Oh no Kayla picking the hardest cake recipe ever for a beginner 😂😂😂. I've been baking for over a decade and I still haven't attempted a cake roll 🤣. Don't give up just try something easier next . You did great with the egg whites!
"...maybe if I had of alerted someone...maybe I could have saved Indigo," cracked me up! Omg, loved the baking! I'm so happy you included the recipe video. ☺🤣 Thank you!!
Did you hear me laughing at the baking scene? I’m in Vermont. You definitely heard me. That weird earthquake followed by knee slaps. Me. All me. Also, I’m so impressed with you because I would have throw it all against the wall and then Disney Princess thrown myself onto my bed and cried. ….best part of my day, today. Thank you
Easily one of your funniest vlogs. My favourite moments were “maybe I could’ve saved Indigo…” and when you brushed aside your hair to reveal the heart on your striped shirt to prove that it is, in fact, festive 😂😂😂
I’m so glad you gave Talia Hibbert another try! I honestly feel like Chloe Brown’s book is the weaker of the Brown Sisters trilogy with Dani being the strongest, in my personal opinion, so I’ve been internally screeching to not let that be your determining factor. 😂 I’m glad you enjoyed this one!
When you said you were mixing red and yellow and hoping for pink I said outloud "but Kayla, that makes orange!" and then I realized that was not even the main problem lmao
Hahaha definitely not my worst issue. I wasn't trying to make pink though, just trying to get away from red 😋 I figured coral would be better, but the ugliness could just not be saved.
Kayla: I have no idea how to bake a cake! Also Kayla: takes on a super complicated recipe for her first cake. 🤣🤣🤣 this is why we love you! But for real, ease into baking lol it’s not easy as it’s literally chemistry!!
OMG this vi deo made me laugh so hard. Thank you, Kayla, for being authentically you and sharing your mistakes. You are an inspiration on so many levels.
12:43 so Valentine's Day is the feast day of St. Valentine so like Christmas it's one of those religious observances that spread to secular spaces. tho it's specifically catholic not broadly christian. St Valentine was buried on Feb 14th hence the day
Really love what you had to say about the Chloe Liese and her note about the rekationship in her book. I haven't read that one, but I've read lots of her others and always think she shows such great romantic love that anyone could aspire to have. I'm a romance reader, almost exclusively, and I've grown so tired of the non stop toxic relationships being hyped.
Absolutely pissing myself laughing about the shit show that is the cake incident followed immediately by the coffee cup incident. I love how well you keep it together 😂
I adore what you are teaching Liam about love. My youngest was born on Valentine's day and from her first birthday I have made sure to celebrate both things. In the morning I do Valentine's day with a card and chocolates. In the evening I celebrate her birthday with cake, presents, etc. I want her to know that anyone she is with needs to celebrate both things and not try to give one gift for both.
I’m sorry you didn’t find any new faves, but I hope you don’t give up on romance altogether! There are so many wonderful authors and stories out there! 😁
I loved Love in Color and I tried to research the source stories thoroughly before reading her updated versions and it really increased my enjoyment. I also love Honey and Spice. Bolu Babalola is a must read author for me now!
I think you would enjoy Thank you for listening by Julia Whelan. It's a lighthearted romance with all the fun tropes - and the characters know it, since they are romance audiobook narrators. You also get a lot of insights into the job of narrators - and i remember you like getting to know the ins and outs of characters' jobs. The author is an amazing narrator herself, so it feels very authentic.
This was probably my favorite video you’ve ever made 😂 I laughed so hard and just know, I was laughing WITH you during the baking scenes because it was 10/10 my same experience every time I bake lol
Wow didn’t expect such a high rating from you for talia hibbert. I thoroughly enjoyed the brown sisters trilogy and was sceptical about her ya but now I’m just gonna have to pick it up (as if I was actually going to not pick it up though?) 💗
Honestly I was so shocked when you said you were going to buy a Kithen Aid, I was like "what a life to just buy a stand mixer on a whim" and then you said you didn't realize how much they were and I was like oh ok that makes way more sense 😂😂
The baking scenes were amazing 💀 I’m a baker/pastry chef and that’s definitely not a beginner cake recipe! Don’t be discouraged! Also um, I just spent $750 (US) on a stand mixer 😅
Ooh I read Greenwood. It was interesting. It starts in the future and in the middle is way in the past and as you go through the second half it goes back into the future
Aw a valentines upload. Made my day. Thank you💗 I’ve had Love in Colour on my shelves for some time and now I want to read it this month📚 That cake roll coming apart made me laugh. Why do I relate?🤣 I enjoyed the lost city. I thought it was silly and fun 💖 That Rihanna performance!!! Iconic. Legendary😍❤️🔥
I’m reading love in color right now and I’m enjoying the ones that are more set in modern time and a bit more direct. I have only read 4 so far though. Loved Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail
Okay, hold on, tere are SO many fun little moments in here?! The baking?! The lip plumper "maybe I just need to feel something" moment?! KAYLA! You came through!
