. On many of my wifes jewelry they were bought from jewelry stores and guaranteed to be diamonds, and yes we have had many of them officially tested at different jewelry stores. One thing about those diamond testers is you have to make sure that their warmed up of course, and there is a size of the diamond sensitivity type of adjustment that you have to make. Very interesting discussion. I have found a lot of different semiprecious stones while rock hounding. I have quite a few pieces of dark blue and aquamarine beryl from Ontario. I also picked up 2 clear stones, a larger clear stone with a hint of blue, and a larger stone that is clear but slightly darker. All will scratch the beryl I have, some easier than others. I think they are sapphires and possibly one is topaz. I am going to do density tests.
@@ChrisRalph Update: I measured the specific gravity (SG) of the 4 clear stones and determined they are all beryl. One is a clear and very light aquamarine and the others are goshinite.
thank you for this. very helpful. one question i have is regarding how 'most' diamonds have the triangular shapes; ive noticed in some pics theres a few diamonds that seem irregular shaped and dont fit that triangle type description, and they look random shaped/bubbly. whats that about?
This content is very informative; thanks for sharing ideas sir.Because i have an egg shape stone and can you help me to determine what kind of these stone?
Sir I have a lot of crystal rocks with different colors like grayish-blue,orange-yellow and cloudy white.I would like to know what kind of crystals but I don't know how to test it.Could you help me to do this.? Thanks.
Sorry. I get many of these requests and you cant just look at a crystal and know its valuable ore. An actual test is needed. So I dont offer a photo ID service.

Hi! Awsome videos! I was wondering if "cape may dimonds" are capable of having dimond quilitys or is it closer in resembling a Herkimer diamond? They apear to have natural facets.. I guess what i am intrested in, trying to figure out is what would be the gem quility of "Cape May diamonds"?
@@ChrisRalph I figured they were quartz as well, i have a gem tester and on some of them which beeped all the way to red and i didnt underatand it so i thought maybe they could be dimonds lol i guess i was hoping they werent quartz. Thank you. Im still trying to figure the tester out probably doing somthing wrong.
Moissanite is a man made substance, and not a diamond. The same material (silicon carbide ) is used for sandpaper and grinding wheels. It is a diamond substitute, and looks somewhat similar to a diamond.
Hey just out of curiosity will any other gemstone set off a thermal tester I have a diamond selector 2 that goes off with a stone that we have found and then fits the description of a possible diamond so I would like to know if courts or any other Stone would set this off like that
Hi all :)😊 I have a respectful question re: diamond/gem testing tools - I popped it in ‘reply’ to Michael’s feedback on diamond testers. Loving the vids, info and comments 🙏
Hi, I have a massive piece of rock which has clusters of diamond shapes. Not any shape consistent with quartz but all sides like a pyramid both top and bottom. I have asked local lapidary clubs but they keep sayings it is quartz. I f I look at your diagrams and look at my crystals I see the same diamond shape. the igneous rock I have has tiny diamonds contained within. Your video came up on you tube the other day without me actually looking for it. obviously the universe wanted me to watch it. When I get my claim up and running I will inform you Sir. Thank you for posting this information, love and light to You.
On the shape, especially on alluvial diamonds, they can look like anything because they break on the internal defects in the rivers, where I stay we find small pieces quite often,
Yes, a diamond can break, most often it cleaves, I get folks who have a 6 sided crystal with a point (quartz) who insist its a diamond because its clear.
@@ChrisRalph yup, I also get them. Lucky for me, the clear Crystal's can be Topaz, Zirconium, Emerald or other clear minerals due to the ancient extinct Karoo river bed we stay in. And if they have color so much better, sadly our laws make diamond sales illegal, but all semi precious are legal,
Your Videos give me life! I've recently got back into rock collecting, and in my journey to learn more about the various minerals and chemical compositions etc. I found your page. Very informative, upbeat, and just what I've been needing in my life. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us and please keep up the excitement and enthusiasm. Minerals had a means to identify it s self . Into Jamaica wi the British used , glass material and pieces of dimmons and identity location .as we taken up the dimmon we find means to Mark the area.on my place we have some pretty stone s and I find three set of dimmons google can show you them all, they cut . thanks you .
You see the mineral barrel, God said if I found that it will approve of the creation of how dimmons are formed . also below the stone have the materials , small bit of break off dimmon place below . When I cleaned it ok till ed again to clean.
Glass is technically a liquid. GO to a very old building, such as about 200 years old. Compare the thickness odf the top of the pane and the bottom of the pain. The bottom will be thicker than the top because a glass with be affected by gravity.

