As a wolves fan, Conley should be in the solid starter tier. Plays his role perfectly, good defense, good 3pt efficiency, great playmaker. Along with his intangibles like leadership and calmness, every wolves fan would trade Dlo for him ten times over
In the hawks' last ten games, Trae has averaged 30 and 11 on 44/39/83 shooting splits the disrespect is next level

Agreed. Trae is underrated
Of course Trae had that rough first few games but he has been for the most part awesome for the hawks. If it wasn’t for Trae, the hawks would be down in the dumps. Trae is actually scrappy, taking more charges, getting more steals. I don’t see how he ain’t an all star.
LaMelo was really bad the first 4 games he played, so his overall numbers are gonna be skewed for the average person who isn't watching him play. But Lamelo was averaging 32 9 and 7 on almost 50 40 90 the prior 9 games before he got injured against the Magic. I can confidently say LaMelo has been better than Brunson, Maxey, and Dame this season. He's just hurt right now, LaMelo is also 2nd in the league in 4th quarter scoring and has had the 2nd most points in a 4th quarter this season. Not only is he averaging those insane numbers over the 9 games but he has a case for being the clutch player of the year. If the Hornets weren't so unlucky with injuries they would be a play in/borderline play off team imo (largely because of LaMelo)
Before, I was goin nuts over CP being as high as he was but u dropped him so cant be too mad, Hali being MVP is a little high for me but totally understandable.
LaMelo is my only gripe. Good list

The problem with Melo is that he’s always injured so you can’t really get to appreciate the player he is or should be up to this point.
@@julucaesar168 Sadly that is true, I think he is gonna pull his health together though, these string of injuries started from accidents last year like PJ falling on his ankle, that influenced everything now. I believe in him to bounce back from it.

I feel like Hali over fox is just a casual take, fox is proven in the playoffs and we have way more talented passers on the kings than pacers, hence fox’s lower assist rate. If I want the ball in someone’s hands to win the spark a run or win a game, fox without a question in my oppinion 💯

I agree we saw how the pacers struggled in the in season tourney with Hali being trapped and denied the ball, the pacers clearly depend on Hali therefore his numbers are very high. Nothing against Hali he’s cooking but if he had a secondary playmaker his numbers would probably drop a bit
That’s how I felt about the mavs getting rid of dindwiddie, doncic is an mvp caliber player but I’ve felt dindwiddie as a taller playmaker to take pressure off was a better fit than kyrie.
fox is better 2 way and sabonis is the facilitator of the offense so ofc haliburton will have more asts but they're both MVP candidate

I would have loved to see where you'd rank Immanuel Quickley on this list. IMO, he'd be a solid starter. Only reason he's not, is cuz he's backing up Brunson. Great vid. Solid list.
Bro I'm with you on most of this list but Maxey has been better than Lillard across the board so far, better defense, higher efficiency, higher ppg, if Dame is all-NBA then Tyrese deserves it too just saying
I may be biased as i get to watch Tyrese every time out but seeing the leaps and bounds he's made in his game this year is kinda crazy

Damn I think Pritchard is a very good backup point guard, I’d say one of the better backups in the league. He’s definitely more than serviceable.
Conley should be higher. Advanced stats actually have him as allstar level
The problem with Killian Hayes is that he’s a point guard and Monty makes him play shooting guard and Cade Cunningham is a shooting guard and Monty lets him play point guard.

Honestly very good on all counts. I do think AB or Suggs for Orlando should have been on the board over Markelle since as you said he only played a few games. I also personally would have moved Fox up to MVP or moved Hali & Curry down and leave only Luka and Shai in MVP tier.
Maxey has been a all nba player averaging 27 and 7 on good efficiency he’s been in the mvp race tho closer to that 9-12 range he’s still in it with dame and fox seems a lil disrespectful to not put him with them
Jrue holiday may not be averaging as many points thia year but take in mind the switch from 3rd to 4th/5th option. Still elite defense but the swing factor for me is how hes averaging 7 rebounds per game witch is absolutely insane for a point guard whos not 6'8 or named russel westbrook
Finally a good ranking for Murray. He is the the 14th best pg in the NBA.

Is your argument for considering Mike Conley not being a solid starter because you don't see him being a solid starter on teams outside of the Timberwolves because of his fit with the Timberwolves size and depth? They upgraded at the point guard spot from D'Angelo Russell because of Conley's impact, defense, leadership, intangibles, everything. Any team D'Lo is on isn't going to find success outside of raw counting stats. It's easy to get a bucket getter, but you can't acquire players like Conley without expecting to win because they do the right thing.
i think you need a tier between solid starter and starter like 3rd option or smth

Shoulda done this after the season finishes or towards after the all star game, It’s only the start of the season they need to play more (NBA level) to get back in their groove, They only humans they not robots, real hoopers know.
Both Doncic and Haliburton are excellent but I don't see either Dallas or Indiana making the NBA Finals any time soon. However, Doncic may have a better shot at top scorer.

It’s not that you’re harsh on Sochan. As a PG this season he belongs in F tier, but that doesn’t reflect his actual basketball abilities imo. He’s closer to a C tier overall player, if he was playing his normal position. He’s a solid secondary playmaker, has been a solid 3pt shooter, is a good defender and rebounder, but he should be playing the 4.
I do think harden is undervalued by people today cause of his ability to destroy chemistry in a team, imo he is borderline all star with both J Murray and garland

As a Spurs fan, I suppose Sochan ranking is appropriate since you’re ranking them purely as a pg. He’s not a bad player but consider him just as a pg, yeah he’s bad. It’s all good though, we’ll get out pg in this next draft. In the meantime Sochan is getting more comfortable handling the ball

@@-RJ2007 Usually the Pacers start out really hot but as the season goes they slow down and don’t make the playoffs . Also Tyrese Halliburton is Avery streaky player. For example one month he will be averaging about 32 points and 12 assists but the next month he will be averaging 21 points and 9 assists and the makes his season average only about 23 and 10 assists. His team has never been a play in team when Tyrese Halliburton has been on the team.
Idc what the tiers are named, there is no world where Garland and Murray should be in the same tier as Anthony and Brogdon.
kyrie is still considered a pg btw and similar efficiency as luka on 22 less touches per game and less seconds per touch. Luka & SGA... although efficient hold the ball more than any other player on this list. Idk how you can have Hali and not Fox in MVP. But I'm taking Fox and Curry to build a team around. Luka and SGA style of basketball will not win a championship. They're fun to watch though.

Trae improving from previous years is good. He’s still not a good defender on average though. Brunson is more efficient, takes better shots, and the Knicks have been better. Trae is a better facilitator for sure, but he’s had some brutal shooting games this year

I think you’re misunderstanding my criteria for this video. It’s not about future or the players age. It’s how they’ve played in the 2023-24 season compared to the other point guards on the list. He still has potential but he has not been good this year relative to the other point guards mentioned.