I never realized how much I use the Indigo website until now, when it's still down! I did do some shopping there over the weekend while we were in Edmonton and I had cash, but yeah, it's been frustrating.
Oh my that cake roll would have gotten me so frustrated. You were a trooper! Maybe try something easy next time. I like doing easy stuff, that you can't really get a cake mix for. Feels like I'm doing something special then😂 So something like a Lemon bar. Or just do a crumble to get in an easy win
I also had a baking fail last week with a red velvet cake, it's something in the air! Lol As for the Talia Hibbert, I've only read The Princess Trap by her and I haaated the audiobook narrator. I like the story, though! I just got a hold in on Libby for Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute so I'm excited to see what I think reading it physically.
Valentine's Day is on the 14th of February because it's commemorating Saint Valentine and the day has always been associated with the tradition of courtly love. Fun fact: He is also the patron saint of beekeepers 🐝🐝🐝 Back to the video for me. (I don't even read romance but I just love listen to you, you are always so thoughtful and the vibes are perfect)
Ooo a romance with fake dating and a reality tv challenge plot that is really great is The Love Con by Seressia Glass! Has a plus size mc too and both MCs are nerds in a cosplay competition!
The baking segment was so fun please don’t swear it off lol! You either must have done something catastrophically wrong (I didn’t notice anything), or it was a terrible recipe. I bake a lot and it’s actually kind of surprising how many recipes out there just suck. It did worry me a bit when tiktok was where you went first lol. I don’t think it’ll ever be the best resource for learning something.. Trying something simpler from a well-known source would definitely go better!
I felt the same about Two Wrongs Make a Right, so I feel validated 😅 I loved Chloe Liese's writing though, so I think I have to check out her other books, as this was my first full length Chloe Liese.
Not Kayla feeling guilty for not single handedly saving Indigo from hackers. 😆 omg I love you.
i think we need a baking session in every video now this was gold
I second this
Please YES!
Please YES!
I kept my cool until “why does it taste like that?” Then I laughed so hard I snorted and nearly peed my pants. Thank you for being you!
😂
Yes! This was the moment when I was crying laughing.
"I would rather be laying in bed, listening to an audiobook, and doing my digital puzzle". Nothing has ever been more relatable 😂🙌🏻
I need to know how to acquire or access a digital puzzle! I’ve never heard of such a thing 😊 is it just an app?
@@fiddleleaffiction I use a digital coloring app called Happy Color and I love it! But I know there are a lot of puzzle apps out there too :)
@@fiddleleaffiction www.jigsawexplorer.com/ is my go to!
Rob on the bed in the background kept making me laugh, especially when he looked over after “some people cry during sex” 😂😂
I had to watch that clip a few times because it was so funny!! 🤣🤣🤣
Oh no Kayla picking the hardest cake recipe ever for a beginner 😂😂😂. I've been baking for over a decade and I still haven't attempted a cake roll 🤣. Don't give up just try something easier next . You did great with the egg whites!
Lol I was thinking that! Not a heart patterned Swiss roll as your first cake! 😂
Right?! I was like nooooo 😂😂 there is a famous cake lady I follow on Instagram that still fails at making them 😂
I commented the same thing!!! People forget that baking is literally chemistry, it is SO EASY to make mistakes!!
So easy! I prefer cooking overall you can experiment easier 😂
Kayla: Some people cry during sex
Rob, from almost off-screen: 👀
Rob’s presence throughout this really takes it to the next level 😂 loved it
“Yikeroonies! The old deuce!”
