Mukhallat Al Shams smells to me more like a sugary hay, somewhat like Sharbat-e-azam, with agar oud in the background.
I don't find it as comforting or natural smelling as Dahn Al Oud Al Shams from Ajmal.
Dahn Al Oud Al Shams is much deeper, smoother, smokier, unsweet, natural smelling and contemplative. But the downside to Dahn Al Oud Al Shams is that most of us Indians are turned off by the rotten wood smell (more like fermented betel nut to people from Assam). So, as much as I like it, I have given up wearing it to work.
On the other hand, Alif Lail o lail seems to be much more acceptable to Indian noses although it is much less intoxicating than Dahn Al Oud Al Shams.
Also I'd like to say that oils (and perfumes in general) transform faster when applied to skin than on clothes. The reason they tell you to spray your clothes the night before is so that you can experience the woody drydown the next day without having to deal with the top notes that one may not like. If you apply on skin, you can reach the same drydown in a shorter time but will also have to experience those top notes of oud (which I actually find intoxicating).
@Reja : 1001 nights oil is my signature perfume. I wanna choose an EDP from Ajmal which is best for Hindi Oudh. I've read a lot about Dahn Al Oudh Shams and Mukhallath shams as well. Sadly it's not available in stores here to test so I'll need to blind buy from UAE through friends. Suggest me which one I should go with?

I agree with u.once u get into oud world u r not getting out of it n u wont enjoy other frags...i personally know several guys who do not wear anything but oud based frags n these guys were once fans of western perfumery....Nice review...would love to try this one out....

Nikh.illll I finally got my Shams....had to pay extra $20 to DHL for taxes when he dropped it off at door..grr. It was raining out at 130pm here in Toronto didnt except thr delivery..coincidentally had my white kurta ...wife opens door loudly says dhl at the door ..20 dollars u gotta pay ( taxes) in distress lol ..anyway I pay..take the package open up take a spray and ooomphh....I love it...just what I was looking for. I even received samples of these yesterday... Jubilation XXV,Sahraa Oud,Kemi Hayat, Montale dark oud, Rania J Oud assam, Roja dove musk oud...all are great ( some not worth the price tag at all when compared to this) . truly love the Shams best 10 for price 10 for quality 10 for bottle 10 for delivery of scent . I finally can say middle eastern perfumery is legendary quality stuff. Thats all ill be getting now lol ..it defines exactly what my soul loves... Thanks to your reviews and tips glad to have this during Ramadan. Not sure if you reached at bottom of this msg but peace and love brother.
Received my all shams yesterday and wore two sprays on my neck.
This morning I sprayed al haramain amber oud gold. And all of a sudden I am getting the most beautiful smell of oud very warm smelling it reminds me of what I was smelling yesterday but warmer. Al shams takes at least 20 hours to dry down and it is still strong.

Bro where buy this perfume
Synthetic oud is a forgetful experience whereas real oud is intoxicating addictive like a beautiful dream that you don't want to wake up from it last but it will end. I wore an oriental oud incense leather fragrance in the summer folks around me were saying: Who smells so good here?

This one is lovely, do you think it still worth it in 2021? the longevity is kinda short. Any other real oud fragrance that you recommend? I know the boruzz line by rasasi is pretty nice as well. FM the moon/the night are too expensive.

Bakhoor Khas is beautiful and complex. I've used it and this gem is worth owning it. 3ml full of surprises.

Wouldn't it be a problem not spraying it on the body. I'm thinking the scent has to do its magic with the body chemistry and create its uniqueness.

Hi I'm just wondering how does this compare to Mukhallat Moattaq? So far I only had the chance to try that one from Ajmal.. It's nice but I found the oud to be a little too sharp/screechy (almost metallic).. I like Indian oud which is smokier, then warmer and creamier. I wonder if Mukhallat Shams is a safe blind buy, or should I go straight to the Dahn al Oud?
