I have a question. What pedal or procesor fits Best to this guitar? I have a moeerG100 and I can't Say it's not good, but i really feel that this guitar can do way more. Can You send me a few models to View?
I've got that model. Put it in the hands of several experienced players (who had no idea about Harley Benton or the price) and said "what's wrong with it?" - "Nothing. Absolutely nothing." was the universal response. They were astounded when I told them the price. One of them ordered the Pelham blue one immediately. From Germany to US was US$222 + US$79 shipping from Thomann! I didn't have to pay any import costs either (might not be everyone's experience)
In November of ‘24 I’m going to order one in black with gold trim ( beautiful ! ) , currently $226 and $80 s/h . Still well made and priced right . I have a few other HB guitars and all are lower end but I love each and every one of them ! A great product for a great price ! And yes , if I lived in the UK , no s/h , I’d be getting a new one every month or so ! Take care everyone .
You just keep getting better at playing blues Shane. Don't get me wrong you've always been a great player, but following your videos for years you really see that you keep developing as a player and in making videos. Keep up the good work!
I have one of these. It's become one of my favourites. Love the neck profile and the Roswell pickups. Sounds and plays like a dream and balance on a strap is perfect. Great vid Shane. Cheers!
I just got one a couple weeks ago and I agree, it’s a fantastic guitar. I had the firefly 338 and this Harley Benton is way nicer playing and sounding. I really like the 2 Harley Benton’s that I have theyre great for the price
Another great video. Surprised about the split coil sounding so good. Was expecting a nasty thin single coil from the bridge but it was actually ok. Nice job Shane
I've had my HB35+ since 2017, I've been living happily with it all along since then. True I did a fret levelling on it pretty much straight away but that was to get another 1/64th less of an action bringing a buzz-less 6/64ths down to a 5/64ths. Much nicer sounding now. I decided I didn't need a Sire H-7 after all 😉 ... (Still got the G.A.S. for it though😜)
I believe they are even way better now. It is apparent from various reviews (eytsch42 did two, years apart) that HBs are getting better each year, not only new models, but even longer running models are getting various upgrades (graphite nuts, Wilkinson hw etc.)...
@@janzahalka9096 Who measures fret clearance though? Phil McKnight does, maybe one or two others. It's really the only thing that you need to know and no one tells you. Maybe that tells you something.
Have to say that solo in the beginning was maybe the best I have ever heard you play. You could’ve made Clapton blush with that one! I own 2 Harley Benton’s. This might end up my 3rd. Great review.
I brought one dry..didn't see or look for any reviews and I love it its the same left handed model you're reviewing but i have no buzz or crack in the finish. Played a few gigs and done some recording with it and again no problem. For your information I play rock and roll/rockabilly. Great guitar at a affordable price
My lefty HB35plus was awesome out of the box last Christmas. I put a set of 9s on it and it is so slinky it's ridiculous. It is incredibly versatile, too, and instead of a tone bleed I use my Belcat blues pedal and lower the volume and voila! Great demo, Shane. I have more T styles from Harley Benton, too and they've been good to great buys. B stock might save you the shipping fee equivalent if you're lucky.
For $222 US this is a great value to performance deal! I’ve been interested in this model ever since I discovered Harley Benton (Thanks Nick in the States!!😉). Listening to various tones Shane got from this HB35 Plus has reignited my wanting of this guitar! Similar to my Epiphone LP Special, I feel this guitar will be an affordable, well playing guitar that I can grab at a moments notice. My only concern is the long trip from Germany to my home. I hope the increase in shipping cost will also mean better packaging and more carefully handling. Outside of the shipping, I really dig this guitar and I think I’m having another new guitar itch!!!! Help!!!😂😂😆😎🎸🎸🎸🎸
GREAT demo of this HB retro axe! Just WATCH some of their models, they have some real design flaws that need a LOT of work to correct, to get optimal playability! I have 2 basses, 1 set up fantastically after a good fret level and set up, the other, needed a bridge replacement as it didn't have enough action adjustment, 2 fret levels and tapers, & it still isn't 100%, even tho the bass it self sounds wonderful! Poor neck pitching has resulted inadequate room to move on set up!