"...maybe if I had of alerted someone...maybe I could have saved Indigo," cracked me up! Omg, loved the baking! I'm so happy you included the recipe video. ☺🤣 Thank you!!
your cake baking endeavors and the "I could've saved Indigo" spiel had me cackling loll
Awww you having a conversation with Liam about romance not being the only kind of love/care that matters or should be celebrated 🥹💛
Thank you
Kayla: unfortunately, it’s a 2
Rob: yikerooni’s
😂
My favorite part and followed by “The old douce”! Which I will be saying at every 2 star read from now on!
@@sarahteter6310 hehe

the baking part had me crying with laughter 😭😭 “why does it taste like that” SENT ME

I have zero interest in romance books but will always watch for the kayla commentary lol
🤗🤗🤗
"Some people cry during sex"
*Rob immediately looks at the camera* 💀💀💀💀
“I am getting this book for reasons.” We know the reason you love that cover, Kayla. And we are here for your love.
I literally said to myself "I hope we get a romance vlog from Kayla today" when I was driving home, and here we are. Yay.

Lol Indigo, Goodreads, the cake, the coffee, so much went wrong for you 🤣
It really was just not my week Deanna 😂😭
Always love rob cameos and movie commentary!

kayla is the queen of uploading videos when I need to go to bed 🤣
I adore what you are teaching Liam about love. My youngest was born on Valentine's day and from her first birthday I have made sure to celebrate both things. In the morning I do Valentine's day with a card and chocolates. In the evening I celebrate her birthday with cake, presents, etc. I want her to know that anyone she is with needs to celebrate both things and not try to give one gift for both.
My god! My wife and I are literally crying laughing from your baking fiasco. Omg we love you so much! 😂😂😂
Devin and Tori have also been my favorites from the start! They communicate so well
I’m sorry you didn’t find any new faves, but I hope you don’t give up on romance altogether! There are so many wonderful authors and stories out there! 😁
Please don't give up on baking! As others have mentioned you picked a really hard cake to bake for a first time.
I didn't realize that about the Challenge as well. My husband and I are addicted to it!!!!
I wanted to recommend you Greenwood! So glad you picked it up, you should definitely get to it sooner than later.
I loved Love in Color and I tried to research the source stories thoroughly before reading her updated versions and it really increased my enjoyment. I also love Honey and Spice. Bolu Babalola is a must read author for me now!
I always love your baking interludes and this one was such a wild ride lmao

Your speculation about saving indigo made me laugh
This was probably my favorite video you’ve ever made 😂 I laughed so hard and just know, I was laughing WITH you during the baking scenes because it was 10/10 my same experience every time I bake lol
omg I love this so much the baking part RESONATED WITH ME
I’ve been binge watching and this romance series is LoL from your daily life 💕
Completely lost it at "I've always wanted to do that" 18:08. Same, Kayla, Same. Also the eggs.
Ahh I’m glad you also enjoyed Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail, I agree I also enjoyed the characters in that book more than the first book too! 🥹💞
Wow didn’t expect such a high rating from you for talia hibbert. I thoroughly enjoyed the brown sisters trilogy and was sceptical about her ya but now I’m just gonna have to pick it up (as if I was actually going to not pick it up though?) 💗
Kayla, I think the movie Tar would be right up your alley. If you have a chance to see it in theaters it is definitely worth it.
OMG Kayla pls make more cakes I enjoyed this so much 😂😂😂
I dnfd two wrongs make a right it didn’t work for me at all plus I heard the third act breakup was ridiculous
I have tears streaming down my face I’m laughing so hard. This is just the best video! ❤
Using lip gloss to feel something I love it! ❤
Thank you for this post-work treat!! 🥰
I was actually weeping the whole dessert montage
Honestly I was so shocked when you said you were going to buy a Kithen Aid, I was like "what a life to just buy a stand mixer on a whim" and then you said you didn't realize how much they were and I was like oh ok that makes way more sense 😂😂
This was so much fun. Now you have to film yourself baking a cake every week. This was the hardest laugh I've had all week. 😂
the baking part had my dying😭😂 give it another try with a easier recipe haha
omg your top with the little heart cut-out is soooo cute
The baking scenes were amazing 💀 I’m a baker/pastry chef and that’s definitely not a beginner cake recipe! Don’t be discouraged!
Also um, I just spent $750 (US) on a stand mixer 😅
I love all of your vlogs but this was definitely one of the funniest I've seen in a while!
I love when you do romance content, please keep doing it!
