- Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua (Urdu: لب پہ آتی ہی دعا بن کے تمنا میری) is one of the most famous poems of the Urdu language. Composed by the famous poet of the Urdu language, Allama Muhammad Iqbal (who was also the visionary behind the Pakistan Movement), the poem is a (child's) prayer to God seeking benevolent qualities of character and a life lived serving humanity. Due to its uplifting humanitarian and deeper spiritual message the poem as a "Dua", is a staple fare at most primary morning school assemblies in Pakistan as well as many regions of India. The most famously heard on the media, is the one that was sung by the Indian singer, Siza Roy.
Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua Ban Kay Tamana Meri,
Zindagi Sham'a Key Surat Ho Khudaya Meri.
To my lips comes a supplication borne out of (the) desire (of my heart),
(That) may my life be like that of a lighted candle, O Lord.
Dur Dunya Ka Maray Dam Say Andheera Ho Jaye,
Har Jagah Meray Chamaknay Say Ujala Ho Jaye.
May the world's darkness disappear through the life I live,
(Such that) every place lights up with the sparkling light I give.
Ho Maray Dam Say Younhi Meray Watan Key Zeenat,
Jis Tarah Phool Say Hoti Hai Chaman Ki Zeenat.
May my homeland, through my (devoted) work, attain (its) elegance,
As the garden, through (its) flowers, attains its magnificence.
Zindgi Hoo Maray Parwanay Key Surat Ya Rab,
Ilm Ki sham'a Say Ho Mujko Muhabat Ya Rub.
May my life be like that of the (devoted) moth, O Lord,
(Such that) I love the (enlightening) light of knowledge, O Lord.
Ho Mera Kaam Ghareeboon Key Himayat Karna,
Dard Mandoon Say Za'ieefoon Say Muhabbat Karna.
May my work be to take the side of the unfortunate and the poor,
Loving the pained, supporting the feeble.
Maray Allah! Burai Say Bachana Mujhko,
Naik Jo Rah Hoo Us Raah Pay Chalana Mujh Ko.
O my Allah! O my Allah! Protect me from every evil,
That which is The path of righteousness, guide me (only) on that path..

زندگی شمع کی صورت ہو خدایا میری
دور دنیا کا مرے دم سے اندھیرا ہو جاے
ہر جگہ میرے چمکنے سے اجالاہو جاے
ہو مرے دم سے یونہی میرے وطن کی زینت
جس ترح پھول سے ہوتی ہی چمن کی زینت
زندگی ہو مرے پروانے کی صورت یا رب
علم کی شمع سے ہو مجکو محبت یا رب
ہو مرا کام غریبوں کی حمایت کرنا
درد مندوں سے ضعیفوں سے محبت کرنا
مرے اللہ برائی سے بچانا مجھ کو
نیک جو راہ ہو اس رہ پہ چلانا مجھ کو

Madiha Mumtaz .. you cannot see her.. this is more than 100 year old naat.. written in 1902 and sung by Siza Roy. in fact I love this naat and after searching and researching I found that this is very old song..
unfortunately I dint find a single photo..

Madiha Mumtaz are you sure? It was written in 1902 yes but sung quite later. Size Roy is the singer and I think she's old now.
