
Also life is about finding purpose. If one's purpose is fulfilled here, then good. Nothing wrong with running here to build a "secure" life for you immediate family. But i believe our lives is bigger than us, is about service to God and others too. I believe alot of impact can be made back home with our experiences and small savings achieved here. One could have a beautiful life with ones immediate family here but how much impact can you make to society? Sending money back to relatives home once in a while?. I think creating or building something small can potentially employ and reduce that employment that pushed us out here could be a good thing to do. We need to change the narrative that life is generally good for everyone here. Which is the mind set of everyone rushing out here. Alot of aspects is not as painted. Your rights to your children, your employment opportunities, how you are seen as a foreigner, etc...I guess the danger of a single story as Chimanda says..
Patiently waiting for my passport, then Nigeria here I come... I wanna do business, like travel to other countries and bring goods to Nigeria for sale, make new friends and be happy. America will not kill my social life... lie lie
SOSA JONES Lol, 😂😂 you’ll Japa US quickly. You’ll actually enjoy yourself well. Happiness comes first sis so I’m in full support! Lool @ the lie lie (I read it in Nigerian accent) 😂
I just got mine o...lol. I'm waiting to finish my house in Naija cos I need to have where to stay. Lol. Goodluck. I want to also do business abeg. This 9-5 is killing me. I'm indoors 247. No friends. You just live by yourself. Honestly, money isn't everything Walahi.
@@azeezsalvador2361 I need it cause I wanna be able to go to other countries without visas, if u read what I wrote I said I wanna travel to lots of. Places... anAmerican passport will be a plus for me
This other lady was just spitting advice, “don’t measure your success with others.”That would really put you on the edge and research is really important.I just stumbled on your page Tobi and it’s been enlightening for me even though I stay in US.Thanks for this❤️
@@mrdeecroft3114 Personally,I think I’ve had it easy since I’m a citizen but the only thing I’m trying to do is to ensure that I build up good credit history because banks, landlords, jobs look at that to determine if you have good spending habits. Most importantly, pay up if you request for a loan. For a couple of international students, I think their major concern is having a community or network of people for advice because they have more to prove if they are not citizens or PR.But like Tobi said, these schools have a lot of resources and I’m a huge beneficiary. It’s just a lot of students don’t know so they miss out because they think it’s trivial. So when I started off at my community college,I just started learning more about career resources, financial coaches and they’ve been very helpful. And if there is one thing I’ve learnt this semester year is COMMUNICATION IS VERY KEY.Engage the professors, other staff members working in the career center and even students. You’d be surprised that someone somewhere has information that you’re looking for and even the means to make things less stressful for you.
Hello Tobi. Nice video. I would like to suggest you make videos on the things you ask people to do research on. Watching your videos is actually part of the research people are making to find answers. Nice work 👍🏽👍🏽
This is soooo true honestly. Like when I came to the UK, i was a couch potato, always in my room watching TVs and 99.8% of my friends were still in Nigeria.
Girl am so happy for you that you followed your heart... Every one deserve to be happy no matter what and we should respect that... Happiness is not always money or constant electricity... Just make yourself happy.. If living in the village makes you happy and comfortable pls go for it your happiness matters more... Money is good but money isn't everything
Well what works for you might not work for me It depends on your personality..I have lived in both countries but there’s no comparison at all.. Nigeria is Nigeria, Canada is Canada It’s true abroad generally can be lonely for singles , when you move to canada with family eh it’s the best thing that can happen to you . A lot of students struggle to get permanent residence . It can be difficult. The basic amenities that give me a good life and happiness is here in Canada. Can you compare a nurse in Nigeria and a nurse abroad not to mention Canada . Come through PR , get a good job and live your life If you miss African good come to me I’ll give you a contact that will ship whatever you need . In summary what works for you will never work for me . Life is better here compared to where I’m coming from. Not everyone abroad or in Canada came out for money Most people just want to be comfortable and enjoy their money too Everyone will always give their reason to justify their decision after all ..
Yes, and that’s what it is!! Everyone has their different reasons for coming, everyone has their different path & experience in life whether in Canada or Nigeria. Yes, what works for one person might not work for you, just like Canada and just like Nigeria. Even my guest has siblings from the same family that are still in Canada and won’t go back to Nigeria. That just shows everyone’s path is different. Everyone should just do things based on their own circumstance and what they want in life. Thanks for watching 💕💕
Temitope Ogunremi Very true!! People have different experiences here, some are living a balanced life and some don’t even have time because of 2 to 3 jobs. Thanks for watching! 💕
This one was awesome, I've learnt a lot hearing your discussion and the truth about canada not being for everybody. The country is good but everybody should find his own way to achieve success including moving back to home country. Many thanks to you both 🙏 Merci beaucoup 😘
Rod Kass yes! 100%. There are people who love it here, people who are indifferent and people who want to move back home due to their personal reasons. Thanks for watching Mon amie! 💕
