Ok, I have used my lunch crockpot two days in a row and I absolutely love it! I took soup to work for lunch straight out of the refrigerator, at 10:30 I put the crockpot on to warm my soup and it was piping hot (just the way I like it) at 12:00.
Yall this is the greatest thing ever! Especially if you're in school. I plug it into an outlet in the bandroom and leave it there for 4 hours and 35 minutes (basically until i have lunch) and it's great! It doesn't burn, but today I'm going to try puttin a tiny bit of water inside so that it doesn't dry out
My wife got me one of these - I love it. Just put in a can of soup then plug it in at my desk when I get to work. In 4-5 hours the soup is very hot but not boiling. It's just the right temperature. The non stick tub only takes a second to wash. If your soup has potato in it then a microwave tends to make them pop unless you stir frequently. This lets you cook your soup evenly so it's ready when you are. No line at the microwave or stirring every 30 seconds so it doesn't splatter. It adds about 5 minutes to my lunch break every day since I don't have to wait to nuke my meal.
Thanks for sharing Jeff. Question. Say I made lasagna, straight out the oven and into this bad boy. How hot is it gonna be after 6 hours of being plugged in? Cheers
It doesn't cook the soup it just warms it so basically you are leaving your soup out at a temp range where bacteria grows for 4-5 hours and then eating it.
@@shawbros Bacteria grow most rapidly in the range of temperatures between 40 °F and 140 °F, doubling in number in as little as 20 minutes. This range of temperatures is often called the "Danger Zone." Never leave food out of refrigeration over 2 hours. -USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service
I’ve also noticed that it makes a difference the placement of your foods. In her rice and curry example, I would have put the eggs and gravy on the bottom (heavier) and put the rice on top. That made a difference for me since the thicker food needs to have more contact with the bottom/sides.
it will cook oatmeal over night - great waking up to hot part of breakfast waiting for me - just had crisp apple slices and glass of milk and I was good to go - wish I had one of these “back in the day” esp during exams - not sure they were even invented in 1980’s - am making up for it now - thnx for taking time to film your review 🙏😷🇨🇦
Thanks for the review. I'm so used to only having 30 minutes for lunch, i thought it would'nt be practical. But, i guess you could just plug it in in the morning. By the time lunch time rolls around it will be ready.
I don’t work anymore but I use mine all the time Soups which I doctor up and rice and pasta meals etc. For soups I add boiling water and just plug it in and then in an hour it’s nicely simmered and ready for me.
Thank you for explaining this warmer so well. I was hunting for soup thermos type options on amazon and came across this crock pot lunch warmer and was intrigued! After watching your video, I think it will work well for what I need. Thank you!
The rice I cooked was raw regular rice that comes in the bag. I would not recommend cooking raw meat . But YES you can cook raw rice in this crock pot warmer. I also spray PAM in the little tin before I add the rice and water so it doesn't stick.
This video was great! I found a used one of these at the thrift store with no manual so this was super helpful! For some reason I can’t click the like button though. Thanks for posting this video it was a detailed and informative review and you kept it moving at a nice pace.
i never wondered how exactly it worked and i am glad i saw this video. I was going to purchase three, for my kids and myself. well this wouldn't work for them at school as they would have no place to plug in. however, this works for me. :)
Late to the party but I just found one for $3.99 at goodwill brand spanking new!! I work from home a lot but my days get REALLY busy and when im in office the floor is packed so im in a line for the microwave.
my dumbass saw an ad online for this on sale for $11.99 and I ordered two thinking it was a food warmer that keeps food warm not warms food. I ordered two which haven't arrived yet so I may just send them back.
Please do more videos with a mini crock pot. Mine has no manuel, so we are rather clueless on how to use it. I have to wonder about cooking some Dinty Moore (canned) Beef Stew.
It seems to be a very nice cooking gadget, but there is a one negative point about it: It takes too much time to warm food..I mean 30 minutes to heat a watery soup is too much.
+3o9afa Hi, this lunch warmer is meant as an alternative to a microwave at the office. Ofcourse a microwave is fastest at heating up food but if you don't want to wait in line and want your food to taste similar to home cooked, this crock pot works well :)
+3o9afa You need to experiment with the time. Like I said above, a 14.5 oz. can of Amy's Chunky Vegie Soup took one hour and I had the inner lid off. Cold food from the fridge in the morning, I would plug in when I got to work to see if it was warm by noon lunch hour. Experiment and remember that microwaves kill the good nutrients in food so take the time to learn how much time it will take to warm your food.
Gloria Lewis microwaves suck!! Gloria, how well does this actually work? If I put just made hot food into this thing and heat it right away. How hot will it be after 6 hours? I really want this for work. But I make dinner at 6pm and lunch break is at midnight. How hot do you think it will be?!
It works well for people like me that don't always get a "break" ... I'm a Paramedic and it's nice to be able to eat a hot bite at a time when you can throughout the day... if I were to use a microwave or get fast food and get a call, my meal is ruined and I have to throw it out when i get back from the call
Rebecca S agreed. I’m on the road all night. So I bought a inverter for the cigarette lighter. I’ve found that heating for 1 hour is the perfect amount of time.
Once the food reaches 165+ degrees, the temp remains steady at that temp (maybe a bit higher at 175) as long as the unit remains plugged in. I usually plug it in once I get to work at 7:30 before I head to meetings, etc. I don't have to worry about rushing back to plug it in. Whether I stop for lunch at 11:30, 12:30 or 1:30, the unit keeps my lunch piping (not burning) hot till then. Tip: I have only 15 mins to get ready most mornings. I leave the unit at work. I usually put leftovers from the night before in pint -sized Mason jars or other glass containers that seal tight. All I have to do in the morning is grab the jar/container & put it in my bag. Once I get to work, I scoop the food into the lunch warmer and plug it in. Home-made ramen for lunch is awesome!!!!
Hi! Great review of the Crock Pot! I just received my unit and was wondering warming times for different foods. Your review was extremely helpful, thank you!
My husband thought it was too small (and a few other male friends) at first, but now...he/they feel its just the right size and use it practically everyday.
Anyone know of a battery powered option like this? I work outside with no access to electricity at times but would love to have a nice hot meal some days.
I work in the field . And I carry a portable power station and plug this into It (jackery portable power station ) on Amazon bout 150$ I invested in it I save money not buying lunch everyday !
I have used raw stew beef, add a carrot, onion and barley. Start it when I get to work and by 1:30 lunch is done. I don't use the rubber lid. The carrots are still firm and barley and beef are completely cooked.