From memory though, the Thommann shipping price kills the deal for Harley Benton stuff. It's been a while since I've looked though.
As luck would have it a lefty came up locally at half list price. I have an Epi DOT aswell, but don't want to risk it leaving the house (can't get them any more). Although i prefer the Epi, there not much in it, the HB is a bit brighter and more versatile overall. They're both seriously good guitars and have slightly different "voices", love them both.
This guitar is one of the Best. I have one, when I play I forget to eat. IT is a budget guitar, but I think very soon enough the price will get higher, because in my opinion it's worth at least 4 times it's value. I also have an electro-classical Ortega guitar at 260 Euros that i bought last year, and now it is 400 Euros. So.....If You find a very good guitar at a low or entry price, buy it if You want it, because You never know. The thing is, with musical instruments, that the price will always go higher in time.
Sounds sweeter if you lower the neck pickup to flush with the surround and raise the pole pieces 2mm - though not the B and G string...then match height of bridge pickup to that of the neck one. Maybe give them a half turn instead of 2 full turns
Finally, does the HB35 PLUS have a mahogany or maple neck? I was looking at other HB 335 copies and they have maple necks. Can you tell us whether the PLUS has a maple or mahogany neck please?

Awesome sounding tones. You said in the beginning of the video that is has "coil tapping" but then when you engaged it you said "split coil". The specs on Thomann say coil splitting so I'm guessing that's what you meant at the beginning?
Another Great Demo and Review!!! Thanks to Thomann and Harley Benton for sending this guitar to you to demo and review. I was surprisingly impressed with the clean tones with both the Humbucker and Single Coil Split. Thank you for your usual great demo and review. Please keep the great videos coming, Shane.
Out of tune in some parts brother, but great playing, they need bone nuts , new bridge, and new machine heads, then you got a great guitar. :) Very subtle , but i can hear it, B maybe a little sharp , and E a little flat ...
I have this guitar. It's fantastic. However the scratchplate....has it 1 or 2 removable protective films? I've removed 1 and it looks a bit scruffy. Help Thomann please?
Sounded overly bright to me especially with the humbuckers. That could just be the way you have it with the EQ. Iy seems you just enjoy a really bright tone?
I didn't know HB (Thomann) shipped to Australia til l saw this mate.. can you get Sire guitars in US/Mex? They're well made & priced better than Epiphone (no coil taps tho).
You can't find them because they're sold exclusively by Thomann, that means you have to buy online. The good news is that they ship almost everywhere around the world, so you just have to see if it's worth to pay shipping and import taxes (in case you have those)
@@intheblues The guitar may have got slightey damaged when it arrived to your house. That's why I would never buy a guitar on the internet. I'd rather go in a store and play it first. If I like it, I'd buy it. If not, go to next guitar.
I've just taken delivery of a HB 35+ and it looks awesome, however I have one observation. The Neck pickup is noticeably inclined with the heads at the neck end considerably lower from the strings than those on the Bridge pickup. I don't know if this is by design but will it affect the volume of the Neck pickup and hence the sound balance when both pickups are selected? If it's a flaw then how do I adjust the height of the Neck pickup so it's aligned with the Bridge one? Any suggestions anyone?

PLEASE!!! They are coil SPLIT switches NOT coil tap. There is such thing as coil tap switching. That is when the tap is taken from somwhere other than the end of the coil hence, tap. Coil split is when you can select from doublecoil or split/single coil. Split and tap are NOT the same. It isnt rocket surgery. Pleast try to get it right so that you no longer mislead buyers. Thanks

Well I don't know how you guys rave about the pick-ups. No matter what I do the sound is muddy. It looks good, plays well but I just think it is not for me. So disapointing.
Did you try with adjusting pick up height? Dont forget that 335 is more in a mid range tone Guitar..it's not an Easy Guitar..you' ve got to know It in Deep..
OMG..it is an OUTPUT jack NOT an input jack. Well unless that guitar has a built-in amp or speaker. Normal guitars have OUTput jacks and NOT input jacks. PLEASE

Start of the 80's cheap guitars were absolute garbish. I bought a 150 Dollar guitar at the time and it was awful. Just couldn't afford a better one. I saved all the money i could and bought a Hoyer Eagle. It was about 1200 Dollar. Great guitar. But it is unbelievable what you get for 200 - 300 Dollars today. And even for 100 Dollar you can get a Strat copy that is better than the 400 Dollar copies in the 80's. Not adjusted for inflation. So don't think about your gear. Just start to play.
$350 dollar guitar and $200 to ship to Oz. Yeah nah. Coil tap looks interesting, my Artist does t stay in tune so i tread carefully with ya low budget but nice looking guitar reviews. 100% directed to the ‘home/church use’ market not working musicians.
If you want to read specs instead of hear it, go for it. People who play a similar style or actually play, will get a benefit out of the back catalog of videos on my channel and on RUclips.

