Somehow a Heinlein book PHOTOBOMBED this collection in a big way. My bad

The Foundation, Robot and Empire novels actually all take place in the same universe. So you could read them all in chronological order by reading all of the Robot novels, then the 3 Empire novels, followed by the two Foundation prequels (Forward the Foundation is actually a second prequel), the Foundation Trilogy and then the two sequels. If you wanted to read them chronologically. I read the Foundation books by publication order, then read all the Robots novels, and will be reading the Empire novels later this year. Thanks for the video! I know need to find all those paperbacks with the Michael Whalen paintings!

Correct, Asimov actually put a reading order of all of these books, in his beginning notes to Forward the Foundation.

Had no clue Asimov was ghost writing for Heinlein--haha! Love that you post these warts and all.

Knowing the attention you give to book cover art along with my addiction to anything Isaac Asimov, I knew this would be a great video. You did not dissapoint

My favorite Asimov book is The Robots of Dawn. Such an amazing Science Fiction Mystery.
Next month I'll be reading Foundation and Earth to finish Asimov's Future History series. I've never read it before, looking forward to it.

Great collection Brian! I read Foundation last year and loved it! I’ll definitely be continuing the series eventually, and also the robot books. What did you think of the show?

At one time I had over 300 of Asimov‘s published, works from kids books to collections of short stories, to almost all of his fiction novels, and the majority of his nonfiction. About five years ago, I decided to downsize my life in a big way so some folks on eBay were the benefactors of most of my collection. as of all is my favorite author of science-fiction and Carl Sagan, my favorite author of nonfiction. I still look forward to one night having a dream where I’m able to eat dinner and discuss things with those two gentlemen, who, though no longer with us Among the living, or nonetheless, immortal to me. I strongly suspect the same as true for many others who have read their work.

Pebble in The Sky is the book that got me into Science Fiction. It's a great book in my opinion. I didn't know it was part of a triology. I have to find the others now.

There are these blue faux leather editions put out by Doubleday for the whole dozen or so, with these great big illustrations on the cover that I really want. They seem to be hard to find or pricey though.

Forward the foundation is a prequel too set between prelude and foundation

One mistake is heard, 30 seconds in "I don't have any of his short story collections" yet you have three collections of robot shorts. I would be curious to see how you'd rank the books against each other after reading ALL of them. Another error is that 'Forward the Foundation' is also a "prequel" to the original trilogy set between 'Prelude to Foundation' and 'Foundation'. 'Foundation & Earth' is the final book in the series. Also never mention that all these books are set in the same universe; Foundation, Empire, and Robot novels all tie together in a very cool & elaborate way.

I have the same foundation barnes edition. It’s supposedly missing a page or 2 of the story

I liked his essay: The World Ceres. He argued that Ceres should be classified as a planet again. Sound familiar?
