we're doing this for graduation and our seniors can't sing this without crying...i can't either and I'm a junior
I assume you've also graduated now?
Same thing happening at my highschool, we’re from a small small town so the line “smaller than dust on this map” hits extra hard
We will call this place our home,
The dirt in which our roots may grow.
Though the storms will push and pull,
We will call this place our home.
We’ll tell our stories on these walls.
Every year, measure how tall.
And just like a work of art,
We’ll tell our stories on these walls.
Let the years we’re here be kind, be kind.
Let our hearts, like doors, open wide, open wide.
Settle our bones like wood over time, over time.
Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine.
A little broken, a little new.
We are the impact and the glue.
Capable of more than we know,
We call this fixer upper home.
With each year, our color fades.
Slowly, our paint chips away.
But we will find the strength
And the nerve it takes
To repaint and repaint and repaint every day.
Let the years we’re here be kind, be kind.
Let our hearts, like doors, open wide, open wide.
Settle our bones like wood over time, over time.
Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine.
Let the years we’re here be kind, be kind.
Let our hearts, like doors, open wide, open wide.
Settle our bones like wood over time, over time.
Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine.
Give us bread, give us salt, give us wine.
Smaller than dust on this map
Lies the greatest thing we have:
The dirt in which our roots may grow
And the right to call it home.
It's amazing how people can still sing so beautifully while crying:)
I didn't know this song could be any more beautiful :)
This whole concert was a masterpiece - one of the best programmed concerts ever. Thank you for your incredible work Carrie Tennant and CSYC. You inspire all of us at Kokopelli endlessly. I feel very fortunate to have heard many of these pieces live at "Podium Late Night" in Edmonton. I laughed, I cried and every moment touched the audience in some fashion. What a gift! I will never forget that night. XO
Scott Leithead You are an inspiration to us, Mr Leithead!

:)
After about years, i listened to this song, i lost its title and the name of the choir, until one day I could recall two words only "be kind". I tried to search "be kind", I couldn't find anything. Nevertheless, I hoped I would get it somedays. Tonight my hope has been made real❤. It talks to my heart and soul, that my hopes and dreams of future are still to come to real. I won't give up. Thank you for your beautiful and golden voices talking to our souls. Keep Gifting GOD as you use HIS talents in your lives.🎉❤
OKAY THE DYNAMIC CHANGE US EVERYTHING LIKE THE CRESCENDO! WOW! That crescendo made it so dramatic, so emotional, and it really hits the heart. Very beautiful
I need this on spotify…
Ok i never comment on stuff, but this is so amazing and its been bookmarked on my computer for months.. always give me goosebumps when the deeper voices enter in to complete that beautiful choral sound that i love. Props to the piano player and cello as well. awesome rendition of one of my favorite songs!

I'm literally in tears right now... What a wonderful piece. ♡
I'm a fan of Sleeping at Last. I used to be a member of a choir here in our church way back 2012 to 2016. And watching Coastal Sound Youth Choir sing this song, makes me miss my co-fishes even more!😢😢😢 Until now, I have regrets on leaving the choir. How I wish it's easy to come back. I miss being a part of *OMPHP YOUTH ENSEMBLE* 😢😢😢
My favourite sleeping at last song .I love the rendition ❤
I don't know why I'm just discovering this diamond only now. I was watching the video while crying with all those guys who was singing. Perfect. Saved in my favorites.

We did this song for our graduation about 5 years ago! There was no choir arrangement for it, so we had to write it! So hard not to sob!
This song is played during my graduation day 😔 I never know one song can bring so much memories

Update: we actually had to sing high hopes...so
im singing this for my eighth grade graduation in my choir, i’m probably gonna cry tbh
This song wants to make me cry🥲🥲🥲🥲
The story how about this song was created is amazing.
amazing
wow...
Holy Moly...
Can this arrangement be purchase?
can any give me the chords?
I always end up here.. one way or the other LOL
Does anyone know where I can get sheet music for this??
Can someone explain why they're crying? I know it's a sweet song, but they've rehearsed and rehearsed so why crying now still? Was it their last concert of the season and they're leaving the choir?
It’s a very powerful song. Quality music doesn’t stop affecting you….I sang it today with a large ensemble and despite listening to it over and over and practicing - I cried while singing it today.
They have a future
Deciding were tø die Deciding were tø fight. Twenty One Pilots should make a cover of this song
It is depressing and sounds like something at a funeral
