I've been waiting to see something like this. It seems so obvious to combine traditional machining with additive manufacturing, adding and removing support structures as needed, overbuilding to minimize porosity/unwanted voids, then trimming back to spec.

definetly reduces chip waste, i wonder how long process time compares and if it would actualy be worth it
@@timgoodliffeprocess time is usually longer.... But if it's a printable material it's cheaper to print and then machine to cleanup
