To everyone who complains that is not like with Austin. No, it's not. It was never, ever going to be. Stop expecting it will be avd you'll have av easier time adjusting. There are A LOT details going into every single one of these songs. They don't sing them normally from beginning to end like regular artists do. They sing a word here, a note there, one octave here and another there, all in one line of the main lyric. Every single line, every single song. Add to that choreography and learning everything else that goes into it. It's A LOT. And, because it's all new to Bastien and his brain still hasn't learned it well enough for most of it to be on autopilot there's nothing left for that little extra that can only come when the basics are moving on their own. It'll come. This is natural. It was exactly the same thing when Chance first joined. It takes time to create new habits that go on autopilot, and a lot of practice. Far more than a couple of months and only a handful of shows can provide. On top of that. He's singing songs that were arranged for Austin's voice and skills, not his, which is a BIG deal since their voices and strengths are different. So stop expecting it to be perfect. It won't be, yet. It couldn't possibly be yet. It takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something. You are expecting a beginner to be perfect. When we the last time you matched an expert at anything you just began doing?
Bastien has a really good voice, but his tone sounds so similar to Robs that it takes away from the harmonies…imo..I also feel like they should have looked for someone with a country voice. Austin and Tim brought the authenticity to their country sound (yes,I know Chance is from Alabama but he doesn’t really sound like it). Bastien clearly has a pop sound. I hope they don’t end up sounding like a pop group doing country covers….time will tell…
Sorry, but nowhere near what they were with Austin! I understand Austin’s reasons for leaving, but it really messed up Home Free! They need him back! I honestly can’t see them making it without him. If they do, it won’t be anywhere near the scale it was with Austin. So sad!!! 😢
Both Voiceplay and Pentatonix had multiple members leaving and they're doing just fine. Not to mention Chance swapped with Chris and it's been great. Instead of this defeatism, why don't you wish all of them the best of luck and respect Austin's decision to leave? They will still collab from time to time. Austin was with the group for 12 years, Bastien has been a member for barely two months (not including his prior short membership long time ago), and you're already a judge and jury. Give them a chance. You're clearly a fan, don't you wish them success, no matter who is in the band?

I disagree. Bastien’s voice blends much better with Rob and Chance. Of course Austin’s voice is amazing, but I think this sound will take home free into some really beautiful harmonies.

Why compare? I think they will do really well with Bastien. Austin has taken his choice, it is not useful to Ask for him to come back.