Jerry Anih Good you listened with an open mind. Hope it didn’t discourage you tho because that wasn’t the purpose of the video. Just to share stories, shed light that Abroad isn’t for everyone and at the share some things people can learn from like her advice to new immigrants and her mistakes. Depending on your goal in life, Canada can be extremely good for you (a perfect fit) or even another country abroad. It’s good for me as I’m still here but she didn’t really like it here so she moved back to Nigeria.
Oh man, about making friends, I didn't silo myself in Nigerian circles so I would experience other people. It was my british friend that connected me to my current job.
For real!!!!!!! She’s a hammer master now 😂. That loneliness is real o, at least in Nigeria even if it’s your olofofo or amebo neighbour, someone will be there to talk to you sometimes. The routine here is 😪😪. Only a few people are able to get out of the routine. Thanks for watching babe! 💕
A lot of Jamaicans are leaving Canada and returning to Jamaica too. The main complain are the ways houses are built. They cram them too close to each other.
This is good information. I truly agree with the 2 sides of the coin here. I have children in Canada in different provinces. Some married, one single. The loneliness can be pronounced especially with the working from home since the outbreak of covid 19. Its a western world, with its usual and normal 'mind your business' lifestyle. Therefore, even with the good job, good pay and good accommodation, single individuals may not really enjoy it as he/she should. Apart from that, its okay.
This video was quite insightful. For me, I think that it's not easy anywhere. You make a success wherever you find yourself. It's really tough in Nigeria, but I suppose that it's tough everywhere too, but in different ways. Thanks to Bisola for your bravery, don't send all those monitoring spirits, their lives are boring.
Oluseyi Olufikayo-Olabiyi yes!! You couldn’t have said it better! Every country has its pros and cons, you just have pick one that fits your situation, goals and what you want out of life. Haha 😂😂 @ monitoring spirits. Thanks for watching! 💕💕
@Tobi Adeyeke as you said, everyone’s experience is definitely different. I have done virtually 3 years in Canada and lived within the French-speaking Quebec area. My experiences have been overwhelmingly negative in terms of the persistent hiring discrimination and systemic racism in my field of communications and journalism. Each time I applied for jobs in my field, the outcome was predictable and negative: prolonged periods of silence when I seemed to be a good fit for the positions and then rejection emails the moment they found a “candidate of their preference.” Most of the time I also noticed companies seemed to use the information against me each time I identified myself as a “black male” in my online applications, although they often claim to encourage racial minorities to apply and to not discriminate on the basis of race, gender and national origin. The only time I got a callback for a job in my field happened when I didn’t identify my race and when my interviewer- a naïve sounding white lady heard my foreign accent, it immediately worked against me although it was for a writing job. Based on my own personal experiences, I have concluded that in Canada, the more educated and experienced you are as a black male, the more discrimination you face, because prejudiced hiring managers feel threatened and prefer thinking about most of us as janitors, bus drivers, taxi drivers, etc. My Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees are from two, US universities and in the 11 years I spent in the US, I actually had way better experiences and never endured through close to even half of the systemic racism and hiring discrimination I have seen in Canada in almost 3 years. I definitely look forward to leaving Canada for good and returning to my home country God willing sometime next year, as I can’t continue to be in a country where I’m wasting my talents. Though it is so well hidden and more polite, I think Canada is by far more racist than America. It’s just a firmly established, “silent racism.”
Well said! I work in HR in Canada and I'm the only black female in my company. It's a very silent racism but it does exist. Most non-white applicants don't even stand a chance during the hiring process. It's sad.
Jackai as someone with both black and indigenous ancestry you are absolutely right about Canada for the most part. A lot of me Continental African bredren are totally clueless about the west and absolutely refuse to listen when you tell them, look homie they b running game on you . When Mzungu invites you for a meal they don't tell you that you are the main course. Some people do well here but for most immigrants especially the black ones they stay loosing for life. It is setup like that so don't be a Mu mu. I would say the U.S is not less racist than Canada , Canadians are just more effective racists because they are better con artists.
TILT THE NATIONS thanks for watching till the end. I have other people that have shared their different opinion about Canada with me. I listen with an open mind and remember that what’s good for me won’t be good for everyone because my opinion is still a bit different from theirs. Thanks for watching sis! 💕
i sooo much agree with the interviewee. I believe people get it mixed up. I personally wish to return back to Nigeria after some years and work back in Nigeria as an expatraiate/consultant etc and continue to grow and expand my business operation. In as much as Canada has so much benefits, i beleive it isnt the final bus stop for everyone. For some, its a phase. Speaking of which, I personally advised my friends earning very well in Nigeria and those in the media world/those that deal with social interactions not to move to Canada because their lives just become dead there. It can be very quiet here, very lonely, depressing, challenging and more. I think this is very common with those of us that are single, here without family. I have come to believe this is very different for those that move as a family or the single mothers etc. Play your cards wisely. Either ways there is something to benefit, just exploit the right option. Cheers. Thanks for the video.
