Famoso is my home track. learned how to build engines from a 400 small block i got from the swap meet off an old hot rodder for $200 when i was like 12. The old man who got me into racing and showed me everything i know, was a legend. He knew EVERYONE and everything. Could fix anything, build anything, and was one hell of a father and friend. I choke up every time i get into staging at famoso, ive raced all over the country and nothing gets my blood pumping like being at home. its got a lot of history for me and my family. as much as i love my modern 7 second street cars theres nothing cooler than altered cars on alochol.
Went to the Altered Nationals at Tucson Dragway as a kid many times with my dad (70's-80's) - it was awesome - MOB vs Nanook!! so many great cars... was a great time to be alive
Fuel Altered cars are one of the baddest if not the baddest on the planet, if you've never been in person live (DO IT) that's the only way to experience it take it from a former crew member for car "CHEP THRILL'S"👍👍💯
Those were the days my friend! Irwindale Raceway back in the 70's was where you could find me and my friends almost every week! Good times. AA fueled altereds were the best!
The SHEEPHERDER is an Arizona altered. The late JOHN ALEMAN actually owned a bunch of sheep. I remember it from the 1970's in WILLIAMS, AZ. when it had a Ford SOHC and Henry Harrison was driving it
My first time to the drags was at lions ,my neighbor owned Pure Heaven 2that was 1967,just found out the owners of Pure Heaven 3 live in the same town that I live in ,went to their house had a long visit

Well I remember the Nanook car racing in Hawaii. It was driven by Rick Hough.
These odd looking dragsters can really fly down the drag strip. 🏁🏁🏁🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Prior to attending a reunion, take an English punctuation class!
Thanks, I can almost smell the nitro.
Hammer down 👇🏼
Those are not altereds like the ones back in the day! Wheelbases are too long!
I grew up with the fuel alterds,my neighbor was cowne
Its awesome but my favorites are the period correct cars, something about the other ones that turn me off.
Shirleen ... There going a 1/4 mile 😂
Did The Mob get best appearing? It should have.
Hope all those folks have hearing protection. Like earplugs plus headphones
