If you are in a high rent area, do you get Veterans Housing Assistance? When I was in, if you didn't get your A School, you could strike. If someone can strike, and is academically astute, I would suggest it.
Oh hell no it wasn't a normal job, they worked us to death man, we had port and starboard. They made us work so damn much especially when their were search and rescue cases. I was up two days. In 2003 boot camp was insane I had these two guys one they called little satan. I'll never forget those guys Laroach and po emmrick.

I love all branches, but I know about boot camps because I have friends that went in all different branches and met a lot of good friends in the military worked with Marines Navy and Air force. The only branch that I haven't worked with is the space force. Which when I was in there was no space force.
Coast Guard Kife Style and Army Life style.Great food against food out of a pouch. Small duty stations or huge ones. Sun burns fast boats and beach babes, Or, Fire Fights, wounds and hookers, serving at vacation hot spots, or Fort Polk and a cave. Only 8 week Basic that has No field F T X in the mud and ice, and no 72 hour straight torture event with no sleep, Wow painting or weekly 15 mile ruck march. and daily 5/6 mile company run.Sleeping in a bed not in the dirt.Saving lives or taking lives. Key West or Fire base Charlie.

I was lucky that I was always at a station. Got to go home every night but had a lot of tragedies and now I am a disabled vet.
