Little Killer Whales... and our kids were swimming with them completely fearless in 2000m of DEEP BLUE OCEAN... so proud!!! Would your kids do this????? What's next? Who knows... Our Patreon is now live!! patreon.com/TheIslandLifeofUs .. Every contribution, no matter how small, fuels our creative journey and brings us closer to sharing more of the magic we experience every day. We will of course continue to share our videos here on RUclips as usual 🥰 big love guys, Katie & Jase ✌🏼
Those dolphins and whales are just gorgeous. Such a special moment for you all to swim with the majestic creatures. I love waking up to you guys and having my first coffee of the day watching your vlog. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!! They really are growing up fast and love our ocean friends 🐳🐬🐟it never gets old to us and making these videos is just the icing on the cake 🫶🏼☀️🤿
It was so interesting and beautiful at the same time to see and feel the video captures from Arlo, what a loving energy it had to it. Amazing how you are aware of the effects all these experiences have on and for your children. How they learn through these amazing and sometimes challenging experiences. So, so good ❤🎉🌟☮️
Absolutely agree... it is useful to give time to reflecting on how such experiences impact us and the kids... not all natural encounters are as significant in terms of the rare animals but for sure always some takeaway from what we see and do. Even today we had to decide, encourage the kids to come out when they didn't jump at it, or let them stay back and possibly miss out on something!! They ended up choosing to come... it was uncomfortable at times sure but a good day in the end!!
I so love your videos and all the thoughts and sights you share. Because of the wonderful life you’ve provided for your kids I hope they will grow up to be the generation that saves the planet - and saves us from ourselves. And indeed jump in with the orcas - those big dolphins get such a bad rap - but what magnificent creatures. 😊 Every time I watch your videos I tell my husband we have to get back there - it’s been 13 years! I’m dying to see it again and all that you’ve done. Blessings to you and your family and happy 2025.
Ohh thank you so much 😊 I think it’s the alternative way of life and so focused on our natural environment that keeps our kids level in this life. They already do so much to help preserve it and that’s so amazing to me. They really blew us away… most adults wouldn’t do what they did!!! Wild!!! I do hope you make it back some day ❤❤❤
I’m speechless. Absolutely speechless 😍 I felt so immersed in this, I could’ve watched for an hour! Stunning footage guys. And the kids were rockstars! I know grown adults that wouldnt get in at 2000m deep! I wish we could all get together ☺️ our two would be all over it! And I totally feel the same about screen time. We do very very little for the same reasons. And I do the same for myself too 😂 with being really intentional with my phone! PS. Cannot wait for the nautilus!!!!
Ohh can you imagine our kids all together!!! What a wild adventure that would be 🤩 this was truly insane and felt like it was the moments we have been preparing for haha of that makes sense. So stoked to see this many dolphins underwater which is quite rare for us here. Screen time is currently not helping us so much so we’re working on that - even though it was only ever so minimal. But with school starting back I think they have digital interactions there and the rest of our precious time needs to be out there living it!!!
I’ve loosely followed you guys for a while but really loved that episode to get to know you guys that little bit. Now I’m hooked. Looking forward to catching up on the rest of your episodes and all the next ones. Can’t wait to get there one day with my own family with our own water babies
Awesome! There’s nothing quite like living free by the sea, you’re gonna love it. ⚓️ and your boat looks to be a HUGE project so it will be so sweet once you're out there living on the big blue!
Thanks Brett!! It was such an incredible experience and the kids really were so amazing out there. Can’t wait for orcas 🤩🤩🤩 it’ll happen this year I reckon!!! Arlo did amazing on the camera!
I applaud you both for developing a real world and experiential “curriculum”. Uepi and its surrounding ocean will supply all the resources your kids need.
Absolutely agree.. the best lessons in life are those we don't even realise are lessons at the time!! Arlo and Filly are showing such an incredible interest in wildlife at the moment which has just been so wonderful... Having Mollie home now and getting ready for the new school year with a big focus on outdoor adventure sets us up for a great year!
Great job as always 🎉. Such a great episode. Amazing experience for you guys but stupendous for Arlo and Filly to experience, absorb and enjoy it and so brave at their young age 👏👏👏 ❤
Thanks Belinda... we were totally blown away by the kids (as you can tell by this video haha) and just feel so lucky to have the life where these things happen on a random day of the week!!!
Great video! Love the melon headed whales! While I was in Kona, Hawaii I encountered pilot whales for the first time along with 3 oceanic white tip sharks! That was my first time diving in the really deep ocean. Up until then I'd always been diving near a reef or in a cenote. It was great looking down into the blue abyss knowing that absolutely anything could come up out of vast depths at any moment. It's exciting. The experience turned me on to all kinds of lesser known whales, like toothed whales, false killer whales, and what not. Good luck on the books before bed resolution. I love my books, but I can't quite kick my addiction to nature documentaries. Usually it's books after dinner on the weekends. I couldn't imagine my parents allowing me to do the things you're doing with your kids, unfortunately. The kids are lucky to be encouraged to have these kinds of adventures in an environment that enables it. They think I'm some kind of wreckless thrill seeker. It couldn't be more the opposite. They don't get it. Such is the mentality of the unadventurous and the risk averse.
Thanks for sharing your awesome experience! I’d love to swim with pilot whales… we see them here but never under water so far.. It’s so exciting to explore the deep ocean! 🤿 and how incredibly thrilling when you consider what might appear out of the blue!! I can’t imagine living any other way with our kids… they are for sure the adventurous type already 🤩
Island life of us Katie you should invite Bucket List Family to your resort I believe the family will definitely enjoy awesome environments the island provides I do hope the Bucket List will take the offer.... awesome family like yours.
We adore the Gee fam and all that they do!!! If @TheBucketListFamily ever come this way, we'd LOVE to host them and share this insane part of the world with them ❤️💙💚
