I'm always impressed how you balance the total cost and effort for the customer, and not just CYA with the repair, which often means not going over the top replacing expensive parts or doing a full service. But equally, replacing something cheap like brushes, bearings or o-rings that are working but on the way out, to save a second visit. For busy trades, time is money, so I think this is a great call.
I love how this guy can just quickly take everything apart and toss the bolts around and not lose a single one. But I take 4 bolts out and I lose 3 even when I’m trying to be careful and keep track of everything. Amazing. Hahahaha

Had a Bosch hammer drill. It was better at failing than drilling. Every time you use it a wire inside broke. Cord broke Switch wires broke Wires to the motor broke. Gave it the ocean float test. Failed Bought a Dewalt. Never been happier.
So happy, bought a used atomic but the chuck wasnt too good and it wouldnt screw off with a allen key, so i took a grinder to it just like you do and it worked awesome!! Replaced it with one of thoes high quality chucks. Edit= rohm chuck

No the dust dose not concern me. I'd never worry about asbestos, very rarely would anyone be working with it. Plus even if a tool was covered in it, I wouldn't worry. Asbestos is normaly only harmful when you are breathing it regularly. It won't kill you if you simply get exposed to it once. It's nasty stuff of course and always stay away from it. But anyone working with it of removing it, knows not to cut or smash it up. So there probably won't be asbestos dust inside tools.
The first fix was awsome(oh its maybe working better if you put in all the parts you took out), this remembers mysef if i fix an old tool at my Company. Also ich have a question about hilti angelgrinder ( AG125-19SE & AG230-20D) bouth turn after some Minuten of grinding into a vibrating waterheater at the gearhead. May this fail accure because they stik a bushing in the aluminiu. Housing insted of a needle bearing?
Dean, I know the model #s will differ between continents/countries. Your GSH 11E is probably something different here in Canada or North America in general. Does that # ending in "741" change as well or is it a universal code for Bosch?
What insane type of battery is this? Such big packs are supposed to have either a switch or a protective BMS inside that shuts down when stuff gets shorted externally. A bare pack without any protections and just a simple cable going out with single insulation is certainly not CE or UKCA compliant.

no the piston moves the hammer bolt, which bits a striker inside the chuck. which then hits the chisel itself

Is the piston intentionally made out of plastic as an intended breaking point to save the machine in a catastrophic failure or just cost savings?

no the badge is a plastic insert. not uncommon for them to fall out or a service agent to forget to reinstall it

the syringe can be got from any coop, its a dosing syringe for animals. the grease i use is bosch hammer grease or hilti grease
insufflate is the important part of the job. We call it magical insufflate 😅😅