You are correct. My sister is 34 living alone in USA , no bf or husband no kids....she gets depressed cos life is so lonely. Most pple she meets are bums, live a lie, etc.
The guest is a WHOLE vibe, I enjoyed this video. I kinda get a feel of her based on her personality. It is jovial, fun and playful. It must have been a bit hard being lonely and I totally get . Also the fact she is single may have contributed. For me, anyone whose parents paid for their entire degree education comes from a fairly decent home. So I guess it was easier for her to return home. I believe she has her papers too so she can keep visiting and even have her kids there. I know people like her who studied abroad, had papers and still decided to return home. Its okay too, just do you. You'll always know when it's time to leave a place.
Bisola you are not alone.I moved back to the country i moved from.I was very depressed when i was in canada.I lived in lethbridge, alberta. As far as you find a sense of fulfillment in where you are, don't let no one tell you otherwise.Remember it is you that matters, not people's opinions.I am also a nigerian just like you.
Healthy Living,Herbs & Supplements. Remedies Yes o! As far as you find a sense of fulfillment where you are then you’re good. It’s your decision so no one should choose for you. Thanks for sharing 💕
This is a nice video, when I went to study in Europe, I felt that loneliness but I still feel my children should have that opportunity of studying there or leaving abroad
Yes I think everyone should have whatever opportunities they see is best for them. My parents gave me the opportunity to school abroad and I’m forever grateful for it and at the end of the day the support me in choosing to do whatever I want to do with thy education 💜
Ada Atigogo yes, I support that. A lot of people move abroad and endure because their “WHY”/goal is a better life for their children so that’s good. They will definitely appreciate you for that! Thanks for watching! 💕
When I tell my friends I cant and won't want to live abroad they think I'm sick... I give them this scenario: If my father's house is cool and has the basic things and gadgets and it's comfortable, I won't want to go to my uncle house to live except I'm visiting... Same goes to traveling abroad... I'd like to visit and come back home... I pray my fatherland bless me...
Good Makky Honestly, it’s not for everyone. Just because it works for one person doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. I know Nigeria doesn’t treat her citizens well but there are still some people that won’t want to live abroad and at the end of the day we are all on different journeys. Thanks for watching sis! 💕
Please if you're watching this video and thinking of relocating to the UK or America, save yourself the energy. The US is even far worse in terms of racial injustice and it exists in all sectors. I've lived here for 11 years and it's not getting better any time soon, trust me. And the monotony of a 9-5 life, don't even get me started. I get that some people may see the west as better but for others it's not. I would choose to live in Nigeria or any other part of Africa any day than the west. Nigeria has it's challenges but being a majority and creating a solution in my home country is more appealing. We can build Africa to be what the west is, the issue is that most people don't want to put in the work or they just give up too easily. Thank you Tobi for the great content, I enjoyed the conversation!
F D. You’re absolutely right, some people may see the west everything and some don’t. Honestly, I feel whatever rocks your boat and meets your goals and future ambition. For me, I’m still here and okay here and my guest is back in Nigeria and happy there so one size doesn’t fit all. Thanks for your comment!! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏾
Lol, you hear people complaining of abroad life and all and they are still there.. if it's not good for you move back home.. Good to hear, she moved home. It all depends... one, she is from a wealthy home and i guess as she has returned home, she has uncles, aunties that get her a good job.. trust me if you are from struggling family in Nigeria and you able to get out, you will endure to sustain your family back in Naija
Idara Okposen yup, glad she had the opportunity to move back. Yes o! That’s why it depends on your goal for moving abroad. People have different goals, some people come here to sustain their family back home or for better life for their children so they can endure anything and some come to make money or for school so they can afford to leave if they don’t like it. Thanks for watching and commenting! 💕
Reality of life she is not hungry if she was hungry she will discover her talent . The only reason she gave up was because know she has a home to stay and live a beautiful life in nigeria . If her parents were living in one bedroom with 4 kids in nigeria she fight and fight to make it in canada
iamwikiman channel Yes o! Same, as long as you’re happy then that’s the best decision for you. I’m happy here in Canada and she’s happy back in Nigeria. Yup, at least she has a Canadian degree/education so that’s good. Thanks for watching & commenting! 🙏🏾💕
Oluseun wikiman express entry is still an option but you will have to be very strong in other aspects because once you’re above 30 years old your points reduce. PNP is another option if you’re 40 and above but a few provinces won’t want you to be above 50.
God bless you for this chat you had with your friends who has had a experience in going to and living in Canada. Bringing out the reality we are likely to meet on a daily basis is a very good thing you are doing here.
Great Video! I’ve been in canada for 3yrs+ and trust me I’m not finding it funny here, its really hard for me, I don’t find happiness here at all..Planning on moving back to Nigeria, just for my happiness