Very nice, been considering buying one of those, but those nagging fit and finish questions keep popping into my brain.
Where can l buy Harley Benton guitar here in Victoria, Australia though??
Wow you been practicing Nice
Is there a significant loss of volume when you split coils?
It is noticeable, but not severe.
Very nice guitar. Love that jam track you corded to. My problem cannot buy in USA or Mexico. Have seen several HB that I like, but cannot find here.
I didn't know HB (Thomann) shipped to Australia til l saw this mate.. can you get Sire guitars in US/Mex? They're well made & priced better than Epiphone (no coil taps tho).
You can't find them because they're sold exclusively by Thomann, that means you have to buy online.
The good news is that they ship almost everywhere around the world, so you just have to see if it's worth to pay shipping and import taxes (in case you have those)
You wont find them there, you order from Germany. The website tells you that if you look.
Never heard of Sire guitars, but available on Mexico Amazon, but more expensive, a bit, than Epiphone. Thx.
A guitar that has a buzzing string I say no to. But strings can be changed. I recommend Ernie Ball strings. They are the best.
It’s not the string that buzzes it’s one of the saddles.
@@intheblues The guitar may have got slightey damaged when it arrived to your house. That's why I would never buy a guitar on the internet. I'd rather go in a store and play it first. If I like it, I'd buy it. If not, go to next guitar.
Nice tone!!!
Dang, that sounds nice!
I just wonder what the people making these guitars get paid for their hard work
Who cares its voluntary
@@jamesallen8917 really, making a living is voluntary.
@@jamesallen8917 it's voluntary as far as it's their only option. Same foolish idea libertarians have when they say it's impossible to enter into an immoral contract because you signed on the dotted line. For example , you don't have to enter into an agreement with a company who charges a substantial cancellation fee. However good luck because they're all doing it
@@jdl2180 yes, of course it is.
Ask them ...would you rather have your job or not ? Every country started somewhere
@@dannondavis8091 every country started somewhere, in the uk and the u.s people worked in terrible conditions until we built up a wealthy nation and conditions could improve, that didnt just happen , our grand parents built it!
Also if you ask these people building guitars ...would you prefer to have your job or have it disappear?
Theyd choose to have their job
6:41 What name of melody in this time? Thanks
It's a riff similar to All Your Lovin'.
Sweet man...
Hi love mine … I have the sunburst HB 35 I took off the pick guard it looks fantastic ❤
Has anyone here had issues buying from Australia? Just a bit skeptical ordering overseas.
Thanks
Omg what a treasonous crime! You are a dork. First of all he isn’t selling the guitar, check with the actual manufacturer for 100% accurate specs not a dude on youtube
Wow!!! 👍🏻
06:41 is that all your love?
Well I don't know how you guys rave about the pick-ups. No matter what I do the sound is muddy. It looks good, plays well but I just think it is not for me. So disapointing.
Did you try with adjusting pick up height? Dont forget that 335 is more in a mid range tone Guitar..it's not an Easy Guitar..you' ve got to know It in Deep..
OMG..it is an OUTPUT jack NOT an input jack. Well unless that guitar has a built-in amp or speaker. Normal guitars have OUTput jacks and NOT input jacks. PLEASE
Dude I’m gonna follow you around because you have the lamest comments I’ve ever seen….OMG it’s cherry red not candy apple red, ok Blaren1 I guess you always speak 100% perfectly
Cost me $500 to fix the frets on my Harley Benton... worst guitars ever...
I am not sure why you guys play the guitars in all these videos. Do these guitars all sound different to people?
If you want to read specs instead of hear it, go for it. People who play a similar style or actually play, will get a benefit out of the back catalog of videos on my channel and on RUclips.
@@intheblues They are great videos. But to me the more valuable stuff is when you talk about your impression of them, and their play ability.
@@valueofnothing2487 I do that at the end of every video.
