I live in the UK and it’s a shame that the high step flavour is only available in grey. I think for the inflated price customers should have the choice of flame orange or boring grey. Henry Ford, the inventor of the motorcar, what did he say? “You can have it in any colour so long as it’s black”. Well I think we’ve come a long way since that slogan was said, don’t you think?
Neat bike, but I'm really tired of the inflated prices on these mid-drive IGH bikes. My ebike is a torque-sensor hub drive with the same battery capacity, so the differences are -Mid Drive motor instead of hub -IGH instead of derailleur -Belt instead of chain -Integrated tail light -Cafe Lock For these differences Gazelle wants to charge TRIPLE the price than what I paid for my ebike. The light and lock are only worth $20-$40 each. So they want nearly $4k (plus the cost of a hub drive, derailleur and chain) for just the motor, IGH and belt. I can't wait for the competition to put out a value version of the mid-drive & IGH commuter bike.
I am not Dutch, handle is a state of mind. Anyway, I think what's happening here is a bicycle designed as much for the Dutch market as Detroit pickups are for North America. I mean that there are workplaces in the Netherlands that will allow you to have company purchased bicycle that you slowly pay off as you bike to work. This is done in part to encourage people to cycle to work rather than drive. So a bicycle company has good reason to make a very nice bicycle that's state of the art and is a car replacer. The same bike here in Canada, without the cultural support, financial help, and infrastructure is pretty hard to swallow, though some people can. Making fun of myself, my car is quite old; its price if I were to sell it is probably not much more than the cost of the rear wheel and bub on the Eclipse....
You can get all of those features on Gazelle bikes half the price of this one. The premium here seems to come from the somewhat fancy frame, more powerful motor, better front suspension, and that capacity battery in a removable in-frame design.
My Bafang BBSHD is 1000 watts, peaks at over 2000 watts, cost a fraction of that and is already 4 years old and performs like it was brand new..It's a nice bike though, if you have money to burn, sure..
The customer looking at the halo product from Gazelle is not the same as the customer looking at Bafang 1000w bicycles. This bikes fit and finish, manufacturer support and durability easily exceed any bicycle with Chinese motors/batteries. That doesn’t mean those bikes are bad bikes, but they’re completely different categories of bike and rider
Do gazelle e-bike Bosch batteries have dual voltage or do they need a concord charge in the US
What about touring? Can you put racks and paneers on the front fork?

Gazelle says this has an "active" rider position. Can the head be rotated enough to give an upright rider position? Thanks.
I have the same question. I just ordered mine and I’m going to find out how much you can lift up the handlebar that’s on the adjustable neck.
Great video 👌🏼
When did you grow your hair longer Kevein Bacon?? 😛

You sound like an android user and not an Apple phone user. there’s a big difference or maybe there’s not and we’re all suckers.
With that bulky look, I kinda expect it to have 200 mile range. 😅
a very nice bike. Awfully heavy though.
For 6k I can buy 2 Wired Freedoms
Battery with no UL-certification, proprietary components, 90!?lbs, no LBS support, ect - hope you have home owner's insurance
🔥
@@jglamb1438 The Wired Freedom is 60v UL certified. Before you respond do your research Bud.
And you might also be able to get a Chinese EV car as well for that price.

That's what I say about my Toyota. Those suckers buying Mercedes Benz don't understand.
@@cadriver2570 We have a Tacoma and an Avalon also..
@@cadriver2570Too bad Toyotas reliability and affordability is going down the drain.