Well said guys. I’m not discouraging anyone from traveling out of Nigeria or returning back to Nigeria. Honestly, I preferred to face any loneliness in Abroad than to remained in Nigeria where there are a lot of problems. No electricity, No good roads, No good Hospital, no security. Highest Unemployment the Government is careless. Leaders stealing public money. No good schools. Expensive private university build buy our religious leaders. Therefore, My beautiful Sisters, I still preferred Staying abroad. I better eat fine, Sleep fine, drive good cars with the best roads than going to Nigeria to meet poverties and friends that will never help me for anything. Forget going for partying with hunger stomach. Good luck 👍.
As in ehn. Who cares about loneliness when I'm comfortable and there's light 24/7. I mean to each their own but after struggling and struggling to get a visa you have good roads. Better health care. Light. Not to mention job opportunities that you don't have to give small bribe to get. Then I will run back to because I'm missing friends lol I'm sorry o me I like money and I don't mind working. It's the same work you're coming to Nigeria to work at the end of the day so I'd rather choose to work there than suffer here. Parties can go to hell.
Hey ladies. I live in calgary and can testify as a single lady that loneliness is real. You want to connect with people and everyone is busy chasing $$. Being abroad doesnt equate to success as you say. There is discrimination here, to get a meaningful job and get ordinary job interview isn't easy. Even the student loan isnt easy to pay off. Life here isn't easy, its pretty much the same in Nigeria. I'm able to save though, and cut down on cost. it all depends on lifestyle and discipline. The goal is always to get a higher paid job to foot your expenses. Canada is still better than Nigeria-stable lifestyle, no job security though, the houses cost a fortune especially mortgage, Canada isnt for everyone. I still believe i can move on from this place someday. I'm not limited to this country. Goodluck everyone! thanks for the clip.
I moved to the US to be with my fiance and I must admit,I go crazy many times becouse life is so boring ,I have no friend all I do is work ,watch TV and school. I may move to Africa to work after I graduate,I can't live in this isolation forever it's really tough. Somedays I cry,but I have my daughters that keeps me pushing everytime I see them.
@@ezn7977 I mean tbh, I only work 3 days a week which is a great thing but if I could find a job that pays the same or even half back home, I would gladly move back home but pending that time we’ll just keep thanking God and hope that things get better
@@lumitune yea i feel you. Very cold where I live, a lot of times I crave su shine and heat. Would have gone to the islands for vacation but corona killed it. Now its winter. 17 hours to naija, the flight is too long
For me am actually lucky that things worked for me on getting to Canada in October 2018. The truth is; Canada is not for everyone. My simple advise is for people to embrace hard-work and our people should stop faking it 🥰👍👍👍✊✊✊
My first time here on your channel and I just sub. I really enjoyed this video as I could relate to all that you discussed here. I have spent just 2 years in India and I can't wait to go back home, the problems of we diasporans seems to be the same anywhere in the world. I have heard other people experiences and coupled with mine I also decided Nigeria is the place for people like me. Thumbs up Tobi, I wish I could become friends with your guest😊
BerNina TV Thanks for subscribing sis! 💕. Yes o, very similar experiences we face outside Nigeria, sometimes there’s truly no place like home..although Nigeria can be so frustrating. Yeah, abroad isn’t for everyone, just do what works for you and what’s best for you. Lol, everyone wants to be friends with her.. it’s like I’ll open application form 😂😂. Thanks for watching sis! 💕
Lovely guest... I had my own share of the Calgary blow especially with the recession and high unemployment rate, so I can understand how she felt. I Wish her the very best
Thank you DR RORPOPOR HERBAL on RUclips for restoring back my peace, joy and happiness, your herbal supplement really make me great now, am a complete woman
Thanks for this video. New subscriber here, lived in USA for over 30yrs. I live financially comfortable but hates living in the western world. My solution is straddling between both continents Africa/USA. So I get to have a balance of both worlds. Western world is definitely not for everyone. I have friends who loves it. For me home is where my heart remains. I love Lagos life💕💕💕
This life have no duplicate, just one life. Please do what good for yourself. I'm currently living in Sydney, Australia. I want to relocate from Australia back to Nigeria to start a new life. One cannot rest here in the western world until one die. So this is my experience here in Australia. I want to go and try my luck in Africa as I had enough here. Thank you.
Good for her that she followed her heart. I personally think its too early for her to know where is best for her professionally. For a fresh graduate out of school she is still trying to find herself. One of the best thing that can happen to a fresh graduate is to find a mentor who can assist you in your area of passion. Its a pity she had bad experiences with her first jobs. I left a job in Nigeria paying over a million to move to Canada just last year and initially I felt it was a bad move but slowly I am begining to enjoy Canada and all my plans are slowly falling in place. I would say I approached it with the right attitude. Faced the challenges headon and won't mind sending out over a 100 applications just to get myself a job. And you must assess the opportunity also before you accept it, its not like Nigeria here. You must constantly be on your toes because a wide range of your competitors are equally smart. It all depends on what you want in life. I wish her all the best in Nigeria, either way you need to work hard and be resolute with your plans.
