I watched this as a 17yr old in NZ. I was shocked. ABs had been pretty rocky under Mains losing the Bedisloe in '92 and the series tio Aus plus and a game to the World 15 also , dropping a Lions test and losing to England in '93. But France had a historic loss to Canada and NZ 'B" prior to this test so we didnt think they would be much chop. France surprised us all.
A brilliant 2-0 series win. Five years later, France would play the test of the ( last ) century. During the 1999 RWC semi-final against New Zealand. France came from behind ( 24-10 ) to beat a very strong All Blacks team 43-31.
Saint-Andre asks Kirwan to swap jerseys, but JK says he's already got something organised, so Saint-Andre ends up swapping with Lomu and is wearing it at the end of the video.
France had some serious players in that era , maybe I'm looking at the game through rose tinted glasses but I preferred the game then and of course you were allowed to ruck which creates quick ball which isn't allowed anymore.
