This is my favourite version of this song to listen to. I think the shittyness of the audio quality really suits the mood. That and the guys yelling "Fuck 'im up Steve!" at the end. And the weird costumes. It all just feels right together
Band is all a bunch of sound geeks who have made good(and I love...liked Rapeman more though I admit), I in no way think Albini overshadows the other members...and for whoever was saying in Utero was Albini, well started out that way but most of it was reworked, to give it that lets have a commercial record feel...which is funny cuz nirvana coulda released an album of static and people woulda bought it at that time.
@Femicide09 ummm, OK... i'm not so sure about that statement. they're pretty well respected, universally (hello, curating All Tomorrow's Parties?). i just really don't think anyone thinks of them as underrated or forgotten at all.... more like major players. just sayin... they're practically iconic in indie rock.
@ldybby Really? I think people are drawn to Shellac because of Big Black. They want to see Steve Albini. TT and Weston are relatively unknown. Although, it is undeniable that Shellac has one of the greatest rythm sections ever next to The Jesus Lizard. They're just overshadowed by Albini.
@Femicide09 fair enough, but the same could be said about any given classic "indie" band (Husker Du?) . plus, i don't think Albini's mouth, alone, would ever allow for mainstream success. he has (as i'm sure you know) been involved with many successful projects, though (In Utero, for starters).
