    Thanks for the video but my best trick is to eliminate the air pocket before you screw the gun together.
    1. Take off the plasbottom cap.
    2. Take off the aluminum pop top.
    3. With the aluminum pop top, scoop out some grease from the opposite end and smear it flush or a little higher on the end where the pop top was.
    4. Now put the grease tube into the body and give the body several turns and release the T handle.
    5. It will pump grease instantly or much quicker depending on how well you did the procedure.
    I've done hundreds of tubes this way.

    Thank you, I know this is probably super basic for many men but some of us never used these. Also the zerk attachment made by this company is awesome, it was more expensive then my actual grease gun but makes the task so much easier.

    Just got my pistol grip LockNLube gun this afternoon and followed the video, and lubed up a piece of equipment. I followed the video and the priming was easy. Two other guns would not seal to the zerk fitting and this system worked perfectly! This is the first grease gun I have ever used and not got a grease all over my hands. Really a good product!

    If you have an old grease gun - one that was designed for filling from one of the old round squat tubs - the piston may be too large to fit up inside the plastic tube, because it was meant to be a tight fit on the inside of the metal tube. In that case, you can still fill the gun from a cartridge, but you have to push the grease out of the plastic tube into the body of the grease gun: I made up a wooden 'piston' and pull the plastic tube up around it. Much less messy than the old way.

    I wish I would have watched this video before just ruined my brand new LockNLube pistol grip gun. Unscrewed and loaded from the T-handle end, oops! Also loaded the cartridge backwards. I thought I was following the instructions correctly but nope. Rookie mistakes, all my fault. Replacement lever grip model is on its way now. Maybe I will hang the pistol grip on my wall of shame as a $70 reminder to slow down in the future :)

    I've got 2 different greases I want to use with one grease gun. Can I remove one cartridge even though it's half full or more and insert the 2nd one?
    Thoughts?
    I hate to buy a second grease gun being as I don't use them very much.
    Thanks and a very good video

    • @LockNLube
      @LockNLube 3 года назад +2

      Yes, just pull the plunger and lock it out before loosening the barrel. Removing the old tube may be a little messy, but you can take it out and put the new tube in. Just pump the grease gun until you see the new grease coming through and you'll be good. If this is for a specialty or other application where you are worried about cross-contamination then you will need to have different grease guns for each type of grease.

    I just tried to grease the air on the universal joints on the front axle of my Ford F250 but the grease all seemed to come out around the air instead of going into the u-joint. Any tips on getting a good fit on the air? Oh, the loading and priming went perfectly according to your video, so thanks.

    • @LockNLube
      @LockNLube Год назад

      is it a standard Zerk fitting? check the condition of it and try to get a nice straight angle when attached. Make sure the thumb lever is all the way up and the jaws are fully locked on.

  • @davidcotto8955

    what i dont understand is how are you able to stab that rod all the way in? Isnt the tube blocking it from going in further? This is some magician stuff.

    • @LockNLube
      @LockNLube 2 года назад

      The tube of grease is open at both ends so the rod just glides up through the center of the grease.

    • @LockNLube
      @LockNLube 4 года назад

      You can try twisting the handle on the bottom. It could be locked to the follower plate. Twisting the handle would unlock the rod and allow it to go back into the grease gun.

    • @LockNLube
      @LockNLube 2 года назад

      Jay, please give us a call at 603-795-2298. We stand behind out products 100% and expect that you should be able to put at least 100 tubes of grease through our coupler before the seal shows signs of wear.
      One thing that can make it wear more quickly is if you are disconnecting from clogged Zerks with lots of back pressure in the system. The force of that grease pushing through the seal when disconnected under pressure can accelerate wear.

    I don't understand why almost everyone pushes the plunger back in?
    If you leave it out it's easy to see how much grease is left inside.
    I worked all my live like this and never had problems. I see so many people having problems with pistols not working when the plunger is pushed inside to 🤷.
    I wanted to teach some colleagues at work because almost everyone have problems to refill the gun, it doesn't work after they refill.
    But they all say they saw to do different than i do.
    I see you had to cut your video to because it took to long.
    So why most push it back in??

    • @LockNLube

      It just seems to be most common as it minimizes the size and length of the tool.
