For many years ABC and then NBC would run the Olympic Highlight reel at the very end of the closing ceremonies. Here is the one from Lillehammer from 1994.
I was at the closing and ran into Greg Gumbel afterwards and he said he'd never been so cold in his life - neither had I. No heaters in the broadcast booth that night.
wiedep Now it's Comcast's money. Yes, that means you are actually spending hundreds of dollars to help the largest cable company in America subsidize NBC's God-awful coverage every single month until 2032. That is why people now watch live events through illegal streaming & VPNs, thank goodness for the BBC. And did you notice that just only one year after CBS brought home the record ratings bacon in Lillehammer, the IOC double-crossed them when they negotiated exclusively with NBC to strip them of the Winter Olympic rights?

Qué emoción ya van a llegar los juegos olímpicos !!! Estoy ansioso por ver qué es lo que trae
The first ever winter olympics that wasn’t held the same year with the summer olympics
Back when CBS was the Winter Olympic network of the 90's. I only wish the IOC gave them one more shot with Salt Lake though.
By 2000 NBC's connections with the IOC and GE's money blew CBS out of the picture.