Ajibola Sodeinde Yes o! Honestly the competition is hot here. Ahh that over 100 application is normal level 😂😂😩. We need a lot of patience! Patience is a must but yeah it really depends on what you want in life. If your goals in life fits Canada perfectly then you’ll endure anything and the patience will come. So happy things are falling into place for you, great to hear 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾🙏🏾Thanks for watching and commenting! 💕
Honestly, i'll like to put it this way - "Different strokes for different folks..." I respect the decision of your friend here, as she decided to return back to Nigeria. Buh I'm positive, if she has the opportunity to "switch tables" with some other folks, she might have rescinded on her decision. Imagine being the first born, and your siblings look up to you for inspiration in certain areas of life. I'm sure there'll be lot of scenarios to either justify or negate her actions if lots of people have the opportunity to share their views. There're always be two sides to a coin, and like what she had felt, what truly matters is your happiness....maybe or maybe not!!! I've a cousin who resigned from her "well-paid" Nigerian law firm job, and moved over to Canada to raise a family. At present, she resides in Calgary - Alberta. On the hand, there's this friend who would do everything to get a good job and life in Lagos - Nigeria, and has never seen what's so peculiar about living a life out of the shores of this country. However, his wife has been flirting with the idea of raising their unborn children "abroad", and ensuring its mandatory so. Knowing that he earns well over N4 million annually should give you an insight into how well-paid his job is. But his wife has a different opinion - "her kids would not be raised in this country". Often times, there's the need to sacrifice the "comfort zone" mentality for a much bigger picture!!! One question i would have loved to ask of her is "Given the opportunity that she has, and from her experience, where would she have preferred her children be raised". Bottom line is, know and go for what you want, try living a life of sacrifice for others, or as much as possible try to find a balance between both. Above all let God be your guide. Good luck to your friend in her endeavors. Cheers.
Yeah, different strokes to different folks ✅ oh definitely, there will always be two sides.. you’re right. Some people even in the comment section relate to her and some don’t. Yup, as some people put their happiness first and some would endure things. That would have been a great question! That’s so true. Yeah, I feel people have their different reasons for moving abroad. A lot of people fall under the category of doing it for their children and we know parents sacrifice a lot for their children so they can endure any storm that arises. Some actually move for money and as they are here they build homes back home and leave when they feel they’ve made a lot and you know how sometimes having abroad experience or education might open doors for one in Nigeria since that’s how our country is..connection or that or luck few times. Some move to Austin their families back home so they have to be willing to sacrifice a lot and endure anything, some just for the papers and many more reasons. Yeah, you’re right! Know your “why” for moving, things are mainly based on personal circumstance, remember your end goal since we all don’t have the same end goal and follow God’s plan for your life. Thanks for watching & commenting Adewale, nice one 🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@obn1459 lol... Well, you can say that again. For some, its a good start, specially when you consider the level and position, cum when you're fresh outta college. I ain't in no doubt of the reality of your assertions though. It is what it is. Cheers Bruv.
Am in my last year of university in Canada 🇨🇦 and your friend is spot on! Living abroad is not for everyone! Yes the system is more organized but there are other factors in life you have to consider before relocating!
Hi Tobi, I love the advice and conversations you're having here for Nigerians/immigrants wanting to move to Canada. I'm Nigerian born, Canada raised girl who now works as an expat in Tokyo, Japan in I.T company. I'd love to do an interview with you on your channel, to give perspective on the opportunities outside of Canada also especially in APAC. Let me know if I can contact you on this :) - Mary
Hey Mary, how are you? I’m currently trying to decide between Canada and Japan, I’m into IT as well! Do you enjoy living in Japan? How was it finding a job there? Sorry for the questions 🙈
Mary Ralladi what is it in Japan.. Tell us opportunities abound in Japan for immigrants. Inbox me. Am also in Arab nations wanting to go japan. Email: brightstmanonline@yahoo.com
Hey Mary I wish i had met u when i lived in Tokyo. The loneliness was killing me. I moved to the UK and then moved back home to Ivory Coast. Now want to go to Canada.
UNBEATABLE So sorry about that. There are a lot of people that feel the way you do!! hopefully it gets better for you. It really depends on the individual, for me I’m okay here. I agree with you about the life, it’s basically work work work 😩😩. Thanks for watching! 😊
This video isn’t to discourage anyone..remember this channel is about sharing information on moving to Canada & life in Canada and I’m here for you, I’m even waiting to welcome you in Canada 💃🏾 🇨🇦.
It’s good to hear different sides with an open mind, watch the video and learn from her advice and mistake... in life there’s a takeaway for every story whether a positive or negative story. Everyone’s experience here is different just like everyone’s reason for coming here is different. Just “Farabale” more stories coming! (Send me an email if you’re interested in sharing your story/experience in Canada to encourage others/share the reality/advice others and so people can learn from your story so their journey can be better here - tobiadekeye@yahoo.com)
Remember one size doesn’t fit all. Everyone with his/her preference(s) and different journeys in Canada that’s why I decided to start this segment on my channel to share different experiences. It’s your life decision so don’t be discouraged about moving to Canada and don’t be pressured to move to Canada. Best wishes on whichever path you choose, thanks for watching ! 💕