buy a small rice cooker with more power it will warm freezed foot in no time
I keep mine in class with me, the food becomes room temp and takes 1 hour to heat to piping hot.

Why 4 hours? Mine heats my food in 1 hour

I have it also. It even makes microwave meals feel like homemade. I love it.
+KaSandra72 Hi, thanks for sharing :)
Do you have to use microwave before or it will warm cold food

Great video. I love mine.
Your curry egg looks delicious, is that your own recipe, or is there a good one out there?.
Thanks for this! I just bought one of these, and now I know how much warming time to expect for these types of foods. Much appreciated!
Glad it was helpful 😉
Just got one today and Im so excited to use it
Your not supposed to cook with the plastic lid on. That is just for storing food and stop leakage when traveling to and from work.

good for RVers, camping etc...
I have a surgery coming up and this will be perfect for my bedside so I don't have to cook and hurt myself
When it has an on/off switch and a leak-proof lid this will be great.
Try the new deluxe mini
Quick question: can i use the unit without placing the lid on the interior container unit? (Just using the crock's screw on lid)
Please do more videos with a mini crock pot. Mine has no manuel, so we are rather clueless on how to use it. I have to wonder about cooking some Dinty Moore (canned) Beef Stew.
Where can the additional containers be purchased from?
Does it make a difference where I buy it from? I see they are available in different places.
Hi Anna, it doesn't make a difference :)
Just bought one and I am looking forward to using it tomorrow.
I want some to do a video with it plugged in a smart plug and in a vehicle.
I would put the stew first and the rice on top.
Would it drain my car battery if I left this in my car to heat
Do you have a Hot Logic? R=That will cook from raw, It's like a little slow cooker.
Hi! When you're warming the food, does it smell? Like is I use it on my desk, everyone around me could smell my food? Thanks
Hopefully
I have one and have used it for over a year and the food smell never comes through.

What about fried rice from night before or fried noodles
Interestingly, I've seen other reviews that actually cook raw meats. Not lean beef, but more fatty cuts of meat and fish