"maybe if I had alerted someone, I could have saved indigo" 😭😭
OMG! That was the most hilarious baking session I've ever seen. It reminded me of my own campaigns in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing!
Ooh I read Greenwood. It was interesting. It starts in the future and in the middle is way in the past and as you go through the second half it goes back into the future
your purple sweater hair day is soooo slay
OMG! I love The Challenge as well. I love Devin and Tori too and was so happy with the outcome of the season.
What a heartwarming video, roll cakes are so hard, I'm glad you didn't give up though!!!
Aw a valentines upload. Made my day. Thank you💗
I’ve had Love in Colour on my shelves for some time and now I want to read it this month📚
That cake roll coming apart made me laugh. Why do I relate?🤣 I enjoyed the lost city. I thought it was silly and fun 💖
That Rihanna performance!!! Iconic. Legendary😍❤️🔥
I love your videos, you make me smile and often laugh.
The baking session gave me such a giggle. Such a fun video.
I’m reading love in color right now and I’m enjoying the ones that are more set in modern time and a bit more direct. I have only read 4 so far though.
Loved Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail
I'm obsessed with Rob's interjections and glances at the camera 🤣 I loved this vlog!
Okay, hold on, tere are SO many fun little moments in here?! The baking?! The lip plumper "maybe I just need to feel something" moment?! KAYLA! You came through!
I was crying laughing while watching you bake ;) the way you’ve edited it, perfect expectations vs reality ;)
I never realized how much I use the Indigo website until now, when it's still down! I did do some shopping there over the weekend while we were in Edmonton and I had cash, but yeah, it's been frustrating.
What you said about Valentines Day and teaching Liam. Me and my best friend do Galentines Day where we just celebrate the love of our friendship.
I would have completely broke down and gave up with all the things that went weirdly wrong! You are stronger than me 😂
Oh my that cake roll would have gotten me so frustrated. You were a trooper! Maybe try something easy next time. I like doing easy stuff, that you can't really get a cake mix for. Feels like I'm doing something special then😂 So something like a Lemon bar. Or just do a crumble to get in an easy win

18:47 put a little bit of red food coloring et voila pink food
i have tears running down my face I'm laughing so hard at this baking situation.
Haven’t watched yet but already know this is the best Valentine’s Day gift! 💕
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Greenwood ❤️
I laughed out loud at work while watching the cake making part.
Not la la on the cover of the Iris Kelly cover 😯😅
-dying over the egg cake-
loved this vlog, especially the editing choice to juxtapose your baking clips with the tik toker’s lol
Valentine's Day is on the 14th of February because it's commemorating Saint Valentine and the day has always been associated with the tradition of courtly love.
Fun fact: He is also the patron saint of beekeepers 🐝🐝🐝
Back to the video for me. (I don't even read romance but I just love listen to you, you are always so thoughtful and the vibes are perfect)
Your baking was so funny😭😂 I tried baking a homemade cake for my mom and it tasted like cornbread😭
If you've never watched Jamie and Julia here on RUclips, you should. Your baking segment brought me joy!
Yes I love Jamie and Julia!! Her energy totally matched his lmao
This is the most chaotic vlog and I love it
I was literally rewatching your old videos and then this popped up! YAY!! 🎉🥰
25:42 it’s like watching myself try and bake tiktok recipes 😂😂
I really enjoyed Greenwood! I don't see enough people reading that one. Can't wait to hear what you think of it!
The baking session was hilarious!! So relatable 🤣🤣
Ooo a romance with fake dating and a reality tv challenge plot that is really great is The Love Con by Seressia Glass! Has a plus size mc too and both MCs are nerds in a cosplay competition!
For fake dating, I recommend The Right Move by Liz Tomforde. It's book 2 in a series but can be read alone :)
I read Highly Suspicious this month too!! I'm happy you're in your romance era - I picked up Honey & Spice because of you and I gave it a 5 star!!!
The baking segment was so fun please don’t swear it off lol! You either must have done something catastrophically wrong (I didn’t notice anything), or it was a terrible recipe. the cake part made me laugh out loud 🤣 I needed a good laugh thanks Lala 🥰
I applaud your perseverance with the cake!
I felt the same about Two Wrongs Make a Right, so I feel validated 😅 I loved Chloe Liese's writing though, so I think I have to check out her other books, as this was my first full length Chloe Liese.