She needs the Nigerian hustling spirit, she is inclined to luxry.
ifelajulo fasina Lol, I know this babe and I know she’s a hustler even as she’s back home she’s hustling way more than she was here as there’s more freedom. If someone wants a luxury lifestyle at the end of the day how’s that bad? Me I want a luxury lifestyle at the end of the day and I have my plan to get there. Your guest is very correct BUT
3.Don't pick your destination in Canada because your friends reside in the province(friends won't pay your bills)

I rarely comment but i must say your guest is really on point. I have been abroad for over 15 years now and must say no place like home. I disagree with lots of comment saying she's probably from middle class family, guys happiness is all that matters. No matter your background.

On the flip side, I still love it down here in spite of the many challenges, for someone like me who grew up on the street of Lagos, going back is not even an option.lol
Just recently I got a sweet job with a US company as a remote technical analyst, this was only possible coz I stop applying to jobs but instead reach out to my white friends for job referral...Lest I forget I was also able to bring my long time girlfriend here under the spousal visa during my final year of university and together we've been able to weather the storm.
Canada is no doubt a land of opportunity but mehnn, it requires perseverance, patience, hardwork, focus and most importantly God...

Yes, same with me..that’s why I’m still here, lol. I feel one has to just understand how things work here and if it fits your end goal then you’ll love it here but if it doesn’t align with your goal you might not enjoy it. Research is so important!
The video wasn’t made to deter anyone, it’s just one persons experience, there are more videos coming and my channel is actually about moving to Canada/life in Canada but I believe people can learn from others so that’s why I decided to start this segment, there are more experiences coming both good, better and all.
Congrats to her💃🏾🎉🎉

