- Following Hongik University and Yeonnam-dong, there is a neighborhood that has emerged from a few years ago. It is Mangwon-dong. Small stores such as fruit shops, restaurants, and prop shops began to form among the alleys lined with old houses with red bricks, and as the Mangwon Market was remodeled, it has become a popular alley in Seoul for the younger generation. Mangwon-dong Alleyway, which has become a "hip" place these days, has a new name "Mangridan-gil," comparing it to Gyeongridan-gil in Itaewon.
Mangwon Market is by far the most famous place in Mangwon-dong, but there are many shops with people's affection and love between Mangwon-dong alleys, so-called "insiders" have become holy places.
The biggest attraction of Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, is not only Mangwon Market but also the fact that it is full of small shops filled with the owner's affection throughout the alley. These days when bright flowers call spring, I recommend Mangwon-dong alleyway if you want to get out of your boring daily life. If you enjoy delicious food and desserts in Mangwon-dong alley and have finished looking at unique prop shops, let's head to Mangwon Hangang Park nearby before sunset. This is because you can finish your trip to Mangwon-dong alleyway more beautifully while looking at the beautiful Han River colored red by the sunset.