Touch it with an acetaline torch. If it burns after a minute, it was a diamond. Thanks Chris, helpful info.
Glad it was helpful!
Great information do you have any more information on how to test for diamonds that are raw
The information is in the video. If you are still unsure, get a diamond tester.
When the gold is absorbed from the cyanide solution with activated charcoal, do I put the charcoal directly into the furnace, or is there another way?
There are other ways and the other ways are required. If you burn the charcoal, you will get ash with traces of gold in the ash.
@@ChrisRalph How long does the solution stay in the tank?
Good Evening sir ralph and GOD BLESS YOU I'm Watching your video about diamond from Antique Philippines
Wonderful
Hi sir can any diamond come mix with quartz or under the quads?
Diamonds can be mixed with quartz in gravels, but diamond is not the same as quartz.
Great information !!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Interesting! Thanks for sharing.
@@ChrisRalph Update: I measured the specific gravity (SG) of the 4 clear stones and determined they are all beryl. One is a clear and very light aquamarine and the others are goshinite.
Hey
You rock , thank you
Thank you and You're welcome!
thank you for this. very helpful. one question i have is regarding how 'most' diamonds have the triangular shapes; ive noticed in some pics theres a few diamonds that seem irregular shaped and dont fit that triangle type description, and they look random shaped/bubbly. whats that about?
Yes, its a more complicated version of the same crystal form.
This content is very informative; thanks for sharing ideas sir.Because i have an egg shape stone and can you help me to determine what kind of these stone?
Sorry, I do not offer a mineral identification service. I get many, many requests.
You're doing God's work! Thank you!!!
Thanks.
Great video
Thanks!

The massive piece of rock also is consistent with the lustre that you have shown us regarding diamonds.
OK.
Thank you Chris Ralph
You are welcome.
You are a nice guy What brand? Diamond tester I should buy and how much around it cost
Look around on Amazon.
The De Beers picked them up already 😂
If you say so.

Okay I just tested a Sapphire bought for in my dragon pendant which I now have replaced for a moissanite at, an official gem stone museum, polisher and jeweler. On a huge pink rock. It didnt scratch 😮
OK, something didn't scratch sapphire.
They have alot if characteristics of what u are describing but dont really know if its quartz or can be considered dimond quality.
It's quartz. Not diamond. Many minerals have natural facets.
What's your take on Mossinate diamond's?
Moissanite is a man made substance, and not a diamond. The same material (silicon carbide ) is used for sandpaper and grinding wheels. It is a diamond substitute, and looks somewhat similar to a diamond.
Hey just out of curiosity will any other gemstone set off a thermal tester I have a diamond selector 2 that goes off with a stone that we have found and then fits the description of a possible diamond so I would like to know if courts or any other Stone would set this off like that
I dont think so but I am not familiar with your testing device.
What about carbonado type black diamond?
What about them are you asking?

Hi all :)😊 I have a respectful question re: diamond/gem testing tools - I popped it in ‘reply’ to Michael’s feedback on diamond testers. Loving the vids, info and comments 🙏
glad you enjoyed the videos.
Can I send it to you sir? I have been collecting it, it's very small. If you look it in magnifying glass it really looks like a diamond
I do not offer a service to ID minerals.
I have mine. Im not sure if its rough diamond or what..
Take it to a Jeweler to get it tested.
Thank you

No problem 👍
Hi, I have a massive piece of rock which has clusters of diamond shapes. Not any shape consistent with quartz but all sides like a pyramid both top and bottom. I have asked local lapidary clubs but they keep sayings it is quartz. I f I look at your diagrams and look at my crystals I see the same diamond shape. the igneous rock I have has tiny diamonds contained within. Your video came up on you tube the other day without me actually looking for it. obviously the universe wanted me to watch it. When I get my claim up and running I will inform you Sir. Thank you for posting this information, love and light to You.
Sounds interesting.
I look forward to all of your Videos. Thank you again!

If the bottom of the barrel, bounce.
Glass is technically a liquid. GO to a very old building, such as about 200 years old. Compare the thickness odf the top of the pane and the bottom of the pain. The bottom will be thicker than the top because a glass with be affected by gravity.
technically.

there are other types of equipment that can identify other gems.

diamonds can burn up in very strong heat. like burning a piece of coal.
How much is your book and where is it being found
Touch it with an acetaline torch. If it burns after a minute, it was a diamond. If I find a genuine diamond crystal, what should I do? Who would buy it from me?
There are people who will buy rough diamonds, but concern yourself first with finding a genuine diamond.
People like that don't DESERVE a true diamond if they can't handle the truth about their stone being quartz.
People don't like having their dreams dashed.

I contend that if the average person cant tell the difference between a diamond and a zirc or fake diamond, and even some jewelers are fooled at arms length. Well, why bother buying the diamond then?
No worries. Propose to a woman and tell her you are buying her a $25 cubic zirconia instead of a diamond. See what happens.