It’s not easy anywhere, it all depends on what rocks your boat, what you want in life, reason for relocating. But if you put both countries on a scale, Canada surpasses Nigeria in so many areas; health, education, security... just so your research and be certain about what you want .

Those who move back to Nigeria have their PR or citizenship already and if not, probably they are from rich family or have a good job.
You really planned yourself well and didn’t get trapped here 😂
I left Canada a year ago, BEST DECISION I COULD HAVE MADE. it does not work for everyone. live in your truth and accept it.
Social life in Canada vs. social life in Nigeria are as different as night and day.The only way to be comfortable here is to be in a professional job such as accounting, nursing, engineering, doctor, etc....if youre doing ordinary jobs you will be competing with even more people and you will not be as happy.
Jane I Yup, you’re right! Thanks for watching! 💕
Tobi Adekeye Exactlyyyyy, I couldn’t agree more!
Sounds like she comes from a comfortable family in Nigeria which will explain why Canada is "depressing" for her. For those who come from poverty, complaining about Canadian depression is a luxury they can't afford
Exactly
Lol
Very accurate

½ of the aforementioned population are poor. The population has only being of benefits to the ruling class&few elites.

What is the situation like in u.s, is it better, in terms of migration, jobs etc

Well what works for you might not work for me
It depends on your personality..I have lived in both countries but there’s no comparison at all.. Nigeria is Nigeria, Canada is Canada
It’s true abroad generally can be lonely for singles , when you move to canada with family eh it’s the best thing that can happen to you .
A lot of students struggle to get permanent residence . It can be difficult.
The basic amenities that give me a good life and happiness is here in Canada.
Can you compare a nurse in Nigeria and a nurse abroad not to mention Canada .
Come through PR , get a good job and live your life
If you miss African good come to me I’ll give you a contact that will ship whatever you need .
In summary what works for you will never work for me .
Life is better here compared to where I’m coming from. Not everyone abroad or in Canada came out for money
Most people just want to be comfortable and enjoy their money too
Everyone will always give their reason to justify their decision after all ..

Nice listening to this discussion, it has changed my perception about certain things. Great
Jerry Anih Good you listened with an open mind. Hope it didn’t discourage you tho because that wasn’t the purpose of the video. So true
Your friend, Bisola is a delight. She's so delightfully restless and reminds me of my friend.

AFRICA IS PARADISE.....I LOVE MY VILLAGE LIFE.....NO STRESS...EVERYTHING IS ORGANIC....FORGET ABOUT OYIBOLAND......THANK GOD FOR AFRICA....
Each time I applied for jobs in my field, the outcome was predictable and negative: prolonged periods of silence when I seemed to be a good fit for the positions and then rejection emails the moment they found a “candidate of their preference.”
Most of the time I also noticed companies seemed to use the information against me each time I identified myself as a “black male” in my online applications, although they often claim to encourage racial minorities to apply and to not discriminate on the basis of race, gender and national origin.
It's sad.
It way more racist for sure it's just more covert and the systemic racism is EVERYWHERE in canada not just Quebec
I totally agree👏
Jackai as someone with both black and indigenous ancestry you are absolutely right about Canada for the most part. A lot of me Continental African bredren are totally clueless about the west and absolutely refuse to listen when you tell them, look homie they b running game on you . When Mzungu invites you for a meal they don't tell you that you are the main course. Some people do well here but for most immigrants especially the black ones they stay loosing for life. It is setup like that so don't be a Mu mu.
I would say the U.S is not less racist than Canada , Canadians are just more effective racists because they are better con artists.

i sooo much agree with the interviewee.

I'm telling you ! Nigeria messes with your sanity .

I personally love making friends from other countries, just so I can learn from them...
Well said Guys, this was such a great video.
Lovely guest... I had my own share of the Calgary blow especially with the recession and high unemployment rate, so I can understand how she felt. I Wish her the very best
