When you feed your starter you really only need 50g flour, 50g water and 10g of the active starter. The rest can go into your discard. You don't need a large container for starter. When you are ready to make bread, then you'll create a larger starter to use in your bread.
I also have been working with my dentist on my TMJD. The night guard is so helpful! My TMJD is advanced so I need to do a palettal expander, invisalign, and therapy. Thanks for sharing your update! I never hear from people who also have this condition and its great to hear about other's experiences
Thank you for another wonderful and thoughtful video, I am so happy to hear your pregnancy is going well so far😊and by the way, those pancakes looked delicious🥰🥞🥰
Yum. those pancakes look delish. I freeze my leftovers so I can just grab and heat when I get a craving. Or I put nut butter on left overs for an afternoon snack with apple slices on top.
☺️ Congratulations on the bundle of Joy! I’m excited to follow this journey with you’ll. - I’m looking forward to the home binder as well. - Did you’ll ever get a chance to move the desk 🙃 ?
Great to see your updates Jules. Curious if you have tried acupuncture for your TMJD? I had a lot of neck and jaw pain and my acupuncturist was able to help alleviate my pain and also help with my stress management has been huge. Sending you all lots of love!
Hey Jules, I recently started making my own matcha lattes (thanks to you :)) but I have a problem! My matchas always taste sooo watery! and then there was that one time it tasted sooo sour/bitter(?). What can I do? I put some coconut milk, and honey as well. Still does not taste as good as the little store bought mixes(which I dont wanna keep using). I also don't have a kettle with temperature control, so I just boil water and wait a bit for it to cool down. Maybe it's still too hot? I honestly don't know. I need some advice, thank you!
Where is your starter jar from? I want to try making sourdough now that I'm in my own apartment finally!! Also someone else I follow on RUclips that's been making sourdough for a while says that she slices the bread right after baking and puts it straight in the freezer to keep it fresh! Then you just pop it in the toaster
Does your pt do dry needling? That has been a lifesaver for my TMJD. The stretching and exercises did very little but dry needling relaxes everything and I feel normal for 4-6 months.
Ok we need to have a chat about that cashew milk! How does it get thick and creamy from 1 TBSP to 1 cup of water? I make my own in a good blender, but need about 1 cup of cashews or almonds to 3 cups of water maximum to get a good taste, otherwise it gets too watery. Is it the machine you have that has some super powers? Also, is it cheaper to make yourself with the vanilla? I was just looking into the two amylase types to make my own for the same consistency as store bought - which would be cheaper than buying, but adding the vanilla actually makes homemade more costly than buying it from the store because that stuff is pricey! Would love some info and tips! :) Vanilla cashew matcha is life!! P.S. EMDR has helped me LOADS and I am so proud of you for committing to it. It's so hard and intense, sending you love for that!! Also, TMJ: I have done so much and a nightguard has been key. I moved on from chiropractic (because only one of four I have seen was able to link it to my back and manage it, but he was far from me) to an osteopath. That genuinely helps keep it in check. Other than that, learning to keep stress down and change old limiting beliefs which cause high stress even if we don't notice it (EMDR linked and a lot of inner work and brain retraining). You got this! Sorry this message is so long lol I feel called to share this all with you.
Why keep the mother so large? If you only feed with the amount needed it will not be that much discard, When I bake on a regular basis - I try to never make more sourdoug than needed - leaving only maybe half a teaspoon left after I have set my dough to feed again - that keeps the discard levels down and I can feed with a high percentage - making the mother strong and healty. Sometimes I do get discard though and we also make pancakes of it (or it is actually really good to fry as small flat breads themselfes - using only the discard in a pan with oil. Sprinkle with herbs of choice and salt to taste. Fast and delicious.
I’m new to this hehe and it was how I was first taught. But experimenting with new approaches! There are sooooo many different ways out there it’s a bit overwhelming
@@julesacree Yes I totally understand this. I think the way sourdough is tought is way to complicated and often makes a lot more dough than needed though. Keeping it simple works allmost every time. But you will find a way after a bit of experimenting. :) I bake little now and mostly keep the mother in the fridge - but try to only store as little as possible (maybe a cup or so? 1-2 dl ). Also then when I am bakin I try to feed with much more than 1:1:1 or 1:2:2 - often 1:5:5 or something like that. Have worked best for me.
Hi Jules, I just wanted to report that I have had a really bad experience with Nutr. I have attempted to reach out to them many times via email, support, and their website chat, but no response. There is no customer service phone number posted anywhere on their website. I am starting to feel like they took my money and ran, and are making zero attempts to communicate with customers. Anyone else have this experience? I trust your recommendations and have always loved the items you support and endorse, but Nutr really rubbed me the wrong way. Ugh, I hate feeling scammed. :(
Aw sorry that’s happening to you! Have you tried DMing them? I’ve never been in touch with them and I’ve had only a good experience with their product so far so I’m not sure but hope they get back to you soon!
Have you considered Botox for your tmj issue? I work at a dental office and based on patient feedback it works very well. It’ll relax your jaw muscles and reduce clenching (if clenching is an issue for you). I’m not sure about Botox in pregnancy though on a side note, I’ve been loving your channel!! 🩷
love that you are enjoying your pregnancy and feeling more confidence and compassion, so beautiful!
There’s something about the cirspiness of your audio that is so satisfying and I love sm

Nothing is more millennial than morning chats about whether LOL or JBOL will live on forever while making starter for sourdough pancakes 🥞 😄
Hahah pretty much 😆😆😆

living for your lil cozy vlog era!!!!

I was thinking more on it and I think the current set up is the most optimal!!
So excited to see the next video about your productivity apps!
You can get local milled flour at Abby Jane bake shop and mill in Drip and it’s great for using to make sourdough bread and locally milled.

Loved this vlog! I was wondering where your glass matcha mug is from, I've been admiring it!
EMDR is so powerful. It was very helpful to me too, but I agree it left me WIPED out. Worth it, of course. Good job going for almost a year now!
Hey love your videos, do you have link for the tripod you used with camera? Thanks in advance.
I also did EMDR for a while and you might find that your TMJ goes away after you process certain memories!

The only thing that’s ever helped my TMJD is ultrasound therapy at my PT office and night guards 😢 - wish there was a cure

I might consider it after pregnancy - but right now it’s feeling more manageable!
